So apparently in Legends Boba Fett is a massive bookworm...

Why didn't anyone tell me this, I had to find out on my own?!

I could've thought about a crack fic of Boba meeting his Grandfather and just asking for the library with Jango in the corner dreading about how there's another one.

I just spent 6+ hours talking to my sister about Star wars lore. That was fun, we started to slowly branch off to talk about Harry Potter's lack of lore, and we some how end up world building based off of what we know for another thing.

We had a great time.

It's mentioned sporadically through Star Wars Legends Boba Fett series books, and I'm pretty sure it mentions it other places too I just haven't read them yet. They were by different authors.

Fox is tired. A headache stabs at his brain, but he manages not to grimace. It had started this morning with the reappearance of his new Jedi general, and it had only gotten worse with the arrival of his current visitor – the senator who had been one of those that had played a key part in orchestrating this mess. 

‘This mess’ was the subject of their meeting.

“So, Commander,” the senator drawls, finally getting back on topic, “how has the new Jedi been getting along?”

The Jedi in question had been forced on them only a few days prior. Certain members of the senate had kicked up a fuss after the guard had fumbled one thing or another – Fox isn’t even sure what the tipping point had finally been, given the sheer volume of random complaints sent their way on a daily basis – and insisted that the Jedi send one of their own to oversee the Guard’s operations, saying something about ‘removing any last excuses that the Guard might have for their incompetence’. 

That had been the words of this particular senator, at least. Fox is sure that something less scathing would have been directed at the Jedi themselves.

Sometimes, though, Fox wonders if this whole farce is more about taking the Jedi away from their real duties than leaving him with a new general. He’s not sure why that might be, but the fact remains that the Jedi are the only other party involved in the war that the clones share their exhaustion with. 

Not that this has made him any more sympathetic to the particular Jedi that they had been left with, however – not since they had made their introduction by falling out of a moving speeder in front of him, and followed it up by instigating a wave of chaos through the guard headquarters as they utilised the force to avoid Fox’s medics. 

He’s sure they must mean well enough, but he doesn’t know what the council were thinking, sending them a Jedi as young as they did. They must have only just been able to qualify as a general, but Coruscant wasn’t the easy start that they must have expected it to be.

In the present, Fox doesn’t voice any of this in his response, instead replying, “they’re getting on well enough, sir.”

It’s all the senator is really looking for, anyway. This talking point is just a pitstop between one reprimand and another, Fox is sure, based on their conversation (or rather: the rant directed at him) prior to this.

“I hope they haven’t been having too much trouble integrating with your men,” the senator begins – and never gets the chance to finish, because instead comes a cry from the hallway outside.

"FOX–"  

The door slams open to reveal the Jedi in question. They blink, frozen in place for a moment, as they consider the scene. 

"Uh- nevermind."

The door slams shut again, leaving Fox and the senator to stand in silence.

"Was that…?" The senator starts to ask, but then the door opens once more. The Jedi grasps for the canister that sits just inside the doorway, in case of emergencies.

"Is this your fire extinguisher?"

"What?"

"Will this put out fires?"

"I mean, yes, but–"

"How does it work?" As they speak, they're testing buttons. Suddenly, a jet of foam bursts out of the nozzle, landing a direct hit on the senator. "Got it – oh, sorry , I’ve got to go!"

The Jedi runs off again. They hadn’t sounded very sorry at all.

Once again, Fox and the senator are left standing in silence. This time, it is occasionally broken by foam falling away from the senator's otherwise meticulous attire. It is certainly enough of a distraction to redirect their frustration away from Fox, if their expression is something to go by -- they don't seem keen on starting up their previous conversation again, at any rate. 

‘Do you still think that it's a good idea for Jedi oversight?’ Fox doesn't say. He thinks, perhaps, that the senator is going to be asking themself that question all on their own.

Instead he simply moves to the side and lets the senator stalk out of his office, muttering under their breath as they go, leaving him in peace.

Maybe, Fox considers, having a Jedi around won’t be such a bad thing after all. He does also have to consider whether or not he should be following them, given the fire extinguisher that they’d grabbed, but then he looks around at his office – empty, and quiet for the first time in days. 

Fox turns off his comm unit, instead. He’s sure they’ll be able to handle it. They’re a Jedi, after all.
