The Master, meanwhile, is fluent in the languages yes; they’re human languages it’s not like they’re complicated; but hasn’t bothered to ‘go native’ and perfect their pronunciation because it’s such a waste of time to lower themself to that drivel when they can use their superior Time Lord technology to translate for them and make them sound however they need

Which means that The Master has a ridiculously thick High Gallifreyan accent

And since we always describe High Gallifreyan as being song-like…

-TARDIS breaks down and translation circuit is no longer functional-

Master: -speaks in high gallifreyan to the doctor-

Doctor: no, come on, we can’t do this all by ourselves, you have to include the others in the conversation as well

Master: -starts scribbling out their words on a piece of paper-

Doctor: no, we don’t have time for that! we need to figure out what we’re going to do now and don’t have time for you to sit there writing everything down; come on, i know you speak english, just say what you need to say

I think Rose Tyler’s ending gets worst when you think about it from the people of the Powell Estate’s point of view.

Because Rose was one of the few who got out, who saw the world, who still visited her mom who was so proud of her, who met a guy who treated her right and visited with her.

Rose Tyler was hope, hope that they could get out too one day

And yet (of what they know) she still died there, just like they all though they would before they saw her leave and now they’re back to square one because what’s the point of leaving if you’re still going to die here?

And then they find out Jackie’s dead too and they don’t even know if they died together.

They don’t know Rose’s boyfriend’s name so they don’t if he’s alive, and if he isn’t, was he with Rose or were separated in the panic?

They don’t know, they just know they lost hope.

Thinking today (again and unsurprisingly) about Amy and Rory. Specifically, about how Rory didn't get to say even the vaguest of goodbyes to the Doctor and River when his true depart finally came.

Knowing they were able to be together after that for the rest of time is not enough. The Angels Take Manhattan breaks me to think about, everytime.
