The wildest part about having been born with Turner's Syndrome is that it's classified as only occurring in people who are AFAB and is technically classified as making someone Intersex?? But at the same time, anyone who has Turner's is still allowed to identify as whatever they want, biologically and socially, so there are still Turner's Syndrome patients who identify as AFAB, and I identify as AFAB too.
The reason is that in my mind, I just have female attributes (which is true, I really only have female attributes and went through female puberty), and it's easier to say because I don't want to have to explain all of this to people. And the Intersex portion really only exists on a genetic level, not really a physical level. Physically, all Turner's Syndrome patients really only have female attributes, like me. But, of course, if anyone else who has Turner's Syndrome wants to identify as Intersex, that's totally valid! It's just not how I identify.
Also, sidenote, but apparently almost all pregnancies with a Turner's Syndrome patient end in a miscarriage (around 99%), but not only did I survive, Turner's barely affects me. I'm completely healthy physically and always have been. It's honestly kind of insane. I did have to take some growth hormones when I was younger, and I have to take some Estrogen because my body needs more of it, but that's literally it.
I guess I'm just built different 💪🏼
