Kathryn Kuhlman Was A Powerful Christian Evangelist Who Over Several Decades Preached, Healed And Transformed

Kathryn Kuhlman was a powerful Christian evangelist who over several decades preached, healed and transformed the lives of many. She is regarded by some as the greatest female Christian minister of the 20th century. While her life and what she spoke over the years was remarkable, in her final days what she also spoke was even more remarkable and thought provoking. While hospitalized and accelerating quickly to a fateful end, she predicted not only the day she would die, but also the precise hour and minute. As she prophesized, it was at exactly 1:13 AM on February 20, 1976.
This got me to thinking that 1:13 AM is one out of 1,440 minutes that we all sweep through each day, and just like on the second hand of a clock, one of those minutes will be the precise minute of when all of us will pass from the here to the hereafter.
Unlike Katheryn, we have no idea when that minute will come. She was ready for that exact minute at 1:13 AM when an angel would meet her and take her to heaven...but how about you? She was a faithful, obedient disciple of Christ and her name was written in the Book of Life (the book of all those that are going to heaven.) Is your name in that book? If not, here is how you can be sure.
Commit right now IN THIS SECOND to confess to God that you want to have your name written in the Book of Life. All you need to do is ask God to forgive you of your sins and decide to be faithful and obedient to God from this second forward. When you do, He will heal your spiritual heart so that when your earthly heart stops beating in one of those 1,440 earthly minutes, the first heavenly minute will begin.
Right now, you are alive in THIS minute, and there may only be 1,439 minutes more until your last minute comes. Not only is today the day of salvation, but this minute is the time! Don’t delay because a time is coming when you will not only have a minute, but will not have a SECOND (chance) left.

When I was five years old there was a very steep rocky cliff near my house. One day I sat on the edge of this precipice wondering how far I could scoot off the edge, so I moved down a few inches and all was fine. So I slid down a little further and it seemed easy to get back up if I wanted to.
So far so good.
I slid down a LITTLE MORE... but then the rocks under my behind slowly started to be a little slippery! Although I carefully tried to scoot back up, each time I did I slid a few inches more until finally I was going down the slope at a steady - then quick rate until it was as slick as a slide in the playground!
Fortunately I ended up at the bottom, crying hysterically, but safely winding up in an old man’s backyard terrified at what I had done, and wondering how I could get back up to the top. The kindly elder gentleman managed to pry my name out of me between my tears, looked up our home phone number in the white pages (remember those?!?) and called my mother to come pick me up.
Secret sins in our life are just like that slippery slope. While things may start off innocently enough and are 'So far so good ' like flirting with a co-worker behind your spouse’s back, experimenting with drugs, or secretly doing things you know are wrong. Before you realize it, it gets to point where you are in too deep - and just like being on that rocky slope - you can’t get back and it keeps accelerating until you keep sliding down to your doom.
Although you crash into the bottom of your slippery slope and it seems like there is no way back up to the top, there is a solution!
“Then I confessed my sins to you (and) I did not conceal my wrongdoings. I decided to confess them to you, and You FORGAVE ALL MY SINS.” Psalm 32:5
God is quick to forgive and restore you back home. His number is in the book of the 'White Pages of the Bible,' Call on Him, and HE will restore you to the top.

If you look at this picture, we can all honestly say that our path along the road of life has never been perfectly straight. In fact the road is a bit wavy, and the question is WHY.
We have all had the experience of driving when something to the left or right side of the road catches our eye, and once we take our eyes off of looking forward, the car out drifts out of the lane and we start weaving.
This is a great analogy of what often happens in life. If we were to keep our eyes on God and follow His direction we would always stay in the centerline of the road, but as soon as we allow ourselves to get distracted by things that catch our attention that are outside of God’s truth, we start weaving and the road is made crooked.
Look...nobody is perfect and we all have and will make mistakes, but as today’s scripture admonishes us, keep your eyes on God and follow His precepts. When you do, you’ll never go in the wrong direction and will safely stay on your road through this life.

Most people 'know' about Christ as an historical figure, and many people believe, think or 'know' that there is a god or some sort of cosmic force out there. But also among church-goers, theologians, and Bible scholars they also 'know'and can reliably recite the teachings, doctrine, and the thinking of Christianity, but that is not the KNOW that Jesus is talking about in today’s verse.
Like the word LOVE in English which has many shades of meaning (e.g. I love my mother, -vs- I love coffee) the word KNOW in this context goes beyond intellectual understanding or recognition of a fact or possibility. Jesus is saying that we would know God in the sense of an intimate relationship and bond with a person, much like in marriage or in family to a person. It is a personal relationship and communion with God that has nothing to do with intellectual knowledge or theology.
Christ’s prayer here in John 17 is subtitled in most Bibles as The Prayer Of Intercession where He is praying that those that are His followers and lovers of God would draw close to Him and “Be ONE, even as we are one” [ John 17:21 ]
Friend, are you “ONE” with God? Do you know Him not just intellectually or as a matter of fact or history or by what you have heard but KNOW HIM as you would your closest friend, parent, or spouse? If not, please don’t re-think about who God is or what the Bible words written simply say, but draw closer to him, be cause He promises to “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” [ James 4:8 ] Then, and only then, will you fully KNOW HIM.

Jim Croce was a wonderful folk/pop singer who composed and performed many great songs, and one of his most heartfelt one was “I Gotta Name.” In it he emotionally describes his path through this world and how he is moving through life with strength, courage and resolve.
All of us have a name given by our parents while on earth, but did you know that in eternity all those with God will have their own special God-given name? As today’s verse says, he calls those that are His By Name, and Jesus adds to this in Revelation 2:17 -
“To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a NEW NAME written on it, known only to the one who receives it.”
You see, every single thing in the universe has a NAME, and those that are in God’s will also have 'A Name,' but those not in God will have NO NAME.
Anything that does not have a name by default does not exist.
Croce was right in that in this life we all have a name, and those that are victorious in Christ that leave this world will have a name in the next life. The question you have to face is — “Will You Have A Name In Eternity? If you do, Jesus will be able to call you, and you will be able to hear his voice.
“And I'm gonna go there free...” - Jim Croce, 1943-1973
