Summary:Happy Birthday. When you're Jinx, there's nothing about her birth that makes her happy.

That is until a certain Firelight leader comes along to surprise her.

Children were squealing and chasing each other. People hollered and laughed as they zoomed on their hoverboards and chattering below.

Jinx was turning nineteen today.

Now she had no one.

Maybe except Ekko but who's to say? Not her, that's for sure.

She killed so many of his comrades. He most likely rued the day she was born and irreparably destroyed their lives.

She should have stayed in her room to sleep away this horrible day. She put her clock down on her nightstand and planned on avoiding any more to make the day go faster.

A question popped into her brain before she can stop it.

I wonder where Vi is?

Where's Vi? You know damn well where she is. She berated herself

'You're so stupid. She's with that enforcer woman, Caitlyn. They're both hunting you down.' Mylo told her.

'They won't stop until you're thrown in Stillwater. She'll let Caitlyn take her revenge before they do. Once they get rid of you they'll ride off into the sunset while you rot away.' He jeered.

"Jinx?"

She shook her head and blinked back into reality. Ekko stood face to face with her on his hoverboard, her eyes met his brown ones, wide in alarm.

"Huh?"

"You're too close to the edge."

Her upper body hang off the scaffolding. She tightened the tip of the switchblade between her teeth.

"Oh." She murmured. She grabbed the platform and then sat up.

Ekko placed his hand over his heart and sighed in relief. "You scared me. I thought you were going to fall."

"Oh." She repeated lamely.

It really wasn't a big deal if she did fall. Dying on her birthday would be ironic and pretty funny anyway.

He furrowed his eyebrows and frowned at her flippant reaction. "Are you okay?"

Jinx scoffed.

Okay.

At that moment she couldn't recall ever feeling okay.

It's a good day for Vi, tiring but good. A new office opened up a few weeks ago and ever since, Vi's been on fire. She's always been proud of her parking spot, the best one in the lot, (yeah she fist-fought three different people for it, so what?) Her open window facing the front so they could see her getting busy. Lunch rush is amazing, it's chaos but it's amazing, the only thing that gets her blood pumping more is MMA. Vi loves it, the oil popping in her ears, the steam and the smell. And it's hers, no dashing across the kitchen because the Head Chef keeps the fucking sauce on the other side of the kitchen, no getting on her tip toes to reach the pans because everyone she works with is a giant apparently. It's her space and everything is arranged in a way that makes sense and she doesn't need to edge around Rhonda and risk getting into an argument, it's all hers.
