Speaking on Shiro's death, I was watching season 6 at the time of making that post and realized that the animation team may have done an easter egg to those who watched the original Voltron.

Not gonna lie, I like subtle easter eggs like this, if this is an easter egg at all.

It is shocking how much death is in Voltron: Legendary Defender. I understand that this show has the plot of a war. But Season 8 literally started with an Altean having a heart attack and dying on a medical table.

The Blade of Marmora were practically slaughtered by a random Druid. (I know he fought Keith in season... 1? 2? One of the two.)

There was also that random planet of alien deer. Gone in an instant thanks to Haggar.
