Idk if anyone remembers from my last blog or over on twitter but I absolutely ADORE Jinmenken ( aka Manjimutt) with all my heart and HATE how the anime treated this pupper. He is my top favorite Yokai and biggest comfort character too, he literally means so much to me 🥺

It’s been a real long time since I last drew him so I decided to draw him a bit to get back used to drawing him again. I then decided to him with Fumika’s ( Katie’s ) dad since I actually have this huge AU where Fumi actually got the watch instead of Keita ( Nate ) and in the part of the story where she incounters Jinmenken, I see befriending him and after some more stuff happening he ends up at her house and her folks end up seeing him, but as a kinda “ugly” dog instead of a human thanks to a special collar for dog Yokai. It’s a lot to explain so I’ll ofc go into more detail later, but for now I can say that after Fumi explains that she “found” Jinmenken needing help, she decided to help the pup until her and her parents found his actual owner. The mom is fine with this but the dad just bonds with Jinmenken fast and the two become inseparable ^^;; Again there are details missing but I will explain better later <:3

Now for something rather old... from many years ago when I returned to my hyper fixation for the Beatles movie the Yellow Submarine :3

If you're new here you probably aren't aware that back in 2013 I became invested in this amazing film, and created aton of Blue Meanie OCs as well as many concepts and ideas for the world of Pepperland. I won't get into too much here but over on instagram I have been chatting with someone who currently loves the film as much as I do when I was younger, and she inspired me to look back at my archives and that resulted in finding this unfinished work. 

What is shown here are sketches of Chief, Max, and the many OCs I have created under the Major sub-species of Blue Meanie ( yes I AM going that deep into things ) and so far I only colored in two of my characters back then. I'm not sure why I never finished these but I'm now deciding to post these as is, I suspect I never finished these is because I liked the sketches too much to lineart them and the coloring didn't look that good with just the sketch.

If you aren't aware I made art of what I feel Mckrakens parents might look like/be, since I'm starting to get back into yokai watch I thought I might as well redo these twos first picture! Since I honestly didn't like how they looked after these years >>;; Gonna just put their old info here sinc they haven't changed -->

Marina is Squisker's younger sister, the do similarities show. She has a relaxed and calm demeanor but will become passionate about something if she takes great interest in said thing/event. Marina was always with her older brother growing up, both acting similar to best friends in ways.

Octavious's name comes from his "oblivious" nature, when in reality he actually is very observant. He too is very calm and relaxed but will jump into action when needed. His side of the family have feline genes due to his great grandfather being a bakéneko, this also explains his and Mckrakens cat like actions (and his folded ears).

I also decided to go into more of their lives since I never did so back then. Octavious's family is actually a long line of farmers believe it or not! While Marinas upbringing was rather lavish, Octavious had more humble beginnings. Shown here is Octavious starting to show young Mckraken the ropes of farming and planting crops, as well as Marina teaching him how to use kitchen tools, these come into play as Mckraken gets older since he is very skilled with cooking and such :3

Omg yes I was wondering what happened! I’m so so sorry it’s taken this long to get back to you tho XC I checked yesterday and I was confused as to why your icon was an anon one. Yee! My gf and I have actually been constructing a huge AU story with Mckraken life as well as a story for Fumi/Katie getting the watch instead. We’re working on them via rps so most are already written down :3 we just need to write them in the formats of a proper fic than rp lol

I'm trying to explain to my friends that Chairman Mckraken is so interesting to me, but I'm AWFUL with words so UGH.

I wish we had more content on him because most of my opinion has to be extracted from the small bits that we get in canon. Or fanon/hcs. That too. I tend to like characters who are basically if the kniving joke villain was an actual threat and wELL. The alternate timeliness doesn't look fun (profuse sweating). He throws little puns in there and he's condescending af to anyone of no use to him 😭 he's terrible and perfect at the same time. I love him <3

I also just love that his redemption arc was implied, but all IN THE BACKGROUND. From 1-2 he got caught at some point I think. Maybe. I don't know the timeliness gets a little funky sometimes. And in 3, he's running not 1 but 2 restaurants to pay off a debt (again ??? I think so) and by 4, he's calmed down enough to where you can actually befriend!!! Yay!! Unfortunately there's low hope for Shadowside translation, but it's something!

I love to make up a little backstory for him about what might have caused his initial views, and what happened during his redemption. I want to see more interactions with Dr. Maddiman and maybe even Micchī since he might very worked with him due to the whole seal debacle. (If that's even the same Mitsumata to be fair).
