It would be cool if there was a young king who is given a prophecy that there is a child with a special mark being born who is going to end his reign and he's just like "shit! What the fuck will I do to deserve that?"

Like he's way more concerned about turning into a tyrannical despot then worrying about this kid.

He puts a full on ban on trying to find the kid because hunting down the kid to destroy him sounds like tyrant talk. In fact he makes the prophecy a state secret.

He invests in education and really takes the concerns of the common people seriously and works on a complete overhaul of the administration and taxes

The nobles don't like it but he's so popular with the vast majority they can't manage to do anything. Besides the country is doing so well now

He keeps doing reforms and invests in the land and people making the kingdom thrive and eventually he forgets the reason he started because he's genuinely enjoying how he's running things

Eventually he the only thing left to reform is the monarchy. A bloodline doesn't a good ruler make and he loves his children but none of give a shit about the infrastructure he's put into place and would be horrible rulers

So on the suggestion of clever a young advisor (who was one the children who obtained upward mobility through the free schools and scholarships provided by the government) he decides to form a whole new government structure

A government for the people by the people which delights him. He leaves it mostly in the advisors hands and just approves of it

And on the day the formally renounces the throne and dissolves the monarchy and hands the government off to the new prime minister, who just happens to be the clever advisor, they're have drinks afterwards to celebrate and the prime minister rolls up his sleeves to reveal a distinctive birthmark on his arm

The king starts to laugh as a memory long buried is unearthed

The prophecy that had started all of this had come true in the best ways
