Resisting And Failing To Not Give Into The Urge To Talk About A Show With A Dead Fandom But... People
Resisting and failing to not give into the urge to talk about a show with a dead fandom but... people did not understand Raimundo Pedrosa's arc and I still have no idea why they thought Raimundo was misogynistic to Kimiko when he's literally her personal cheerleader LMAO.
Most of these people were Jack/Kimiko shippers, but Raimundo was the only person on the team who wasn't misogynistic to Kimiko - not once throughout this entire show does he think she's less capable than him just because she's a girl. These people really looked me in the eye and said "not only is Raimundo underserving of Kimiko he is also undeserving of his leadership role"
ong... we did not watch the same show...
I still don't understand how they could have come to the conclusion Raimundo wasn't deserving of Kimiko or leadership when Raimundos whole story is about how you can achieve greatness despite fucking up in the worst way possible. They rlly said the character who's main theme is kindness was the worst one to be a leader... even though this show makes a point about how being the best fighter doesn't make you the best leader through Omi's and Raimundos relationship.
These fellas really watched Raimundo's arc culminate when he took Kimiko's spot in an unfair AND LETHAL fight even though he wasn't the best fighter on the team and said "wow what an asshole he thinks Kimiko can't fight as well as him - he rlly is undeserving of her love and leadership LOL"
LIKE??? How... How is he an asshole... This kid was actually prepared to die when he took Kimiko's spot in the Final Showdown... AND he would rather risk his own life than Omi's - even though he knows Omi is the best fighter they have... because you know... he loves his teammates and doesn't want to see them get murked by literal villains...

I love how in your incorrect quotes, Raimundo comes across being the semi-responsible older brother figure worried about Chase being a bad influence on Omi. Like in a guardianship way, not just a Heylin way. I half expect them to get into an argument over whether Omi's allowed to have sugary cereal with marshmallows for breakfast, with Chase being 'for' and Raimundo being 'against.'
Well, that's more-or-less how the dynamic with the three of them plays out in the series.
What are you talking about? He's the enemy, Omi.
Hey, how did Chase get out?!
Hey, Omi beat you fair and square!
Hey, why's he helping us?!
Omi is going nowhere, except back home with us!
You're not gonna join in?
Raimundo is very vocal about hating Chase, especially hating any interaction between Omi and Chase or pushing back against any effect he notices Chase having on Omi.
The hostility is somewhat mutual. Though not as laser-focused on Raimundo, since Chase, broadly speaking, doesn't like any of the monks' affects on Omi. He said he thinks the friendship between them is "nauseating" and tries to pull Omi away from that direction or isolate him from their sphere.
Chase and Raimundo both definitely see the other primarily as an absolutely terrible influence on Omi.
Can I request a drawing of whichever of Kimiko's outfits is your favorite?

Clay went into this match furious at Jesse, betrayed and insulted by her again, trying hard to remind himself to close his heart off to her entirely because it always just ends in him getting hurt
And the second she's in danger, he drops all of that, forgets they're even fighting
Clay can harden his heart.
He can be tough when he needs to, and he can stick by it. We saw him do it when Raimundo betrayed them all and Clay took on the protective role for Omi and Kimiko's sake. He didn't falter in his caution and anger towards Raimundo whenever he came after them again and again, didn't soften his stance when Raimundo tried to offer them a place in the luxurious castle with him and Wuya, didn't hesitate to counter and defend when Raimundo attacked. Clay knows how to stand on business
Except with Jesse
The one person he'll never, ever truly be able to harden his heart towards, no matter what she does or how distant they grow or how hard he pretends he doesn't care anymore, is Jesse
He tries, he really does. He'll put up a front and try not to think of her, but he'll always love her too much to truly stop caring, and he'll always stop short the moment things get serious against her
He'll always forget every drop of bad blood that exists between them as soon as she's in danger and she needs him
She could betray his trust a million times and he'd still reflexively jump to catch her if he sees her falling
He adores his sister more than anything in this world. They don't want to be in the same room as each other right now and can hardly stand to breathe the same air, but when push comes to shove, he'd do anything for her
And Jesse trusts that Clay feels that way. Jesse fully believed in Clay's reflex to protect her. Otherwise she wouldn't have taken the dive and risked the fall in the first place
Jack: There are times where I feel you don’t take me seriously.
Chase: …There are times you feel I do?
