đđŽđŚđŚđđŤđ˛: night calls with charles
MASTERLIST
A/n: English is not my first language!!
The girl was running around the house, looking for her shoes.
It was night, but tomorrow morning it would be her first ballet class and she wanted to show her outfit to Charles when he called in a few minutes to wish her goodnight like he did every night.
She had been obsessed with ballet dancers for a whole month, thanks to one of the Barbie movies. Her mother had taken pity on her and had finally enrolled her in an academy to try
She had bought everything she needed and she was sure that she wouldn't be able to sleep from excitement.
She found the slippers and put them on immediately when the phone rang. She ran down the stairs
"Don't run down the stairs!" her mother shouted from the kitchen.
Y/n stopped running and walked down the last few steps "I'm not running!"
Once on the lower floor she ran again until she reached the room where Arthur was talking to Charles. The youngest was lying on the couch while he was talking to the oldest on a video call.
y/n lay down next to him, taking the cell phone from Arthur's hand and interrupting what they were talking about.
"Look! Look Charles!" she yelled at him
"hey!" her brother greeted and scolded her "snatching things isn't very nice Y/n. you should ask for them."
Y/n looked at her brother next to her. âIâm sorry, Thur.â
"It's okay, let me have your phone so you can show Charles your new outfit."
Arthur took the phone from her small hands and positioned it so that Charles could see her well.
"Wow," Charles spoke, "am I seeing the most beautiful dancer in the world?"
Y/n laughed and spun around standing on the couch.
"I wear red like your Charlie," she explained.
"You are missing a number on your back"
her little eyes got big
"One and six!"
"That's my number, you need your own"
"But I like that one," she said. "I want to be like you!"
Arthur laughed silently knowing that that sentence had completely bought
"I guess I can share it" Charles smiled at her "will you send me photos and videos from tomorrow? You have to tell me everything when I get back"
"When will you be back? I bought new stories for you to read to me"
"It won't be long, I promise"
She yawned "I miss you, Arthur doesn't tuck me in as well as you do."
"Hey!" the youngest complained, "thank you I'm doing it, brat."
"I wasn't complaining!"
"Sounds like a complaint to me"
"Liar"
"Bad gal"
Charles laughed at them both, he missed them. He loved his work, but it was times like this that he would like to be around.
"Both of you calm down. I'll bring you gifts if you behave."
Y/n closed her mouth immediately and smiled at her with bright eyes. Gifts was one of her favorite words
"I'm always good"
âDoubtful,â Arthur muttered, Y/n gave him a frowning look.
"I have to go and you have to sleep"
She yawned again, "good night Charlie."
"Good night moun amour. Good night Thur. See you soon"
Y/n greeted enthusiastically until the video call ended.
She looked at her younger brother and smiled, stretching out her arms for him to pick her up and carry her to her room.
Arthur did so after rolling his eyes. He carried her upstairs and he roughly threw her on her bed causing her to laugh.
"Charles is the best at tucking me in," she started to say as she changed into her pajamas, "but you're the funniest."
"I know, bratty. I know."

Iâve been waiting forever for a Kimi edit to this song
Leading Man (Lewis/Nico)
For the lovely @garynevilles, thanks for being so great and cheering me up when Iâve been stressed and sad lately. This is kinda trashy but I hope you enjoy it. :)
Nico goes to see it, eventually.
Itâs already been out for a couple of months, and when Vivian had asked if he wanted to go to the cinema in Monaco heâd declined.
But now heâs by himself in Hockenheim, having done some punditry for German TV, and heâs at a loose end. It was on a whim really, heâd been walking past the cinema and there it was, the poster on the wall outside, Lewisâ face, serious and intense staring out at him.Â
So, why not? Â
Itâs the first of his films that Nico has seen, and although heâll deny it if anyone asks, he has consciously avoided all the others.
It felt too weird somehow, the idea of watching Lewis pretend to be someone else, a reminder of how different everything is now.
Itâs five years since Nico retired, six since Lewis did. For all Lewisâ murmurings about not wanting anything to do with the sport once he was no longer driving, Nico had never anticipated how final it would all be.
So while Nico was still part of that world and always wanted to be, Lewis had taken off to Los Angeles, and Nico expected there to be albums and videos and number ones, but instead there was this.
Heâd started off in bit parts, blink and youâll miss it roles, but he had friends everywhere and getting a break wasnât that hard - and more than anything it seemed he was actually good.
This was his first leading role though, the one that had made people take notice, and NicoâŚNico had avoided it.
It hurts, seeing Lewis on the screen and barely recognising him. Theyâve been growing apart for years, fragmenting, but the ache of becoming strangers is heartbreaking after so many years having so much to do with each other, so many years of stolen kisses and comfort and love.
Nico watches as tears fall from Lewisâ eyes on the screen, heâs playing a heroin addict who falls in love with a nurse - handsome, rugged looking Ryan Reynolds. They kiss and then Ryan walks out, leaving Lewis alone. The end credits roll. The buzz is he might even get an Oscar.
Itâs raining when Nico leaves the cinema, the streets quiet, a low rumble of traffic. He thinks back to the day before, standing up on the podium handing the winnerâs trophy to Mick Schumacher. It had felt strange being back up there, conducting the interviews, looking down at the crowd and remembering. He kept looking around, looking for Lewis.
He reaches a decision, on the flight back to Monaco.
*
It isnât difficult to find out Lewisâ filming schedule. Heâs in Prague, working on a spy thriller. Nico decides to drive there, through miles of sweeping countryside, up through Italy and Austria..
