Honestly I can imagine when Simon is asked what happened to Maral, it would just be him staring off into the distance, or down at his drink, and just this lone set of images showing a green fire burning in the distance. He can’t answer.

I know in the F&C universe where Simon is practically alone, Maral succumbed to the Lich once more through Death’s son giving life to him once more. And she never really got out of that mindset, nor returned.

This is probably common knowledge but one thing I picked up from the episode "Simon Petrikov" is that Simon is often itching the back of his head. And it's also every time Fionna and Cake is mentioned!

Here he is itching right after Dirt Beer Guy mentions Fionna and Cake.

And here he is doing it again more intensely after he himself mentions Fionna after reading the book.

He isn't itching here but the blue glow started after Evil Choose Goose mentions Fionna and Cake.

And again after Cake jumps out of his head haha. But I find it interesting because this connects to what was happening with Cake in the first episode!

Cake is often sensing something going on with ice, but it's not as intense as nothing happens when Cake explores it. But at the end it grows more powerful. Every time Fionna and Cake is mentioned, Simon itches the back of his head and Cake senses something going on with ice. This had probably been figured out already but it's very clear that after Simon returned to normal, Fionna and Cake's world lost all of it's magic and they basically are stuck like that within his mind... Well- until now.

Fionna mentioned how it's been 3 days since she started dreaming of an Ice Prince, and 3 days since Cake stopped eating. So whatever Simon's been up to started about 3 days ago too. Anyways that's all I got!
