Lady

Paring: Bucky Barnes x Reader

A/n: I was listening to this song, and reading dad!bucky stories and was inspired.

Lady

You laid in bed trying to fall asleep, being eight months pregnant didn’t help either. You continued to lie there, eyes shut, not wanting to wake Bucky.

You had recently been playing some country music around the house, one because you like it and two, to help Bucky on his pop culture. You’d been playing a lot of the songs you grew up singing and then one that was a lot more recent- Lady by Brett Young.

You felt Bucky sit up, hearing his dog tags clanking. He placed a hand on your bump, hearing him start to sing, “I remember when I first heard your heartbeat.” It was Lady. “It had only been eight weeks. Standing there staring at the screen was the first time you even scared me.” His voice was soft, trying not to wake you. “God knows I don’t know exactly what I’m doing, but good news, we got her to get through it. I hope you look just like your momma, and love her like I do. You’ll see close to perfect patience if you watch her every move. You can always run to daddy, you’ll always be my baby but, look at her, baby girl and you’ll learn. How to be a lady.” He stopped, and kissed your bump before falling back asleep. You opened your eyes and watched his peaceful sleep, smiling after what had happened.

This is all good! I can’t wait for the next part!! ❤️

Since some of you wanted a part two I decided to make this a mini-series that'll consist of several little parts :)  I'll add the main headline when I come up with something. This will do for now. Hope y'all like it!

(MISSED BREAKFAST II)

SMARAGDS AND SCARS

Since Some Of You Wanted A Part Two I Decided To Make This A Mini-series That'll Consist Of Several Little

Warnings: kidnapping, getting beaten up, mentions of death

Part I :

MISSED BREAKFAST
N
I dont know what this is, but I wanted to write something ;) "Have you seen her?" Ducky asked, looking at the team while he stood in the mi

The team could tell he was feeling off.

Constantly rushing through your appartment, barking orders in a bad mood. But they understood.

They all wanted to find you as quick as possible.

"She will be okay, Jethro." Ducky patted his friends shoulder gently. Jethros blue eyes flashed in anger.

"You don't know that."

"Gibbs, we won't find her sooner the grumpier you get..." Jack stated.

The supervisory agent sighed.  "Better find her." He murmured angryly and dissapeared in your bedroom.

That bastard had gotten you. He was almost certain.

You had shot his brother a week ago.

Not because you wanted of course.

You didn't have a choice.

Otherwise he would've killed Gibbs.

So you had pulled the trigger and shot the younger Miller-brother right into the heart.

He remembered how frustrated you were after.

You didn't want to kill him. He was younger than you are and it made you hate yourself that you destroyed such a young life.

So you told him in his basement with a glass of Bourbon in your hand.

He smiled at the thought of that evening.

It had been the first in a longer time that you two have  had a few quiet hours alone.

And enjoyed it, you did. He couldn't remember sleeping much that night.

"Boss, I found something."

He didn't hear McGee entering the room, so his voice made him wince.

He turned, facing his senior agent. There was something in his hand. A broken piece of glass. One of many in the living room. What made this piece so special was the smeared blood on the edge.

He swallowed hardly.

"Bag it in, McGee."

The agent left, already asking Torres for a plastic bag.

Gibbs made his way to the window of your bedroom.

A normal sight.

The street, the opposite house, boys playing catch and your car.

Wait.

He squinted his eyes.

That wasn't yours. Wrong license plate.

So where was your car? You usually parked it in front of your house in the same place every time.

You had proudly told him a while ago that you had convinced your neighbour to hand over his parking lot to you.

Walking back into the room with the main crime scene his eyes searched the floor for any forgotten evidence. His eyes stopped at the sight of the broken glass pieces.

He could only imagine what happened, but the thought of you being hurt scared him, made him angry.

Jack must've noticed his facial expression, because he felt her hand on his shoulder. He stood before him, forcing his eyes to meet hers.

"Hey...you okay?" Her voice was soft. She knew how much you meant to him.

"Yeah. I am fine."

He could see that she was also worrying for you.

"She'll be okay, Gibbs."

His jaw clenched, not trying to form an answer. He knew they all just wanted to comfort him.

But it got on his nerves. You were in serious danger and all they managed to say was "She'll be alright." and  "Everything will be okay."

He placed a lot of authority in his voice.

"Bishop!"

She appeared in the doorframe almost immediatly.

"Yeah, Gibbs?"

"Let everyone search for her car. It isn't there."

She gave him a quick nod, pulling her phone out of the pocket and disappearing into the kitchen with the device on her ear.

He turned to Jack. "Can you go over the profile of the older Miller- brother again? Tell me who he is exactly."

She looked at him a little confused. "You think it is him?"

"Definitly."

He gave him a pet on his chest.

"Don't worry cowboy. I'm on it. Your gut is famous, even in California."

She gave him a reassuring smile before she was gone.

He didn't feel like smiling. Instead he paid a visit to the bathroom.

Torres had checked the room for further evidence.

"Nothing, Gibbs."

Gibbs cursed a little, checking the room briefly with his eyes.

