Geneeeee!! Has anyone done Gene?? Nevermind I have a backup option: Zeke!!
DTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I literally never get tired of seeing you in my ask box š„¹ā£ļø
Unfortunately, you got beaten by Nikki, because she asked about Gene first!! You can find that here:
https://www.tumblr.com/goldendoodlerlockerlove/741996094993661952/character-asks-gene?source=share
So, I suppose this ask will be all about Zeke!! Whose last name remains undisclosed for some reason.
First impression: I actually wasn't too sure about Zeke at first?? I never disliked him. I always enjoyed him as a character. But him being the Mad Pooper in Broadcast Wagstaff School News was just so strange to me, pfffffft. However, I did immediately find it quite sweet that he did it for Tina. I don't ship Zekina that much, but I can definitely see why a lot of other people do (but come on, people, stop using this ship as an excuse to bash Tinimmy, I am still so tired of it--)
Impression now: I love Zeke, he's hilarious. And his interactions with all of the Belchers have been great. Him calling Gene his precious lil' lamb in Stand By Gene?? Adorable (please correct me if I got the episode where he said that wrong)!! He's genuinely such a sweet kid with a newfound love of cooking, which I love to see. He deserves the best. I hope he finds someone nice in the future.
Favorite moment: Probably when he busted out that mascot costume for his grandma, because that was one of the sweetest moments in the entire show, in my opinion. The boy loves his grandma, and that's so adorable. They clearly have a super sweet bond. Also, side note, the story about his grandpa wooing his grandma because of a similar mascot costume is so cute. It kind of gives me Boblin vibes, not gonna lie.
Idea for a story: I would love to see Zeke bond more with Bob when it comes to cooking, the boy is clearly talented, and I would love to see what he can do if that talent is properly nurtured by someone as caring and experienced as Bob. The two would definitely have a great time.
Unpopular opinion: I don't think Zeke treats Tina so much better than Jimmy Jr. like a ton of other people say. He's a thirteen-year-old boy just like J Ju is. He's had his fair share of not being great to Tina, and let's not forget the lore that he actually used to be kind of a troublemaker and bully back in the day. Of course, he's matured a lot since then, and I love him, but he doesn't treat Tina as well as a lot of people say. There are just way too many Tinimmy bashers, and I will not stand for that.
Favorite relationship: I think his relationship with Jimmy Jr. is my favorite. He's always wrestling J Ju, and J Ju is always down to get tackled by him. Those two idiots just have a very special bond, and it's great to see.
Favorite headcanon: I'm honestly not sure!! Maybe the headcanon where he begins working for the Belchers and honing his cooking skills because that is always wonderful to see.

Character ask: Tina!
Awwwww, Teeny Tina!! š„¹ā£ļø Thank you so much for asking about my daughter!!
First impression: I've always loved Tina and related to her a lot. She's a weirdo who loves writing fanfiction and is also definitely autistic. How could you not love her?? I definitely relate to how awkward and shy she can be at moments because that was definitely me. It was more so when I was younger, but still. I remember seeing her fail at the toothpick challenge in the first episode and laughing my head off.
Impression now: I still love Tina, she's so sweet and has gone through a lot of development as well. She legitimately stands up for herself a lot more, showing that she knows her worth. You go girl. I also love when episodes delve into her psyche, such as the Some Like It Bot two-parter. It was so interesting seeing her almost go through with this crazy decision, only to realize that she and Tammy have more in common than she thought. It was so fascinating to see how teasing has affected her over the years and caused a negative self-image within her. I wanted to hug her so bad ):
Favorite moment: One of my favorite moments was when she was riding Jericho at the horse camp after learning how difficult it was riding an actual horse (it's not really her fault, though, she got stuck with the most difficult horse when it was her first time, which must've sucked). Another one of my favorite moments with her was when she gave Louise that bracelet, which Louise immediately decided she wanted to keep. So sweet. Also when she crashed the car in Tina-Rannasaurus Wrecks, because that entire scene, I--
Idea for a story: Maybe a story that does a huge deep dive into her relationship with Jimmy Jr. would be interesting. I think their relationship is just so interesting to analyze and has a lot of story potential.
Unpopular opinion: I'm not sure if I have any unpopular opinions about her per se?? Maybe that I think she might be straight and polyamorous rather than Bi. But I could see her being Bi, just, like, 99% boys. I just think there hasn't been enough evidence (yet) to show her being Bi. But that could always change!!
Favorite relationship: Her relationship with Jimmy Jr. is so fascinating to analyze and talk about, I could just talk about them all day. Their relationship is just so interesting. I also love her relationship with her siblings, it's always very sweet to see. We definitely need time to flesh out her relationship with Gene in particular. It's worth pursuing!!
Favorite headcanon: Probably that she's neurodivergent, because she definitely is. I love how she's weird and strange and almost no one looks down on her because of it, at least when it comes to her family. She's just her nerdy authentic self.

