She should have gone after her that night. She didn't. She let fear dictate her choices. And now she's spent months listening to people say Kit's dead. But she knows it isn't true. She knows it's a euphemism, because no one wants to speak the truth. Kit's not dead. She's lost. And Jade has a hard time believing that.

She hates that she can feel her so sharply. As if Kit is a literal piece of her. Nightclubs are not a place Jade feels she belongs and that doesn't change as she walks through the crowded bodies. She watches her from across the room, represses the ache in her chest as an arm drapes around Kit, focuses in on the dark energy around Kit until she can feel it right behind her. She stops. "I wanted to see for myself..."

kit feels her absence every day. it both devastates and angers her. lili tells her that she would be completely inhuman if she didn't allow herself the freedom of feeling, that the jedi do everything in their power to quell individuality, destroy love, and top the power struggle. she's convinced the youngster that she's now free of all that; that she can now do what she wants, yet something still feels... amiss.

completely lost in her own thoughts, a new experience for the youngster, kit barely even notices the arm wrapping around her shoulders nor the loud music that pulses through the air. it's only when a familiar mess of red curls crosses the corner of her eyes, does she snap to attention, bringing kit to her feet. what is she doing here? placing a hand on the holstered saber, kit excuses herself from the table and moves to follow @dutyxbound through the crowd. ❛❛ it's been months, and you don't even say hello? ouch. ❜❜

"I would say it looks like you have plenty of issues in that department on different levels of that statement," Jade retorts. She can't help it. It's extremely rare that she goes at others like this. She usually prefers to keep quiet and move on, but Quintan? Mothers, why couldn't he just get along with her like Scorpia? He makes Jade feel like she has to fight him to prove herself.

Her teeth clench and that playful taunting is gone when he says her name. Kit is off-limits and he knows it. There's no way any conversation about her could go well. "Kit isn't fun to me, Quintan. Be careful about what you say next." She hates revealing her weak points to him. She knows he'll use them against her, but this was one vulnerability she always wore on her sleeve.

Jade’s mouth opens to respond, but she pauses to consider her words. “Airk, what’s the longest relationship you’ve ever been in?” she finally asks. A part of her is certain he can’t possibly understand what it’s like to grieve and move past a year long relationship. “I do not have a stick up my butt! You met me at a party, remember? I just have priorities, like my grades and football.” She damn near rolls her eyes again at his question about her teammates. How many had he tried sleeping with already? She has to wonder. “I’m sure a few will… especially if I ask in the group chat.”
