just re-watched first class and feeling insane about how Erik literally made Charles who he is. Erik was the second mutant Charles ever met (after raven). when Charles says “you’re not alone” he’s saying it as much to himself as he is to Erik. and without Erik, Charles would have went to find other mutants with the CIA and would never have taken such a caring protective role with them. Erik showed him the need to build a safe sanctuary for mutants and care for those who felt so alone and unloved.

oh and hey great job to the powers that be on bringing Tom Bombadil onto screen! he feels so steady and wise while also being twinkly and friendly. I feel like a hug from him would fix me 😭