His hair has grown longer again and the breeze blows it across his face as he steers the Pagoda through the winding hillside towns of the Tyrol. He feels good, free, and everything in his life is as he wants it, all except that one missing part.
He decides to stay overnight just outside Innsbruck and finish the journey in the morning, checking into a quaint little chocolate box hotel with a roaring fire even though itâs summer, and goats outside his bedroom window. He calls Vivian, chats on the phone with AlaĂŻa for a few minutes; she tells him about her Italian homework and asks him to invite Lewis to come and visit soon.
âI promise Iâll try,â he says.
It feels awkward though when he eventually reaches his destination, loitering outside the set, which is just on the edge of the Stare Mesto, next to a group of young female fans, and he wonders if maybe he should have called first.
Eventually, Lewis and a couple of his co stars walk out from behind the barriers. Nico watches almost shyly as he signs autographs and poses for selfies, and he almost shivers at the feeling he gets when Lewis spots him and breaks into a smile.
*
âYou should have said you were going to be here, man,â Lewis says; theyâre sitting at a bar by the river, sun slowly fading, the gothic statues on the bridge casting demonic shadows over the water.
âI guess I wanted to surprise you. I saw your movie.â
âYou did? What did you think?â
âYou were great, World Champion and Best Actor in no time I think.â
âI doubt it, but thanks,â Lewis laughs.
âItâs going well then, youâve no thoughts of moving back to Monaco?â
âNah, too much to do with racing there, it feels weird now.â
âYeah, everything does really, doesnât it? It feels weird there without you.â Nico says, glancing at his former teammate and then away into the depths of the flowing river. âAnd AlaĂŻa misses her Uncle Lewis. I miss you,â Nico says carefully.
âShe must be what, thirteen now?â Lewis wonders, it doesnât seem possible that all that time has gone by.
âAlmost, yeah. Remember us at that age?â
âI do. I remember not being able to figure you out,â Lewis says, taking a sip of his beer. âI didnât know what you were doing hanging out with me instead of all your fancy Monaco friends.â
âFirst major crush,â Nico smiles. âI thought it would never amount to anything.â
âDo you wish it hadnât?â
âNo. No, never,â he frowns. âI donât regret us, IâŚIâd never change it.â
âNo. I wouldnât, either. I miss you too, Nico.â Lewis says, reaching for his hand over the table.
âWill you do something for me, justâŚbe less of a stranger, yeah. Even if you donât come to Monaco. I still need you.â
âYouâve got me,â Lewis says, his fingers stroking softly over the back of Nicoâs hand. âYouâve always got me.â
âI know what you mean, about racing that is,â Nico says abruptly, because it has been playing on his mind a lot lately. âSometimes I hate it, being part of it but not properly, like Iâm trying to hold on to it, to us. Iâm not like you, Lewis, I donât have all these other things in my life. I still need it, itâs the only world I know.â
âYou have things I donât, though. Three kids, Nico, the life you have with Vivian, thatâs something to be proud of.â
âI know, and I am,â he pauses. âyou know I always thought youâd get married.â
âMaybe I will. I just havenât found the right person yet,â Lewis says in monotone, making quotation marks in the air, the stock answer for reporters.
They both smile. âYeah, maybe thatâs it,â Nico says, wistfully. He still feels the bond between them - itâs not as strong as it used to be, but thereâs less fire now, less anger, itâs only the good things that remain.
âI am happy, Nico.â Lewis whispers, intertwining their fingers, âItâs just a different kind of happiness now, a different life.â
âI still think of you everyday,â Nico says, and he hadnât meant to, hadnât planned to come here and pour his heart out, but thereâs no reason to conceal it now; heâs at peace with himself, and more than ever he just wants Lewis to know.
âItâs the same for me, Nico, of course it is. But I think, I needed to get away from you for a while, itâs likeâŚbeing with you reminded me of racing and being around Formula One reminded me of youâŚjust too many things. Thatâs why, I had to come to terms with not driving anymore, and the best way was to be as far from you as possible. It wasnât personal, it was justâŚtime. Itâs not forever.â
Lewis leans his head against Nicoâs shoulder then, their thighs brushing together. Nico thinks of when they were boys, all the dreams they had. Itâs incredible, the journey theyâve been on together, amazing what is between them still, even after all this time. It has changed, but the core is still the same, and Nico knows that what exists between them will never die, he just needed reminding.
âNicoâŚâ Lewis says, after a long moment of silence.
âYeah.â
âYouâre a much better kisser than Ryan Reynolds you know.â
Nico laughs, burying his face against Lewisâ shoulder for a moment, before risking a quick kiss to his cheek.
They sit there talking until the stars come out, until the bar has closed and the tourists have dispersed. They sit there holding hands, just like they always used to. Â

Bloody Freezing - Intimate Moments
Description: Lewis catches an intimate moment between Sebastian and Dan and begins to question his own relationship with Nico. Word Count: 2464 Pairing: Sebastian/Daniel, Lewis/Nico
Chapter 2 / Chapter 3
Curled against Danâs side, Sebastian let his eyes flutter shut as he listened to the constant and calming beat of the brunetteâs heart beneath his ear. They were a tangle of limbs, mouths turned in upright, satisfied smiles. One of Sebâs arms was tucked tightly around Danâs waist, holding him close. The other ghosted over Danâs arm, the skin cold to his touch, âYouâre freezing DanâŚâ He murmured softly, peeling his eyes open as he peered up at the Australian.
