Hi, love your blog. When I was a woman I was obsessed with getting small and skinny to the point of disordered eating habits. I was one of those girls on ED sites and keywords 😂 I love gaining weight and muscle now, and I love how much more masculine it makes me feel. My past as a skinny girl is a distant memory. The bigger I get the more I feel like a man.

Best ed recovery strat is getting as big as possible. The old you quite literally dies and is buried by your true self.

possibly a silly question but how often do you hit abs (asking to feel better about myself if I'm being honest lol, i do basic ab circuits n stuff but i'm not trying to get a stomach anywhere on the flatter side) glad to see you up n back btw (with some insane fucking writings?1? loved them)

mini life update i'm cutting my own hair tonight aswell, unfortunately my barber wasn't in today so js went n said fuck it I don't have quite the patience.. it's already short but I'm hoping i just don't fuck up the layers and the back + soon enough i WILL be able to send in some muscle pics/ progress btw. i just been kinda out trust

I used to obsessively work out abs like. Every other day for 15-30 minutes and a full hour circuit maybe 2x times a week depending. Now I do incline crunches, incline Russian twist (both weighted) and weighted hanging leg raises about once a week for 2-3 sets each, and then maybe some planking. I do a full at-home ab circuit once a week at this point but mostly just to maintain core strength. Even at my leanest and obsessively doing ab work I didn’t have a 6-pack, my adominal muscles seem to be suited to “11s” style abs. It’s hard to tell in my recent pic but that is more fat than I’ve maybe ever had on my abdomen, more noticeable when bending over.

I cut my own hair too but it’s because I just buzz it. I hate barbers, sitting still, talking,, no rush on the pics it’s enough to know you’re staying inspired and consistent

Hiii, chubby trans guy here looking to get fit but not really knowing where to start! :’) I got top surgery a couple months back and my tdick is growing but I still look so curvy and feminine, I just want to be strong and confident. Words of advice for a pathetic little guy?

Congrats on top surgery! It’s hard to know for sure what you should prioritize since I can’t see your body, but finding a beginner lifting routine that works and is realistic for you is a good start. It take 3-5 years for muscle structure and body fat to fully redistribute, sometimes longer if you have a high body fat % — which isn’t good or bad it’s just something to know. Personally, I prefer to fuck someone with a lot of meat on their bones (muscular fat or thicc if you will).

You may need to focus on your upper body a little more right now and work your lats/delts/pecs more often, but don’t skip leg day entirely. You need a balanced physique and ideally an X shaped body. As I’ve proven time and time again, curves aren’t even the feminine necessarily,,

I’m still nearly an “hourglass” but it reads as fitness guy instead of girl figure and I haven’t been misgendered in years. Don’t you want to have a big strong wide back and a perfect ass? Give your partner something to grab onto

I love cooking for my partner but for myself I’m constantly eating what I’d refer to as boy slop (a pile of any sort of carb, a handful of vegetables, and a mountain of plain group meat or another protein) usually coated in some extremely high caloric sauce. Most people would be obese from my diet but that’s just my blessing and curse. The idea of eating “gross” food combinations just to get in my macros and stuff myself with calories to grow..eating like a bull that just needs to get bigger and bigger, too dumb to even think about the taste.

Do you do subq or intramuscular?

I do intramuscular but I’ve heard subq is better for your liver, but it’s not available at the free clinic I use so I stay with im injections for now. I do once weekly shots in my ass, used to do the thighs only which was so stupid and let to a small bit of scar tissue on one thigh, so I stopped doing that.

I lost at arm wrestling with an annoying cis guy the other day. I put up a good fight and held out, but I'm still pissed off. You're my motivation to get big and burly and beat him.

Funny story, when I started lifting I couldn’t bench or squat more than the bar itself. At the time I was humiliated, but just today I finally hit my goal of benching 135 like it’s nothing, just a warm up. What at one time was a humiliation will become a point of pride that you tried even when you were nervous/unsure/inexperienced. Cis guys will be jealous of your drive and gains in as little as a year if you put your mind to it. When you struggle listen to the voice in your head telling you how worth it it will all be when you’re a regular gym rat indistinguishable from any other cis meathead.

