Everyone had gone home, but Damien stayed. It had been a long time since they faced each other, a long time since she found out he had gotten her sister pregnant. Dorothea thought it was over. It should have been over, so when he reached out with the practiced affections of an old lover, with a touch so familiar she had almost given in, it took her a minute before she could push him away. It was only a minute. It only took a minute, but Holden had seen it all.

If he had any ounce of faith in her before that day, it had all disappeared in that one minute she failed to reject Damien's advances.

Now that Minthe's gone, Rosabelle has been putting Sol in youth leadership camps and piano classes, constantly pushing her to be the best. Doing so under the impression that she was trying to be the best mother by being involved in her child's life - but that's not what Sol needs. That's not what a grieving child who had lost both her best friend and grandmother needs.

The end was drawing nearer for Minthe, yet there was no fear of her looming demise. Instead, she tried cross-stitching- her late wife's favorite hobby, perhaps as an attempt to understand her wife more. Then, she tried to be a more amiable neighbor by giving the woman one of her prized serums. Hopefully, her neighbor wakes up tomorrow. When her granddaughter came home from school, she gave her a gift, though she made Soleil promise she won't use it until she's grown up and ready. It was her Electroflux Wormhole Generator. And at night, she entered Rosabelle's room. Since Rosabelle grew up, they rarely had one-on-one conversations and she had never praised her more, expressed how proud of a mother she was, and how deeply grateful she was to have her children. She wasn't the best mother to her children, but she did everything she could to be one. She only hoped that Rosa would be that mother to Sol as well - not necessarily the best but one who does everything she can to love and care for her child.

Rosabelle wouldn't let Sol anywhere near the cowplant, so much to her dismay, the only other thing she was allowed to do was use her aunt's chemistry set in her grandma's laboratory (which was also her aunt's bedroom). Minthe, on the other hand, had a lovely time with Minze the cowplant. She missed this beast of a plant. Before they left for home, Rosa had a short talk with Rosheil, thanking her and getting to know her for a bit - but it was really her way of giving her twin's girlfriend her blessing. Maybe, in a few months or years, she would have a nephew or a niece.
