Rewatched Ep 3 and 4 ( quite frankly, only Colin and Penelope scenes, together and apart) and i have to say: Luke Newton acted the shit out of S3 Episodes 3 and 4. In my opinion, he was as good as Nicola, and in that carriage scene i think he was better. And that's a really big praise i'm giving because Nicola is the best actress in the younger characters cast. Newton used his body language and his eyes extraordinarily, and all his reactions were raw and vulnerable. Subtle when needed and avoiding a quite easy road that would be overacting. It's all there and you believe he is that young man and his doubts, fears and love. I just had to say it because he's really been underrated.

"they will never be them" well yes. every bridgerton season is focused on a different love story for a reason and not every season will resonate for everyone the same. the point is love is different for everyone and no love story is the same. we all connect to a season more than the others for a reason, whether it be our experiences or personalities, etc, but that doesn't make one better than the other. NO LOVE STORY AND ITS PROTAGONISTS WILL BE THE SAME AND WHY WOULD YOU WANT IT TO BE!!

The switch up in this man’s face the minute he smiles is so cute. Actors have to have so much control over their faces and emotions, but the minute Luke Newton smiles he just turns into a lil cherub.

The casting directors must’ve been looking for two actors who could run the spectrum between adorable and sexy to play Polin - especially since they had to “grow up” over three seasons - and they hit the jackpot with Nicola and Luke. In the carriage scene they had to go from hot to cute in seconds for their giggle fit once the carriage stopped, it’s the perfect casting for friends to lovers.
