One Shot: Wedding.

This is a one shot requested by the amazing @eremika-forever12 I hope you like it. 

I look down at the white dress and run my hands through the delicate lace fabric. I take a deep breath and try to calm myself down. I can’t help but feel a little sad at this moment. I always imagined my mom helping me get dressed, later on I imagined Carla helping me. But that’s not possible, those daydreams were stolen by violence. 

“Wow! You look beautiful, Mikasa!” Hange says as she finishes zipping the dress. She tries her best to smile, but she too seems a little sad. “Listen, I know you probably never thought I would be the one helping you put your dress today, but I am honored that you asked me,” she tears up a little. I comfort her even if I am fighting tears of my own. 

“No, no tears! This is a happy moment! I won’t ruin it with sadness!” Hange exclaims as she slaps her face. She helps me with my make up, something I’m not really used to, and neither is Hange. We make so many mistakes, but luckily Hitch knocks on the door. 

When she looks at my face she laughs, “I knew my help was needed.” She marches into the room and quickly grabs the make up and gets to work. “Annie told me you might be a lost cause in this department,” she says. I frown when she says this, of course Annie would say that. “So, are you nervous?” Hitch asks. I shake my head, “I’ve always wanted this,” I confess. Hitch smiles. I never thought she’d be the one I’d confess this too, since we were never really friends. 

Hange looks at how Hitch gets to work and takes notes. “So? How’d he ask? I mean it is Eren after all, he really took his time with you.” 

My face warms as I remember how it happened. That day he kept staring at me, to the point that I thought I had something on my face. He suddenly asked if we could go for a walk. I, of course said yes. As we walked he kept talking about us as kids, he’d point to the streets we’d run on. The buildings were on the road to reconstruction, but he knew where everything used to be. 

I teased him with the spots he used to get beaten up on. He surprisingly laughed at that. I noticed he seemed a bit nervous. For the life of me I couldn’t pinpoint what was going on with him. 

I noticed he was leading me somewhere, like he had somewhere he wanted to take me. We walked outside the town, until we reached a large tree. I remember telling him how much he liked to nap on that tree. He sat down and held his hand out as he helped me sit. 

We sat there watching the sunset for sometime, Eren had his hand in his pocket, which made me think he was cold, so I thought I should warm them up. “Give me your hand,” I told him. His eyes almost shot out of his face when I said this. I was getting more confused with his behavior at this point. “Mikasa…” he sighed a bit troubled. Something was definitely up with him. 

“Let’s just watch the sunset,” he finally said. I laid my head on his shoulder and we remained like that for some time. Before the last sun rays set inside the earth, Eren squeezed my left hand firmly. “Mikasa?” he asked softly. I hummed a lazy response, as I was slowly drifting off to sleep. 

“Marry me,” he said. My eyes shot open, I kept staring at the grass, not daring to look at him. I slowly moved my head to look at him and between his forefinger and thumb he held a ring. He looked at me with those deep green eyes; so full of fear, so full of hope. I couldn’t mutter a response. Of course there was no doubt in my head about marrying him, it was just something I never thought he’d ask me this soon. 

He pursed his lips in nerves and kept staring at me. I am not good with words, so I didn’t say anything. I had hoped my eyes said it all, but either way I kissed him and told him, “With you, anything.”

“Wow, Eren Yeager nervous. Who would’ve thought?” Hitch exclaims as I finish the story. Hange looks at me and gasps as Hitch finishes my make up. She holds the veil in her hands and walks up to me and carefully settles the veil in my hair. Hange is teary eyed again. 

Both her and Hitch are quiet as they stare at me, which makes me panic a little. I walk to the mirror and am surprised about the blushing bride that stares back at me, because it is me. And right on cue, there is a knock on the door. 

Hitch opens the door. Armin stands there stupefied for a moment, “Wow… Mikasa,” is all he can say. I hug him, finally feeling the nerves creep up. Armin holds his hand out, “Ready?” All I can do is nod. There are no words to describe how I feel. 