Any advice for closeted ftms who want to get big but have no access to equipment/a gym? I've been trying to eat big too but simply don't have the stomach capacity to eat enough it's going to help me bulk. I despise how skinny I am but sometimes I feel like there's no hope for me... I feel small and weak and I hate it

Your stomach won’t like you for a while but there are real strategies for this. Our stomachs can only take as much food as we give them on a regular basis, hence eating less for an extended period of time lowers appetite and stomach capacity. Force yourself to add extra calories wherever you can, even if it’s just in condiments. If you feel sick for a while that’s normal, eat one extra thing at every meal every single day. No compromises, even if it’s one single egg or slice of cheese or 5 almonds idc. If you do this it works 100% of the time unless you have a serious medical problem, because the stomach is flexible and the hormones that trigger our appetites can be changed by our actions. Eat before you’re hungry, waiting until you’re hungry is losing the battle of bulking. I am a hard gainer and have gained 25lbs this year doing this, and despite on paper being “overweight” I am still very slim because it was almost all muscle gain. You’ll probably be similar and have more minimal fat gain if that’s your genetics.

For at home workouts I would recommend looking at r/ftmfitness and their body weight exercise info. You can make weights by filling milk jugs with sand or gravel or even just water if you are starting out totally new. Hard gainers like us typically need more than body weight exercises to really build mass though, simply because there is less weight to move around. If this advice doesn’t work come back, tell me what you’re doing, and I’ll beat for beat tell you how to improve.

I've been lurking around some of your posts for a lil bit.

Then I started thinking about how I used to want to workout and my mum always used to tell me that I didn't want to be a muscular woman.

Not that I listened really, I was like yeah I do though.

Well turns out she was right about half of that lol.

I've been thinking about actually taking the plunge to work out lately.

I've always been kind of physically strong but I'll admit that I'm sad that it barely translates to looking strong for me.

The one thing still holding me back is not knowing if I'll be able to keep up consistency.

Consistency advice is tricky because I have OCD so the consistency for me is like…Not an option if ykwim. But I find that recording your workouts in an app like Strong that tracks your pr’s and how many times you go a week can help keep you accountable. There’s an app called 7 as well that gives you 7 minute workouts that are for beginners on their exercise journey.

I used to secretly lift very, very poorly as a middle schooler/teenager and wanted so badly to be big and bulky but had no fucking idea what I was doing at all. I hated being in my body so much I s2g I didn’t know how to move if it wasn’t running or doing a sport where I could turn my brain off. I ended up not lifting for several years because I hated my body so much I was barely living. So I feel you and it sucks! But there’s always time to start.

If you have strength that’s a starting point, the muscle mass will come with eating a lot, hrt, and time. I’m music stronger than I look and stronger than many cis guys that are bigger than me, but I wasn’t doing bodybuilding routines at that time. Just take the plunge and even if you aren’t consistent there will still be changes, and the more you do it the better you’ll feel and you will start to crave it.

It’s pretty real! I am obviously also a person with constraints of life (such as 2 jobs) but I am not joking when I say I never lift less than 3x a week, but recently I go at least 4-5 in an attempt to pack on mass as quickly as possible. I had to take time away because I was already dealing with some serious stress, but I’m feeling much better and have been meeting my weight gain goals by eating like a vacuum. I appreciate the support ☺️

Stretching the limits of my stomach today with 6 eggs, 5 medium sized potatoes cooked in olive oil, bowl of cherry tomatoes and cucumber, 2 double cheese burgers and 10 chicken nuggets, a protein bar and glass of milk, 1/2c of almonds, and I still need to chug a protein shake before I sleep. I’ve been gaining pretty well but it’s not enough I want to push the limit of how much muscle I can gain until December and up my T dose each week for a while. I’m already up 25lbs from last year if I could gain another 15 that would be perfect. Imagining my family seeing me +40lbs fucking tank, wearing the same sweater that fit perfectly last year but is now stretched to the limit..,
