He sat, looking out over the valley that had once been so full of laughter and joy. Now, it was empty, the person he had shared it with buried in a grave on the rise. The man wiped tears from his face, being careful of the band of gold and diamond that sat on his finger.

In another section of the world, a burned castle sat, smoke and flames still erupting from the ruins in random. A weary traveller sat there, watching the destruction continue, plotting how he was going to survive.

In the desert, a pit of rubble and blood lay, bearing the scars of a war-torn land. Another traveller stood there, longing for what had once been, and hoping that the war would be over, one way or another.

Above their heads, ghosts swirled, invisible to the living. They wanted a fight. They were angry.
