i am 100% positive that crystal's parents made up that stupid shitty name to be more notable in the art world. ain't no goddamn way that their families just happened to generate 'crystal palace surname von-hoverkraft' like do not lie to my face

in the litt and buckingham comics (which i'm in the middle of reading) it's maddy surname (artist) and seth von hoverkraft (rock star) and i can so see them making up those names for themselves and deciding that the hyphenation was perfect (not to mention the whole crystal palace thing) when i first heard her full name i was like that… sounds like something a 10-year old would make up for themselves as a secret identity and then having seen more of the comics version of her parents -- nope totally believe that's the name they gave her crystal palace surname von hoverkraft dead boy detectives

So.... if you had to have Charles say a shortened version of Edwin's name, what do you think it would be?

dbda poll hbo max: they had it first and they cancelled it first (while it was still in production) and i've no proof but i wonder if there's not some whole dc/warner licensing thing that made the netflix renewal decision more complicated (does that still count as hbo max or is that technically warner discovery? parent company anyways) i do not like warner discovery lately particularly after they've decided to shelve *multiple* nearly finished films in the past few years apparently for tax purposes which is -- at minimum -- really shitty for the creators of those works (that said if hbo max picks dead boy detectives back up then i will get an hbo max subscription for the first time in my life) dead boy detectives save dead boy detectives renew dead boy detectives
