A very quick comic about me hyperfixating. The first three panels are captioned “Alex 2018”. They show 13-year-old me sitting in the car, eating off a plate, and reading a book while smiling like a little idiot. There are expressive abstract shapes around me and inner dialogue that reads, “and then Cinder stormed into the ballroom to see”, “before he told her he was actually a spy”, and “VERY EXCITING WOW AMAZING SO COOL BEST THING EVER”. The next three panels are captioned “Alex 2024”, and they show me at work (where a kid is putting stuffed animals on me), swinging on a swing with headphones on, and sitting at a laptop, all with the same googley-eyed smile. These panels have inner dialogue that, when read together, reads, “when he got run down by a hearse and was badly concussed, and bleeding, and the blood was actually the first variation of color in the whole comic”.

Not a day goes by…
