any pronouns. I do not care. I love them all. Mostly aro/ace musings or my random thoughts. I talk about shows a lot.

Would've been funny if she had no interest in Tyler till he turned out to be a homicidal monster but I guess they didn't let that happen

And then guess what happens in the show next: He says "Hey" to Ben. Charlie even clarifies that he's saying "hi". And you know what Ben does?(course you do, you're looking at this post). Ben breaks the pattern, breaking Charlie's streak of happiness. This is why it's "hi" every time. Because Ben needs to contrast to Nick.

The show Heartstopper makes a very interesting deviation from the comic Heartstopper. In the comic, after Charlie and Nick meet, there is a series of 3 pairs of panels of Nick speaking and Charlie answering. This happens in the show, but its the same interaction every time, as opposed to the comic where Nick says a different thing each time, and Charlie responds accordingly.

With the music, this sort of mounts Charlie's feelings on top of each other, this guy he likes who keeps saying hi to him. Before class, in the halls, sitting next to each other. My best guess right now as to why they decided to make it "Hi""Hi" every time is to illustrate in a particular way that they are interacting multiple times a day, and Charlie is happy about that. As opposed to emphasizing the type of interaction they have. And then it breaks the pattern: they start having a full conversation. They're getting to know each other. This isn't to say that the comic doesn't illustrate this aspect. In fact, the series of 2 panels do occur in different locations. But the way film vs illustration work makes it pan out differently.

I know I'm supposed to be serious because Nick is going through it in episode 3, but the way Harry talks is so funny 💀
