Some of the most annoying worm fans are the ones who are so poisoned by power scaling nonsense that their only criticisms are nitpicks like "Jack not being able to lose to parahumans is bullshit" or "Lung gets worfed because he always loses to Taylor how is only X level"

They forget that these elements are in here for narrative reasons and not so you can put these characters on a fake Tier list and argue with strangers on r/Whowouldwin.

Jack not losing to parahumans challenges many the characters notions about treating regular humans as an after thought and shows that maybe powers are not the best solution for every situation.

This same thing applies basically any superhero or action story.

Drawing of the "Woe, plague be upon ye" meme, with the Siberian from Worm throwing a tiny Riley (Bonesaw) Davis. Her legs are missing, revealing a long mechanical tail and the text reads "Woe, Bonesaw be upon ye."

Did you know that Blasto isn't actually a tinker?

That's right! He actually has a tiny (normal size) Bonesaw living in his brain and ratatouilleing him at all times to make him build all his famous inventions like.

mushrooms. and

angel wizards.

She does this because Jack won't let her have any weed

In fact, this ratatouilleing is why Blasto was so susceptible to normal size (normal size) Bonesaw's bodyjacking after Defiant cut her in half

Her prehensile spine doesn't even have a bodyjacking function.

Blasto's just like that

The more you know!

This Interaction Is So Funny Knowing That Coil Is The One Who Hired The Travelers And Brought Them To

This interaction is so funny knowing that Coil is the one who hired the Travelers and brought them to Brockton Bay. You can't convince me he didn't rehearse this in one of his alternative timelines. It really feels like he opens the interaction this way to put as much distance from the idea of them being connected to him as possible

The background detail about how the absurd jockeying, politicking, and posthumous stunts at the post-endbringer funeral services forced the cape community to come up with the most non-denominational, non-specific memorial monument possible in order to avoid a media clownshow every three months, and that they’ve now got a warehouse full of these obelisks ready to get inscribed with the names of the fallen and deployed at the attack sites before the fires are completely out- this is, not exactly parody, but it is, like. Deeply deeply deeply fucking funny.

Tragic! And an excellent synedoche for the larger co-ordination problems and ingrained cynical fatalism facing the setting. But also darkly funny, and in a way enabled by the logic of the superhero tropes in play even though it’s hard to read it as an attack on any specific trope.
