You crossed your arms over your chest, slightly pouting as you watched your boyfriend turn down another girl.

"I'm taken," he said, turning to point at you. You flashed the girl who was now looking at you a fake smile and waved. She awkwardly smiled before making her way back to her table.

"Why did he have to be blessed with such good looks," you ask yourself as he continues to wait in line.

You and Taehyung had been dating for a year now. You met him during one of your art classes. He was the model you and your fellow students had to draw depending on the perspective you were looking at him from.

You had taken more time on yours, and he was kind enough to sit longer, allowing you to finish your drawing.

"Thank you so much. Sorry for making you wait..." you trail off, realising you didn't know his name. "Kim Taehyung," he said and flashed you a smile. You returned the gesture. "Sorry for making you wait, Taehyung," you said.

"No need to apologise. I was the one who offered," Taehyung said, shaking his hands and head. "How about I treat you to coffee or a cupcake," you offer. "Actually, I prefer tea but sure."

You unconsciously smiled, remembering how the two of you began talking.

"Here, sorry it took long," you snap out of your thoughts to see your boyfriend taking a seat opposite you. You give him a small smile. "It's okay."

"Should we go to your place or mine?" you ask, reaching for his cup and taking a sip of his tea. "Hey, you have your own," he chuckles, pulling the cup from your hands. "How about yours? We were at mine yesterday. Plus, you said you needed to work on something anyway," he responded to your question, taking another sip of his tea.

"Excuse me," the two of you looked to see a girl standing by your table. You examined her figure. Her cheeks were pink, and her phone was in one hand. While she played with the hem of her skirt with the other. You took note of her features. She was pretty. She seemed to have a good sense of fashion, her hair was styled neatly. She had a cute hat on her head that matched her outfit. You frowned.

"Yes?" Taehyung asked, placing his cup down and turning to properly look at the girl. "Sorry to interrupt. I was wondering if I could get your number?" she said, shyly holding out her phone.

"I have a girlfriend," he said, glancing at you. You give her an awkward smile, and she gasps. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I thought she was your sister," she said quickly. "It's fine," you grumbled.

"Well, do you think I can still get your number?" she asks, causing you to raise your brow. "I, well, I have an assignment for my art and photography class. I have to find someone to model for a photoshoot for the photography part, and then I need to make a portrait of someone for the art part. I just think you're perfect for it," she said quickly, realising how the first part of her sentence probably sounded to you.

"Oh, um," Taehyung looking at, silently asking you if it was okay, and you simply nodded in response before staring at your reflection in your drink.

"Sure," he responded, and she smiled, handing her phone to him. Once Taehyung gave the girl her phone, she smiled before waving walking back to where she came from.

"That was-" Taehyung cut himself off with a frown. You were stirring your cup of tea, playing with the teaspoon. "Are you okay?" he asks, and you just hum in response, but the slight scowl on your face was quite evident.

Taehyung got up from his chair, walking over to sit on the chair next to you. "What's wrong?" He asked, trying to get you to look at him. You only turn the other way. "Nothing," you responded, and Taehyung let out a laugh.

You looked at him with a frown. "What's so funny?" You asked, and he only smiled, ruffling your head messy up your hair. "Are you jealous?" he cheekily asked. Your eyes widened, and you gasped. "I'm not jealous," you grumble, fixing your hair, and he laughs once again.

"Don't worry, I'm not interested in anyone who's interested in me other than you," he said, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to his body.

"I'm only interested in you," he whispered in your ear and placed a quick kiss on your cheek.

Your cheeks began to redden, and Taehyung laughed. You snuck a glance at him and smiled before picking up your cup of tea and taking a sip of tea.

It's not an unusual sight to see. Actually, they should be used to seeing you like this, curled into Taehyung's chest, his fingers combing through your hair as you lounge between his legs on the couch occasionally feeding him bits of popcorn. He jerks you closer every time something suspenseful happens on the TV but ultimately you're about as close as two people can get.

Why shouldn't you be? You are best friends after all.

"Get a room," Jungkook groans from the kitchen table, stuffing airpods in his ears as he attempts to do homework for the third time that evening.

