Ophelia necklace is hand carved by Moon and Serpent Website or Etsy

This pendant is from my Paintings Collection, consisting of jewelry pieces inspired by paintings I find fascinating, paintings which are important in history of art. This particular one is inspired by the famous work of Pre-Raphaelite artist John Everett Millais. The prominent red poppy in the painting—not mentioned by Shakespeare’s description of the garland of Ophelia—represents sleep and death according to the Victorian language of flowers. The necklace consists of hands of Ophelia, a poppy flower and a frame.
