Hey, Hey, Hey!

Hey, hey, hey!
2018 is coming to an end, and to sum it up I announce voting for your favourite anime and manga stuff.
The series you vote for don’t have to be released this year, you should vote for the stuff that were really important to you this year. The point is to look back at the passing year and have fun!
To vote you have to fill a Google form here until December 24th!
I’ll make an edit for the most popular stuff in each category + the list with your favourite fanfics on December 31st, so stay tuned!

Okay so about a week ago @foureyes48 posted about a nightmare they had that really upset them and I couldn’t get it out of my mind, I mean it really stuck in my subconscious and I needed to sort it out. So I wrote something to hopefully soothe our collective subconscious! Not incredibly happy with it quality-wise, but I feel like I needed to do this more for the sake of catharsis than as an expression of skill. @foureyes48 I hope you don’t mind!
E & L were married and on Levi’s 50th birthday, he realises Eren is still 35 and he gets worried because of old he is and starts avoiding him despite Eren trying to cheer him up and Eren gets really worried and one day finds divorce papers in Levi’s desks and confronts him about it. Levi explains how it would be better for Eren to find someone else who can keep Eren happy and Eren desperately tries to prove his love for him in every way possible but Levi’s still not convinced and he proceeds with the divorce order anyway and Eren begs and begs him, saying that he’ll do anything but Levi just believes Eren deserves better and they really do break up and it’s 12:38 a.m here I’m sobbing so hard
“I’m sure I remember you saying you wish we had a fire in our bedroom,” Eren shrugged, hovering over Levi’s shoulder as he smothered the last embers.
“In a fireplace, dipshit. Spontaneously setting my documents alight wasn’t what I had in mind.”

Wait, wait wait. What is this intriguing Publish to AO3 Google Doc? I write all my stuff in Google Drive, but I agonize through fixing the formatting when I paste it from there into AO3. Have I been missing something magical?
THIS IS ABOUT TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
So, on the AO3 “Cool Stuff” FAQ, there is a link to this document under “Posting and Managing Works.”
THIS IS THE BEST DOCUMENT IN ALL OF HISTORY. Basically, it has a script in it that has a “Post to AO3″ option and it will go in and fill in ALL the HTML you need - italics, bold, paragraph breaks, you name it!
It has directions in it for how to use it, but it’s real simple. You just always chose “Make a Copy” when you start writing to make a new document that you can then re-name. Change the language to American English (or whatever language you use) and type away. Then right before you post, click the button, get all the code in there, copy, paste, AND POST.
It is literally so, so glorious and I want to tell everyone.
(Also, the AO3 Cool FAQ page has some other cool stuff too!)

Just in case this needs to be said:
It’s the first draft. Use the word “suddenly.” Put as many dialogue tags and adverbs as you want. Say “he saw” “she remembered” “she felt” “they wondered” as many times as you need to. Put the em dash there, put in too many commas, use semi-colons with reckless abandon. Type in [whatever] instead of thinking up a title for something. Just write it. If you worry too much about the particulars, about all the advice posts you’ve seen saying whatever you’re doing is wrong or not good enough, you won’t get anything done. It will slow you down as you go back and try to reword what you just wrote to make it better, proper. The first draft doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be done. And when you get to the end, you’ll find that all those “mistakes” are just clues for your future self to put together to make it all better.
Putting in adverbs and certain dialogue tags are a note for you as to who is saying something and how they’re saying it. When you’re editing, you can make sure it shows through the story instead. The word “suddenly” is a reminder to make things more abrupt. The first draft is just you mapping out where you want to go and how you want to get there. Don’t waste time trying to get it 100% right now, because then it will never get done. Don’t think too much– just write. Save the thinking for editing later.
