If You Are Lost, You Need A Compass, But Even If You Have One, Which Direction Is YOUR Compass Pointing?

If You Are Lost, You Need A Compass, But Even If You Have One, Which Direction Is YOUR Compass Pointing?

If you are lost, you need a compass, but even if you have one, which direction is YOUR compass pointing? A compass has 360 points, so the question is, is your needle pointing true north, or one of 359 other degrees that will lead you astray?

You see, in this life we all are 'lost' on our path to eternity, so we need a true compass to lead us to safety. The question is where do we find this compass of life, and what direction does it say we should go?

Jesus gave us the answer when He said:

“ I am the way, The truth, and The life. No man cometh unto the Father, BUT BY ME.” John 14:6

You see, the compass Christ gives us will always point 'True North' and just like today’s scripture will always point us on The Way To God.

When you follow HIS Pointer, it will ALWAYS point you to SAFETY.

Perhaps You Did Not Intend To Do Something Wrongbut You Did It Anyway.

Perhaps you did not intend to do something wrong…but you did it anyway.

Sound familiar? Well, you are not alone becasue we all have!

The reason why is that as good as our thought intentions are, as today’s scripture verse says, being obedient doesn’t emanate from the Mind but from the Heart. When we listen with our heart, and not with our mind, the Holy Spirit can speak and you will be able to listen because our spirit is tied to the heart, not the mind.

So walk the good walk, not the 'will'! Obey God from your heart and you will never fail.

We Are All IN This World, But It Depends On How We Traverse Our Time Here.

We are all IN this world, but it depends on how we traverse our time here.

Some don’t know their place or role and wonder through life trying to figure out why there are here. Others completely settle in and fully embrace all that the world offers. In both these scenarios, as today’s verse admonishes us, do not just be 'in' or a 'part of it' for two reasons.

First, your life — and your time in this world — will be here and gone quickly as Jesus said, “The grass of the field is here today, but tomorrow is cast into the oven.” Second, we are to be HOLY. This means to be separate from this world and not immersed in it’s ways or pleasures because we are just passing through. As Christians we are neither Strangers or Citizens of this world because “Our Citizenship Is In HEAVEN” (Philippians 3:20) where we have been promised to have “A building of God in a house not made with hands that is eternal in the heavens.” (2 Corinthians 5:1)

Earth is not our final HOME, but a temporary one. Mark 4:19 likewise warns us about separating ourselves and not being caught up in “…the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in.”

Christian, you are just Passing Through! Keep moving towards the high calling that God has placed before you and look to the eternal promise that is yours through Christ.

Jesus’ word in today’s scripture is perhaps one of the strongest and most direct instructions and warnings He gives about one of two paths that people will choose to take in life. So here is His message – plain and simple; You don’t have to do anything to be on the wrong road - all you have to do is do NOTHING and just follow the crowd. The question is “why is this so?” and Jesus answers that by saying:

“The lure of wealth and the Desire for pleasure and comfort Crowd out any thoughts of God and His promises and all thoughts of the consequences of eternity.” Mark 4:19 (Highly Paraphrased for clarity of message)

You see, in this life the broad road is wide and easy with plenty of room for everyone. It’s also more pleasurable and fun and since most people are also on it, it’s both familiar and natural too. Thoughts of the hereafter are not on people’s minds on this path because as Jesus said, any spiritual thoughts are crowded out by those things that distract and mislead.

Listen please! There IS a HEAVEN and there IS a HELL. The road to destruction is easily taken and it is an eternally fateful mistake to not be purposeful to walk the narrow path that leads to an eternity in heaven.

Friend, please take an honest look at your life and ask yourself - Which road are YOU on? If you are not on the right road, don’t do nothing. Change your direction and choose to walk on the narrow path to LIFE!!
