Welcome all! Reaping week is nearly here!

I realize that there are a lot more of yall then there was last year! So let's go over what Reaping Week is-
Where we have Solarpunk Aestheics Week to inspire us in the face of horrors, and Solarpunk Practial week lets us show off the cool ways we can fix it! And I am fully behind those weeks, but as a counter balance I host Reaping Week.
We cant ignore the other side of this, you cannot have that bright hope without the darkness.
Isnt it all so unfair? The horrors, the isolation, the suffering enforced by the current system? Don't you sometimes just wanna burn it down? Want to Revolt? Don't you sometimes wanna just scream? Don't you deserve space to feel the weight of the world your trying to fix without judgment?
That's what Reaping Week is for besties!
Come vent! Come cry and rant about everything we must take down as apart of this cruel system! Draw from media that inspires those more firey parts of yourself!
Also trick or treating
So gather round and celebrate in the dark with me!
OCT 27th - NOV 5th
Additional info below the cut
FAQ:
Why is Reaping week Oct 27th - Nov 5th?
That's because I'm a NERD and wanted to create a holiday for us Solarpunks that encompassed both Halloween and Guy Fawkes day!
Can I join in on the fun? And How?
Of course sweetie!! đź’• you can join by offering vent messages, by showing off projects, by reblogging or commenting, by sharing music or art, by showing off the movies/shows that inspire the fire within! Submit stuff via my mailbox or tag me or simply add to the tag yourself!
Why is it called Reaping Week?
I will go off about this bc I think it's clever! There a few things.
1) I'm a hunger games nerd and reaping children to fight each other in a highly specialized TV show for class warfare is WILD
2) in the spirit of the harvest season, Capitalists are simply reaping what they sewed with us ripping apart their system.

transreads.org is a fantastic resource for queer literature and history, and the best part is that it's FREE! There's no excuse to be ignorant when the information is being handed to you like this.
Leslie Feinberg also has all of hir works free online if you are particularly interested in lesbian history and literature. They are available as downloadable PDFs, and I believe they are on the internet archive aswell.
transreads.org also has a great section on Palestinian queer literature if that's something that interests you, it's important that we learn about queerness outside of America. I've dabbled in a few of these books and essays and poems and they're very cool! I really do enjoy learning about queerness in other cultures, I hope you all can find joy in that too!!
if you have any good queer resources that you'd like to share pls comment or add it to a reblog!! I'll probably make a bigger masterpost later, or perhaps a Google document.
oh your pronouns are he/they?
well that’s mathematically incorrect becuase you can still simplify the fraction since both sides have “he”
making your pronouns technically 1/ty

really helpful technique ^ once you know how to divide by halves and thirds it makes drawing evenly spaced things in perspective waaay easier:

despair is OUT pessimism is OUT we’re LOVING OURSELVES and FINDING JOY IN THE MUNDANE now I will NOT let the world take LOVE away from me
Ok ok but this is Telemachus

And this is Odysseus

Right?
DO NOT DO THIS!!!
If a website has a paywall, like New York Times, DO NOT use the ctrl+A shortcut then the ctrl+c shortcut as fast as you can because then you may accidentally copy the entire article before the paywall comes up. And definitely don't do ctrl+v into the next google doc or whatever you open because then you will accidentally paste the entire article into a google doc or something!!!! I repeat DO NOT do this because it is piracy which is absolutely totally wrong!!!
spotify is raising prices again here's the apk that gives you premium for free
I just wanted to say that “nobody shits in the well” is the best description of civilization, ever.
For refrance this is the comic if anybody is coming across this first
That comic with Zeus and Odysseus gave me the rather cursed mental image of Ody trying to "There are other ways" his way out of everything instead of becoming the monster rawr rawr rawr
Sirens? "There are other ways"
Scylla? "There are other ways"
Mutiny? "There are other ways"
Etc, etc
... except maybe Calypso
(I'm sorry for this ask, but I'm also not)
..........
I will never stoop this low... NEVER!
Small thing that breaks my heart:
When I was in third grade, I told this boy that it would be my birthday in four days, and he said, “okay, then I’ll buy you flowers.” Four days later he comes up to me and says, “my mom wouldn’t let me get flowers but I found you this violet in the grass.” That in and of itself was iconic and so so sweet, but it gets better.
A month later, I had to move, and because it was third grade, the teacher made everyone write me letters to say goodbye. His said, “I hope you have so much fun in your new house that you forget about me. I hope that you’re always happy and you never miss us. I’m sorry I never gave you flowers, but I can give you some now.” And he fucking. Drew me flowers.
No, Joey, I never forgot you. You are the reason I have standards in this life, and I’m so grateful to have known you. I hope you’re happy, wherever you are, and I hope that the rest of your days are filled with as much joy as you gave to me. I spilled water on the card about five years ago, and half of it is a a jumbled mess now, but I still have it. It’s the only card I still have.
The funny thing is this dude and I hardly ever interacted. I knew he played football because he was on the town’s kids’ team and my brother was on the middle school team, and I knew he was one of, like, three Joeys in our year. I had a crush on him but obviously never communicated that because it was fucking third grade, but somehow those three interactions imprinted on who I am as a person. I am forever changed by Joey from third grade.
Antinous: little wolf *disgusted*
Athena: little wolf *affectionately*

"we must do what it takes to survive."
Scylla inspired by the song from the thunder saga! Epic the musical my beloved how I love you
Athena: I PLAYED YOUR GAME AND WON!
Zeus: YOU DARE TO DEFY ME?! TO MAKE ME FEEL SHAME?! NO ONE BEATS ME! NO ONE WINS MY GAME!!!
Hermes, taking the Monopoly board away: Okay I think that's enough for family game night.
thoughts on Wisdom Saga!
I finally learned what champ did about it and am very satisfied
Athena’s journey from the cold-blooded warrior who only worked with the best of the best and refused to admit she had a friend, to the defender who saved a young man from an uneven fight, to the goddess who laid down her pride and ultimately begged for Odysseus’ life and freedom… just… (screams into pillow)