You roll your eyes. "For the last time, we're not dating."

"Most friends don't cuddle like that."

"Their loss." Taehyung taps your hand and you feed him more snacks.

"Oh by the way," you ask, subtly twisting in his arms, "can I stay here tonight? My mom is back in town and I don't really feel like seeing her. She still thinks I'm lying about all that stuff."

"Say no more," your best friend insists, wrapping his arms around your waist and cuddling his chin onto your shoulder, "you can stay as long as you want."

Jungkook practically pukes. Reaching for his phone, he once again disregards his homework for something he deems much more important. Snapping evidence.

Except you and Taehyung have never been embarrassed by the way you treat each other. You've been best friends since elementary school and each year that passes, you've only grown closer. Boundaries aren't really a thing at this point but you both like it that way, even if your families and friends refuse to believe the authenticity and platonic nature of your relationship.

"Wait a second, ___ can't stay tonight because Jimin is spending the night already."

"She can stay in my room," Taehyung suggests nonchalantly and you smile, agreeing without so much as a blink.

Jungkook gawks. "You're gonna let her sleep in your bed?"

"We've done it before. What's the big deal?"

There is none in your mind. Being this close to Taehyung feels natural. It feels nice. You like to be this physically and emotionally close to him. While you know what it looks like from the outside, both of you have noted that frankly neither of you care.

When he picks you up in his truck and opens the door for you and buckles you in. When he takes you out for fancy dinners or buys you flowers because he knows they're your favorite. When you write him stories and sing for him in the car. When he's stressed so you give him back massages or cook his favorite meal for him.

Your relationship is an equal give and take, and that's the way you like it. You and Taehyung are the only ones who will ever truly understand just what you mean to each other.

Taehyung yawns and pokes your side to get your attention. "Could we head to bed early tonight then. I'm exhausted after this week."

"Sure, I don't mind. Oh, could I borrow pajamas?"

"There's some shirts in my drawer."

You hop off the couch and ruffle his hair as a thank you before scurrying to the bedroom. Taehyung stretches himself across the now vacant space, slumping into the cushions and turning his head when he hears Jungkook tisking from the kitchen.

"What?"

"Wearing your shirt to bed? Dude, you guys are dating."

"We are not," Taehyung refutes annoyed. "She doesn't even like me that way."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure." Taehyung sighs, throwing an arm over his face to block any future contributions to this conversation.

When you appear again, you're dressed down in his oversized, grey t-shirt and socks you found as well. With your hair down and uncombed, even Jungkook admits you're freaking adorable. Cuddling with you probably is healing, much like how Taehyung describes it.

Your best friend rolls himself off the couch and follows you to bed. After changing in the bathroom and brushing his teeth, he crawls under the sheets where you're already starting to drift to sleep. He slinks an arm around your waist and pulls you into his embrace, feeling you happily curl into him, tucked away and small.

"Most friends don't cuddle like that."

It's fine. You and Taehyung already established your relationship. He knows you know where you guys stand.

"Dude, you guys are dating."

Gently he shakes your drowsy shoulder and pulls you into consciousness enough to ask you a question.

"___," he whispers, "what do you wanna do tomorrow?"

"Huh? The same thing we've done every year. Don't worry I won't forget your present," you promise with a smile, nuzzling close to his chest and taking in the scent that is so perfectly him.

Taehyung takes a moment to reach across you and check his phone screen. He smiles, turning it off before snuggling in once again. With his lips pressed to your hair, he strokes your back and gives a silent thanks to whatever power of the universe brought you to him.

okay so, even though i’m ot7 and i could be writing fics using all 7 members, i only write fics using the maknae line. reason is before i was ot7, i was maknae line baised. i found it easier (and still kinda do) to just write about them. no hate or disrespect towards the hyung line. i love these boys equally.

i only really enjoy writing when i’m bored, or when i’m feeling creative so i guess i’m inconsistent, i don’t really know. all i know it it’s going to take me some to upload the next chapter to a series (if i ever write one) or respond to requests.
