Not much to say about the first and third one, but the second? I decided to make like- some sort of plant parasite. Thats why the lizard looks so sick.
Below are a collection of my discord messages about this (I know that probably won't work, but this is fiction, so like- why not):
the parasitic one starts out as a seed sack. After it's eaten, it starts growing a bit more, causing discomfort to it's current host. If the creature is big enough, and it has enough nutrients to let the parasite grow to adulthood, it eventually starts absorbing and stops functions of various organs, which causes the creature to die. Through decomposed and soft flesh, it sprouts a flower, that then turns into a seed sack, a tasty treat!
If the creature isn't big enough, after the plant starts absorbing it's organs, it will become an easy target for larger predators, and it goes on the same as before.
A seed sack is something like a sporepuff, filled with popcorn plant-like seeds
Something a slugcat would likely eat! :3
Rain deer like sporepuffs, and a seed sack is similar to them...
Could be an explanation as to why rain deer are so stupid
You would not be a good mount, while your insides are eaten by a plant