We hear Jean yelling from down the hallway. “Is she ready! Eren’s about to pass out, out there-” he stops mid-sentence when he sees us, “that bastard,” he mutters under his breath. “We’re going,” Armin says. 

I flinch when I see all the familiar faces in the crowd… I really wish there were more of us here. My throat feels heavy as I try to smile at them. But that’s when I see him. When my gray eyes meet his green eyes, the world stops existing. I squeeze Armin’s arm and he squeezes back. I try so hard not to cry, I really don’t want to mess up Hitch’s hard work. 

Eren fails at this though. He wipes his eyes, and I laugh as I see Jean slap his back. I end up walking faster than Armin and practically end up dragging him with me. Armin hands me over to him, he squeezes Eren’s shoulder and walks away. He too, has tears in his eyes. 

Eren holds my hand and brings my knuckles to his lips. I don’t know what the priests says for the entire ceremony, I keep staring at him. He looks so handsome, he’s so beautiful. He. That’s all that’s in my head. And he too keeps looking at me. 

After a short ceremony, the priests asks us to say our I do’s. And it amazes me how just like that I am his wife, and he is my husband. The priests says the words I never thought I’d hear in my life, “You may kiss the bride.” 

I stare at Eren and he stares at me, tears brimming at the edge of our eyes. He brings his hand to the back of my head, leads me in, and whispers, “Mikasa… I love you,” and brings his lips to mine. We kiss and we hear the cheerful clapping roaring around us. We both smile and continue to kiss, the idea of husband and wife settling comfortably in my head. I lean my head on his shoulder and we make our way down the aisle hand in hand as husband and wife.

Chapter 2: Will You Live With Me?

Yawning with mouth wide open, Armin stares at Eren who has been pacing to & fro from past half an hour in his room and not even saying a single word yet....Armin could feel  he was hell pissed at something most probably at him....

Finally having enough of the silence , Armin says with sleepy voice “ Hey Eren....Whats your problem? You havent been saying a word since the past half an hour....do you really have to say something to me? Go to bed....you have an important work tomorrow , remember?”

That's it....Eren gave a stern look at Armin who could now finally realise, what ever is wrong....it is related to the discussion they had in the morning...

Armin gulps as he feels kinda nervous watching Eren's stare at him “ Okay, Okay....Fine! You do wanna a say something...I got it! So speak up....”

Eren with his cold voice “ Oh yeah....you still acting so clueless, Armin Arlert ! You know what the hell is my problem....My problem is you and your stupid solutions ! “

Armin kept on looking at Eren with his eyes all wide....trying to process his words as Eren continued “ And I am the most dumb person on the Earth! I have no idea why on first place I agreed to your stupid plan....”

Armin frowns a bit as he interrupts Eren's blabbering “ Wait a second...What did you say? Stupid plan? Wow man...what are you really talking about? You told me in the evening that everything was just fine....didnt you?”

Now Eren just got his limit off as he said roughly with a furious glare at Armin “ NOO! EVERYTHING IS JUST NOT FINE! ALRIGHT! I AM FEELING LIKE A SHIT NOW....AN UGLY PIECE OF SHIT! I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT SHE MUST BE THINKING OF ME NOW! ITS ALL BECAUSE OF YOUR STUPID PLAN!”

Armin as he caught off guard “ Oh Hello! Calm down....this is not the time to get hyper Eren! Tell me what did you really do? I dont think if you actually did whatever I told you to do....nothing was supposed to go Haywire!”

Eren just took a deep breath as he fell helplessly on the sofa in the room...

As he face palmed himself and whispers in broken voice  “ I am doomed....”

Armin blinks his eyes confused “ You what?”

Eren glares at him as he says clearly “ I Am DOOMED ARMIN!”

Armin hesitantly “ What does that mean?”

Eren scowls “ You dont get it? Really? Mikasa must be thinking of me as piece of shit....a coward ass hole!”

Armin curiously “ And why would she think like that?”