"Do you have a theory?"

The black-haired agent looked couriously at his boss.

Gibbs pursed his lips.

Since Some Of You Wanted A Part Two I Decided To Make This A Mini-series That'll Consist Of Several Little

Another punch got you out of your thoughts. You hoped the events in your appartment would be exactly as you had imagined them. If so, they'd find you.

You felt another painful impact on your face, making you moan. You spit the blood caused by the hit onto the ground and caughed. Your eyes watered and you felt warm blood making its way out of your nose flowing over your lips. The metallic taste on your tongue made you shiver.

"You killed him!"

The man before you was middle-aged, brown haired with intense green eyes. His one cheek was decorated with a huge scar which looked like it was caused by a knife.

You knew that face.

You knew that man.

But he didn't know you knew him better.

Better than he did himself maybe.

During your profiling training you had taken a look at the file of the most-searched brother duo in eastern-USA.

The Miller-brothers.

You've even added your own respected opinion into the description. You had spent hours trying to understand the background of these siblings.

To this moment you still weren't sure if you had succeeded.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you!"

He roughly snatched up your head, forcing your e/c- coloured eyes to meet his.

They remembered you of angryly flashing broken smaragds.

Swallowing hardly you stared at him, trying to catch your breath. Your scalp burned where his hands grabbed your hair to keep you in place.

His voice was a whisper.

A dangerously quiet whisper.

"I will make you regret killing him."

So, let me guess– you just started a new book, right? And you’re stumped. You have no idea how much an AK47 goes for nowadays. I get ya, cousin. Tough world we live in. A writer’s gotta know, but them NSA hounds are after ya 24/7. I know, cousin, I know. If there was only a way to find out all of this rather edgy information without getting yourself in trouble…

You’re in luck, cousin. I have just the thing for ya.

It’s called Havocscope. It’s got information and prices for all sorts of edgy information. Ever wondered how much cocaine costs by the gram, or how much a kidney sells for, or (worst of all) how much it costs to hire an assassin?

I got your back, cousin. Just head over to Havocscope.

((PS: In case you’re wondering, Havocscope is a database full of information regarding the criminal underworld. The information you will find there has been taken from newspapers and police reports. It’s perfectly legal, no need to worry about the NSA hounds, cousin ;p))

Bestie Im Going To Need More Bucky Fluff With Grant And Reader That Was So Perfect

𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 (𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝟐) | 𝐁𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬

Part 1

Pairing: fiancé!bucky x f!mom!reader

Warnings: SFW! Reader has a son and shitty ex. For the sake of using names, the ex’s name is Chris (we love using that name for asshole men here at coffeecatsandcandles). Bucky is so domestic that it hurts. Reader can be any race! Surprise ending 😊

A/N: Thanks for the request! If you all want a part two to another one of my fics I just might consider it…

One Year Later

Bucky had stepped up for Grant, being more than just some guy in your son’s life. He was like a second dad to Grant. Maybe even better than his actual dad.

“That’s all your stuff?” you asked, shifting your head to the side curiously as you wrapped your arms around his waist. Bucky was finally able to move in with you, after months and months of you asking him.

“I told you, I don’t have a lot.” Bucky said, placing a quick peck on your lips before you started helping him move his things where they needed to be. You knew he didn’t have a lot- he preferred not to have a lot of things- but you didn’t want him to feel like he was moving into your space. You (and your bills) agreed that this home was his just as much as it was yours. And with this new space also being accompanied by a six-year-old boy, you didn’t want him to feel overwhelmed.

Grant was more excited about Bucky moving in than both of you combined. It’d gotten on your ex’s nerves a little, his entire visits consisting of Grant talking about Bucky.

They met once. You told your ex, Chris, that you didn’t want Grant to be walking into the house by himself when he dropped him off, so he agreed to start walking in with Grant. For most of those times, Bucky was away- either in your home office or working- so he wasn’t there when Chris dropped Grant off. But there was one single time, months ago, that he was- and things could’ve gotten ugly. Chris mentioned how there was a possibility he couldn’t pick Grant up from school that Tuesday, and Bucky nearly went in protective boyfriend mode. Intimidated by Bucky’s harsh staring, Chris quickly explained that he just had a doctor’s appointment that was cutting it really close to Grant’s pickup time. “You can make it work,” Bucky told him. Chris chuckled a bit, obviously terrified of what Bucky would do to him if he said no. “Yeah, you’re right. I don’t know what I was thinking.” He said to you. You and Bucky laughed about it later that night.

“Bucky! Can you help me please?” Grant called from the kitchen, where he was sat working on his homework on the table. This week’s lesson was in history- and though Grant didn’t know the nasty details about Bucky’s past, he did know that Bucky knew a lot when it came to that subject.

“Sure thing, bud. But hold on-“ he turned to you quickly, dramatically and romantically grabbing your left hand and kissing where he’d put a diamond ring. “Okay, just wanted to make sure it was still there.”

