I love how Arthur and John swear so much that if Harlan ever wrote an episode where they didn't swear we'd all notice almost immediately

Working on my personal DSMP character and I’m slowly falling in love with the baby already ngl. Their name is Coda and they are the child of Philza and Trixtin, a minor deity. She is often referred to as the supposed ‘Pillar of the Lost’ or God of Nihility, and while she mimics the traits of the Warden she is actually made of star dust. Their hearing is super sensitive meaning they are partial to calmer and more quiet spaces, and she despises louder characters such as her half sibling Tommathy.

Although she has an outwardly thorny personality, they behave less in an “I’m going to kill you” sort of way and more of a “I will cut off your trading and supply lines and refuse to negotiate with you because you’ve offended me” making her less dangerous than her appearance makes her seem.

Disclaimer; I still don’t support the actions of Dream’s Stans and do not consider myself part of the actual fandom. The only reason I created Coda was because I love Philza and Mumza, they are a HUGE comfort to me and their presence online is one of the main reasons I e made it this far, so please be kind.

I realised you tumblefolk never saw my first (so far only) attempt at animation! In 1st year we had an animation module, and this was my final piece. I was so pleased with it, I did the whole thing frame-by-frame and largely freehand.

I had to make a new youtube account recently 'cause of google taking over everything and that meaning it turned the email address into a new google account and logging me out of my normal one every time I logged in on youtube and AUGH I HATE THE INTERNET- so it seemed like a good time to share it again.

Also, if I had the time and money I'd genuinely love to do a second degree and train as an animator. I'm a huge animation geek, I'd love to learn how to do it properly even though I'd never use it for anything. Some of my favourite illustrators and comic artists trained in animation, I think I could learn some fascinating things.

I'll add that to my list of things I'd like to do if I won the lottery and lived in a magical land where I ride a unicorn to work every morning, haha.

I've Been Doing Quite A Lot Of Work That's Not Ready To Show, Along With Frantically Getting Ready For

I've been doing quite a lot of work that's not ready to show, along with frantically getting ready for Bristol Expo this weekend while doing many, many shifts at a tea room, so here are some old-ish sketches I did in spare time instead.

I don't think Andersen has appeared on here before, but he's a shape-shifting cat who is found by Jessie in a forest, and seems to have been abandoned by his people for some reason. He's mute, but he does understand speech. (Although he doesn't speak English.) It never really comes up in the story, but he hooks his tail over his leg like that because when he was little someone trod on it.

You should all recognise Coda, she's in white because she's participating in a ritual.

As I said, I'm also going to Bristol Expo this weekend with Inspired Comics, I hope some of you can stop by and see us. We'll have our new anthology, and with any luck I'll be bringing a new issue of What's the Time, Mrs Woolf? and an 8-page comic called The Bad Fairy Bakery.

*rush rush panic panic*

These Are The Other Five Postcards I Made For Thought Bubble, In My 'dolly' Style. These Are All My Own

These are the other five postcards I made for Thought Bubble, in my 'dolly' style. These are all my own characters as well, but they're not all as well developed. I was still aiming for a limited colour palette with these, and I think I was fairly successful. I definitely like my own work more with fewer and duller colours.

There's Coda, a young princess who suffers from an arranged marriage and is moved from her home in the mountains to her husband's kingdom, which is largely forested. Then there's those two creepy edwardian children from the Danse Macabre postcard, perhaps this is where they found their skeleton friend. Then Lena, sister of Lucas and possessor of the gift of prophesy, following a ghost lantern. A little witch in a field of eyes. Lastly, young Nettle and Spider, enjoying a psychic tea party (the best kind). Possibly Spider will read their tea leaves when Nettle puts the cups down.

In other news, I'm incredibly tired and I don't know why. The weather? Not wanting to go to work? My house being really cold? Tis a mystery.

Sketchavember 2012 - Part 3!

21 - Meilee, my adorable and awkward factory girl. She always looks pretty gormless, because people leave you alone if they think you're an idiot.

22 - Lin, who came to the same conclusion in the boy's side of the factory. Also has the misfortune of being on the back of Jemima's page, which I shaded with markers.

23 - It got to about 11:30pm and I was falling asleep, then I remembered I hadn't done a picture, so I drew Coda falling asleep.

24 - I almost got through Sketchavember without drawing Duo again. Almost.

25 - Noone, the main character of a graphic novel which I planned and then scrapped. I still want to do something with the characters though.

26 - Haha, I tried to draw a demon but he kept going wrong, so I rubbed him out and drew an angel instead, which was a million times easier. I wonder if that says anything about my psyche.

27 - Ah, here's the demon.

28 - Having developed a character model for Hephzibah, I completely failed to make one for Gorse. Oh well.

29 - A Vrega, having a nice stretch.

30 - Last but not least, Kero. Originally he was some kind of alien that resembled a demon, but I've been thinking I might just make him a sort of feral demon instead.

And that was last year's Sketchavember! I hope you enjoyed this insight into my pathological fear of drawing anything that's not people. XD

Sketchavember - Day 25

Sketchavember - Day 25

I was very tired on Monday, so in the end I drew Coda sleeping on the floor. She is also very tired.

Fun Sarah Fact: I used to lie on the floor face down in a ball like this if I was really tired. My sisters used to say I looked either like a hamster, or like a bug.

Inktober 2019: Day 20 - Mapping Pen

Inktober 2019: day 20 - mapping pen

It’s not clear to anyone why Coda attracts so many butterflies.

I went for something simple again because I’m tabling at London MCM this weekend and I’m starting to panic a little bit!

Here I am, frantically posting the rest of Inktober 2020 before Inktober 2021 starts!

I’ve done Inktober every year since 2013, so I was quite upset that I couldn’t finish it in 2020. I kept trying for the whole month, but I only managed a few sketches. If you squint you can see there are two dates on some of these - those are the ones that were at least sketched on the right day, the others were backfilled months later.

I’m going to try again this year, so hold your thumbs for me!
