Oh my goodness, the woodpecker 😆 (other two are Oriole and female Grosbeak)
Like, hell! I'd even say it's good for young adults to have friendships with older adults because you can learn a lot. You got questions about adulting? Well who better to ask than a person who's been adulting longer than you've been alive?
I'm a college student myself, but when I'm at home, I often go to work with my dad. He owns a brewery, and sometimes I'll stay with him while he bartends and I talk to the regulars. I can tell you, it's super interesting to hear what adults have to say, or what they know. The interesting stories they can tell and the advice they can give. I've met adult artists and adults with ADHD, and they helped me learn a little about myself and my future.
Meeting older adults and having platonic bonds with them also can teach you how to be more mature, how to bust some balls, and how to be truer to yourself.
I agree that large age gaps do matter romantically. Being a full grown adult dating a minor is a big ole no-no. I feel like young adults from around 19-25 need to figure their shit out first as well, but after that they are adults that can make their own nature decisions. If you're 30 they're 38, then you're both mature adults that can make your own decisions.
But the point I'm trying to make is that adults both young and old should be able to have friendships. Mentorships and such exist for a reason. As much as we like to make fun of older people, they do know a lot that we don't. They do have experiences that we don't. It's normal and healthy to interact with people of different age ranges, just don't be an idiot or weirdo about it, y'know?
'all age gaps problematic' people are so wild. "what can a 19 year old and a 28 year even have in common??? what do they talk about??" BITCH THEIR HOBBIES???????
