Act 2 Theta
Short explanation: She’s happier :)
Long explanation: Theta wanted to separate herself from her celestial roots. She was raised by a celestial parent whom was a warrior, and forced to follow rigid rules and regulations. She was to hate humans, but live alongside them, as she was to take care of those who were ignorant and “too stupid to take care of themselves”. Her mother’s hatred was rooted in the fact she loved and lost a human partner, who abandoned her years and years ago. (Sound familiar ppl who grew up w religious trauma /waves)
And once Theta was kidnapped by the ship and forced to be without her mother, all she could do was follow what she was told— To be rigid, cold, and unfeeling. Throughout act 1, early act 2, she started to learn how to be herself! :> and in turn, wanted to be more human. So, with her companions help, she abandoned her more rigid ways to live more freely— Which helped her starting to be more herself.
To learn to love yourself is a monumental task. I just think it’s funny all it took was getting infected with a mindflayer tadpole to have Theta realize she can be who she wants, not who she’s ‘destined to be’.