Iād like to throw hands with the Anon that sent @devilh0rnsinc that incredibly rude ask yesterday morning.
Okay, I donāt actually want to throw hands, because I wouldnāt win in a fight, but still. What an incredibly rude thing to say and do to a person, especially one as sweet as Devil!! Theyāve done nothing but be kind and organized a wonderful ship week back in December.
for the character ask: Courtney (i'm genuinely curious)
Ooooh, Courtney!! Fun!! I got all of the Gac Pac through these asks!!
First impression: I'm going to be very honest, I didn't really like Courtney when I first saw her, please don't come for me--I just thought she was kind of annoying, and I didn't like how she forced Gene into a relationship that they clearly didn't want. The first episode that she appeared in definitely didn't do her any favors.
Impression now: Okay, I actually kind of love her now. Maybe love is a bit of a strong word, but the development she's gotten is really nice. I hope she gets more time to flesh her character out even more. The only family I know she has is her dad, who sucks because he stole Gene's song. Yes, I will never forgive him for doing that. Anyway, I love how she's become much less annoying and a lot more tolerable. It's clear she genuinely cares about Gene's feelings now, and other people's feelings, for that matter. She's grown a lot, and I really appreciate seeing that.
Favorite moment: Probably either the entirety of The Gene and Courtney Show ("Your heart's not broken, it's only growing" š) or that moment in Video Killed the Gene-io Star where she and Gene have a really nice conversation on the slide outside, and Gene agrees to do her music video for her. To be honest, I do have a little bit of mixed feelings towards the end of that episode, because I do think it's very sweet, and it's good to sacrifice things for other people, but also, Gene should be allowed to take his own feelings into account, I think. But that's just my opinion. I still enjoy the episode quite a bit.
Idea for a story: I actually don't really know. Maybe an episode that dives into her home life or something?? I think that would be interesting. Ooooh, a plot where she gets into ballet and Gene joins her class again because he canonically used to take ballet would be so fun. I actually kind of love the idea of them being ballerinas together.
Unpopular opinion: This isn't really unpopular, per se, but she was kind of awful in her first appearance. She just kept sucking on her necklace and forcing Gene into an uncomfortable situation until he snapped, which was honestly deserved. And I was shocked because it takes a lot to make him snap like that. But yeah, I'm glad they toned her annoyingness way down.
Favorite relationship: Probably her friendship with Gene, because it's very sweet. They were nice while they were together, but I definitely think they work a lot better as friends. Am I biased because Galexis (that's what I'm calling them for now because it sounds similar to Galex, ahahahahah) is what I love to draw and write, but still. There's something about their dynamic that works better platonically.
Favorite headcanon: I'm actually not sure!! Okay, a headcanon that I just made up is that Courtney acted the way she did in her first appearance because she's actually quite insecure because of her heart condition (which also gives her a bit of anxiety) and thought if she put on a fake bravado and took charge by forcing Gene into a relationship, she couldn't be rejected. She ultimately was, which is probably why she grew a lot as a person. I like to think if she and Regular-Sized Rudy ever interacted, they'd be able to bond over having health issues, which I think would be very sweet to see.
Character Asks: Alex
Ooh, this is an interesting one!!
First impression: I actually can't really remember what my first impression of Alex was?? I think it was pretty normal. I thought it was quite nice that Gene found a friend his age to hang out with. And he's voiced by Thomas Middleditch.
Impression now: I like Alex!! I feel as if I'm a bit neutral about him. I do like the friendship he's cultivated with Gene over the years, and I hope they continue to develop him as a character. I'm just hoping that he gets more time to shine and be his own person. That would be great.
Favorite moment: Probably when he dragged Gene outside and they sat in his lil' hideout in the woods, and poor Gene just wanted to go back home. I don't know why, but I found the fact that Alex so intricately planned a hideaway spot for if he ran away so funny?? Though I wish he didn't scare poor Gene so much.
Idea for a story: Maybe Alex can have a whole episode to himself a la The Amazing Rudy to really flesh out his character and make him more interesting. Maybe it can really focus on what his home life is like and his relationship with his parents. Maybe it can even reveal he has an older sibling who's already moved away and he feels as if he's in their shadow or something. It's definitely an idea worth considering!!
Unpopular opinion: Whilst I do think Alex has potential, and I don't want him scrapped as a character entirely, I do understand why @br1ghtestlight said he could've easily been replaced with Peter Pescadero as Gene's guy friend. Those two already have music to bond over. Also, sorry Galex shippers, but I just don't ship Galex that much?? I think it's really cute platonically, but I just haven't been able to get into it romantically.
Favorite relationship: Probably him and Courtney. I don't know why, but I can see Alex and Courtney getting together more than Gene and Alex?? I think it's solely because of their dynamic in Roller? I Hardly Know Her!
Favorite headcanon: I actually have no idea. Does anyone have any good Alex headcanons?? If so, I'd love to hear 'em!!
