I just read a fic where he was called Doom Soldier Mark...was this universe inspired by the Doom games this whole time and I just had no idea??!

I hate to be that guy but like, as much as I love and maybe even prefer the interpretation that THIS

was Jake Lockley...

Are we all just ignoring the fact that the director for that scene stated in an interview that this was MARC.

“It was absolutely not [Jake],” said Mohamed Diab, director of the scene in question. “That was Marc.” Good to know. We mustn’t forget that Marc was a merc and can also be quite violent!

Now, whether or not Oscar Isaac was trying to make it feel like Jake, I don't know, and if that'd even be credible is entirely up to you. I'm just pointing out that it's not written to be Jake in the script.

I haven't seen anybody talk about this and it's driving me crazy.
