Best canonical representation of a harmful stereotype, turning said harmfulness on its head and creating one of the best characters in the show with incredible depth, showing many sides of the spectrum. He isn't put down by his brothers for his low Empathy, in fact they will often work with him and meet him halfway. They indulge in his interests with him- and while they do tease him, it's never in a genuinely harmful way. The relationship he has with his brothers is healthy, and is so important for his representation, as most of the time canonical characters of this stereotype will cause a rift in their family because they're "too different." He isn't used only for his tech, and as stated by April, they love and want him on the team, because he is simply himself. It doesn't matter if he's different, because that's what makes him special and wha?t makes him their brother.

I need people to see the beauty that is a friendship between Maxwell and WX-78. They're both so chaotic and funny, and some of the only nice dialogue Maxwell has about the other survivors comes from their interactions, even going as far as to say he actually liked them and sees them as a friend (though in his own Maxwell-y way. The exact quote is from when WX dies. "A shame about your death, %. You were the only one I half-liked.")

But also, none of WX's dialogue is exactly hostile towards him, either. It all reads to me as vauge teasing. Say what you want, but they definitely are friends.

This also makes sense if you notice that WX wasn't brought to the constant by Maxwell, they were pushed through the portal by Wagstaff! They don't have a connection to Maxwell that's inherently bad, if anything, it's neutral ground. There's no genuine animosity between the two of them, so their teasing and bickering towards eachother seems very lighthearted!

Also, due to Wagstaff looking so much younger in the short than as we know him, it's safe to assume that they're set further into the past than Wilson and the others, instead of the 1920's, it'd probably be around the 1900's, when Maxwell was still William, or at least, newly received the codex. I feel like William and Woodrow would be good friends.
