gaara gets very excited when kankuro shows off his work. well, as excited as gaara can show. but even though he's not beaming, the sparkle in his eyes & the more upbeat tone of voice speaks volumes.

gaara isn't worried about parenting much. he knew what he was getting into when taking a child into his home, & he was ready for it. he knows he will never be like rasa, & he knows that he's trying his best. he knows how & who to ask for help when he needs it, & he knows that every child is different.

he finds joy in nurturing the future, & even more joy when the child who was once rampaging in the streets comes home & greets him, as his father. as family. gaara had no idea how much it meant to be a parent, let alone the parent of a child who so desperately needed it. & he's so, so happy he's been given this chance.

in short, he is not super mega confident in his inherent abilities as a father, but is wholly confident in his willingness to learn, & confident that no matter what, he loves shinki with every bit of his being.

& that's what's important.

from stories, & how he's described... he's indifferent. there's respect from a power standpoint, & not much else. jiraiya seems too much for him to handle, & kinda... scummy.

certain  assets…  it  doesn’t  take  a  genius.  mitsuki  ignores  the  comment,  glancing  around  for  a  moment…  ah.

how does mitsuki feel about anko being protective?

relatively neutral, unless she's to get in his way of anything. it feels good to be cared for, but he isn't fond of his more self destructive tendencies to be interfered with. if he is going to take every single hit for those he loves, he is going to. you cannot stop him.
