here's a fun exercise

try and recreate the face mike/finn makes before saying i love you

make that facial expression, and imagine youre about to say something after it. think about how it makes you feel, what emotions or experiences come to your mind

now, have you EVER made that face before saying something good? something pure and true? something you're not ashamed of? something you think is going to help the person you're saying it to? something coming straight from your heart that you've been holding back for years? have you ever made that face before saying a verbal manifestation of the love you share with your favorite person?

i'll bet a million dollars your answer is HELL. NO.

and i'll bet another million that the times you have made that face, it was before saying something bad. maybe something you know full well is not true. something you desperately don't want to say. something you have to force yourself to say. maybe even something someone is making you say. something your body is rejecting as it leaves your mouth because you know it's a lie.

or maybe it was before saying something that scares you, something you know is going to get you in trouble. maybe it was the truth, but a hard truth. a truth that is going to hurt someone you don't want to hurt. maybe it scared you because it defied everything you've ever been taught, it was something you're afraid to say because of how the people you care about will see you. maybe no one ever saw this coming from you, maybe you've been persuaded to not say it.

a lot of people say that most byler moments are just finn wolfhard making random faces. are you people stupid or did you forget these people are ACTING?? and that using your facial muscles to fabricate an emotion is a CONSCIOUS ACTION??
