Aya is a Ghazzawi who got put in touch with organizer friends of mine in hopes that they could help with promoting her family’s survival fundraiser. Right now, the need is to continue to raise funds. None of my friends’ collective’s organizers have reach on Tumblr, so I’ve been asked to help out. There is no way to clean yourself in Gaza!

Aya ( @familyaya ) sent me photos of what her son has to do to take a shower. A run-down tent, barely hiding what's inside. Wearing shorts and slippers on the plain ground. Using a bucket full of soapy water to wash himself.

That is not cleanliness. This lack of hygiene has a disastrous effect on the people of Gaza. Spread of disease and infection, including illnesses that were eradicated in Gaza in the past, like polio. Skin diseases are widespread, especially among children. Any injuries sustained are in increased danger of getting infected.

The medical system is on its last legs, and the starvation makes the body unable to heal on its own. There is live sewage in what's left of the streets. This is a matter of life and death.

Aya is raising funds for the purpose of improving their lives in this genocide in whatever ways she can. The money will go towards a better tent, food, water, and cleaning products when they can find them, and eventually evacuation. This money can be the difference between life and death for Aya and her family. Please donate what you can, and share so that more people can do so.