You laughed at how theatrical he was being before he settled next to your son. Bucky asked you to marry him less than a month ago, and you said yes in a heartbeat. He was everything you’d wanted in a man, and everything Grant deserved in a dad. You loved him more and more each day, and you were hoping he’d ask eventually. Everything was falling into place. Bucky was moving in, you were wedding planning, and Grant was about to move from first grade to second.

“Hey, Grant,” You said, earning your six-year-old’s attention, “why don’t you tell Bucky about what your class is doing on Friday?”

“I don’t wanna,” he said, his voice suddenly low and shy.

“Why not? If I can’t do it, Bucky probably can.”

Grant tucked his chin into his chest, avoiding eye contact with Bucky. It was adorable when he got shy like this- you just hoped that one day he’d find the courage to ask for what he wanted. “My class is going to the zoo,” he said, “I wanted Mommy to go with me, but she’s working.”

“Chris is also working,” you said to Bucky. That was a lie. Chris just didn’t want to spend his afternoon walking around a hot, smelly zoo with a bunch of six-year-olds, even if one of them was his own son.

“You want me to go with you?” Bucky offered, to which Grant shyly nodded.

“You don’t have to.” Grant said. It broke your heart. When it came to Grant, you felt things so strongly- he was a sweet, sensitive kid. Even if you got the slightest idea that someone didn’t like your child, you would kick their ass in a heartbeat. That’s how badly you cared about your son.

Bucky grabbed your son’s hand, which was much smaller by comparison. “Grant, I would love to go to the zoo with you.”

Grant’s face lit up, his smile the biggest and brightest you’ve seen in a long time.

Of course, you’d also lied about not being able to go to the zoo, but for a completely different reason.

When Friday came, Bucky sent you pictures of Grant on his field trip. They both looked so happy- it nearly brought tears to your eyes. And you knew it was taking a lot out of Bucky to send you those pictures; he admitted to you that technology, as much as it fascinated him, still confused him a lot of the time. The fact that he took the time to take those pictures and send them to you meant so much.

You began to set up the kitchen, the timer of the oven going off when Bucky sent you a text saying that he decided to pick up Grant from school once they got back. Taking the soft chocolate chip cookies out of the oven, you carefully set them on the counter, letting them cool off before arranging them on a plate.

Shortly after, you heard the front door open from the kitchen, and your heart began to race.

“Hi honey,” Bucky said, smiling upon seeing you, “something smells good.”

You brought a cookie to his mouth as he took a bite, then grabbing the treat from you.

“Mommy! I saw a monkey at the zoo and it was bigger than me! Then we saw a giraffe and a parrot- they let me feed them!” Grant excitedly said, breathlessly trying to tell you every single detail from his field trip.

“Did you have fun, sweetie pie? Bucky sent me all the pictures.” You said, kneeling down to his level and kissing his forehead.

“Yeah! I wanna go again tomorrow!”

You laughed. “Maybe over the summer we can all go together. But can you do me a favor right now?”

Still breathless, Grant nodded.

“Can you go upstairs and start on your homework, if you have any? If not, you can just play for a little bit. I need to talk to Bucky. A conversation for grown-ups only right now.”

Looking back up at Bucky, you saw his eyebrows furrow in confusion. Had he done something wrong? Did he make you upset? You didn’t sound upset, but maybe you were trying to keep it together for Grant.

Every doubt he’d ever had came to his mind while the two of you watched Grant go upstairs to his room. Were you ready to dump him? Maybe his past life was too much for you to handle. Maybe you were done with helping him through his nightmares. Or worse- maybe Chris had finally stepped up without him knowing, and you wanted to go back to him. Have Grant be with his real dad, and have a perfect, nuclear family.

You wrapped your arms around Bucky tightly, much to his confusion. “I love you.” You said. You’d said it before, many times, but this time sounded different.

“I love you too, honey.” He said, “Are you okay?”

You nodded, “You’re just- perfect. You know that? From dealing with all my crazy to being the father figure that Grant deserves. I am so excited to marry you.”

Bucky’s nerves eased a little. “I’m excited to marry you, too.”

Pressing his lips against yours, Bucky could feel how nervous you were. There was more you needed to tell him.

With your forehead pressed against his, your faces inches apart, you whispered the words he hadn’t expected to hear, but brought an instant joy. “I’m pregnant.”

As soon as Bucky heard those words, it was as if he could physically feel everything fall into place perfectly. He’d just moved in. You two were about to get married. And now, you were carrying another perfect bundle of joy for him to take care of. “Really?” he asked, his voice soft as he gently hovered his hands over your stomach.

You nodded. “That’s why I couldn’t go with Grant- I had an appointment, and I’m about eight weeks along, so we can’t tell him yet-“

“Oh my god, he’s gonna be so excited,” Bucky said, unable to control the smile on his face, “I’m already so excited. I don’t care if we have to postpone the wedding, if we have to put all my things in storage to make room… oh my god, I love you so much. You’re a goddess.” He kissed all over your face, causing you to laugh.

Bucky never imagined this was the life he was going to live. After so many years of thinking he was nothing- undeserving of love, unworthy of anything more than a second glance- he finally had the life he always dreamed of, and he owed it all to you.
