The First Day of Christmas
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 1 - Opening the first door of the Advent Calendar
Authors Note - so I haven’t written anything in years, plus this is my first BTS oneshot. @writerofbts tagged me in this festive challenge, which inspired me to get back into writing :) I’ll do my best to keep up with the days, although some may be a little late. I hope you enjoy day one x

“Babe..” I whispered to the sleeping body next to me “are you awake?” The morning sun beamed through the white curtains into our shared room, and as much as I didn’t want to leave my warm, cozy bed and face the first day of winter, it was also the first day of December! Nothing made me more excited than the festive season.
I snuggled into my warm boyfriend, causing him to stir and open his eyes slowly and groan, still riddled with sleep. He smiled sleepily, “morning” he spoke lower and croakier than usual. His morning voice always made my heart flutter.
“Good morning” I smiled back “happy first of December!”
“We can open our advent calendars today” Taehyung grinned, stretching his arms above his head before sitting up and ruffling his messy bed hair. I sat up next to him, groaning as I stretched, only to yelp out when I felt his fingers poke into my side, a cheeky smile plastered on his face.
We made our way downstairs to our living room, turning on the light to reveal the decorations occupying the space. The main feature, a large Christmas tree next to the window covered with warm lights and a combination of classic and rustic decorations. We both agreed on a simple, yet elegant theme for the tree for our Christmas together.
“Do you want day 1″ I asked him, as I picked up the advent calendar off the shelf. Taehyung came up behind me, wrapping his bare arms around my waist.
“Here” he reached around and opened the door for day 1, fumbling to get the chocolate out. He held it up inspecting the shape of a snowflake molded into the small piece. Taehyung then allowed me to take a bite, before placing the rest in his own mouth.
“Yum” he smiled, before placing a sweet kiss against my lips.
“I was just thinking that..”
“We should open the other one now” he beamed, shaking me from the daze he left me in.
I loved treating and surprising people at Christmas, and had previously told Taehyung about the idea of a homemade advent calendar. Each day you would give the person a small gift, whether it’s something Chrismassy or even a joke present. Taehyung loved the idea, and suggested the two of us do it for each other throughout December.
“Ooo let me go first” I said, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the garland I had put up in the hallway while he was in bed last night.
“What’s this” he laughed, inspecting a row of festive themed pegs, a number from 1 to 24 written on each. Every peg was holding a small card.
“Open it” I smiled, giddy with excitement.
Taehyung pulled the card from the peg marked number 1, and began reading outloud “You gift for day one is hidden in the cupboard where we keep our fun”
Taehyung looked at me in surprise “you made me a treasure hunt?! And for twenty-four days?”
“Do you like it?” I asked shyly.
“I love it” he smiled, pulling me in to his broad chest and kissing the top of my head.
“The cupboard where we have fun..” he repeated, turning his mouth to the side as he thought where his gift could be. He suddenly turned without saying a word, and ran towards the cupboard in the living room stacked with our video and board games. Moving things around until I heard him shout “Ah-ha!”
I laughed at his boyish behaviour, watching as he began unwrapping his gift.
“Oh my god Y/N, you know me too well!” He laughed, holding up a packet containing novelty Christmas face masks.
“I thought you’d want to keep your skin healthy during the colder season. Plus I think they’ll look really good on you” I teased “especially the elf!”
“Thank you Y/N. Okay! My turn!” he said suddenly, running into his studio across the hall. He returned thirty seconds later with a medium size present wrapped neatly (Taehyung always took pride in his gift wrapping). He smiled at me, handing over the gift.
Carefully unwrapping it, smiling when I got a glimpse of the gift inside and pulling out a pair of incredibly festive pyjamas!
“Tae! I love them!”
“Wait that’s not all!”
“Wha-” I started, but he had already made his way back into his studio.
“Stay there!” he shouted from the other side of the door. Minutes later he returned, wearing a pair of pajamas matching the ones he just gave me!
“Oh my god..” I laughed
“Now we can match for all of December” he beamed, posing in his new sleepwear.
“You truly know what a girl wants for Christmas, Kim Taehyung”
“Someone to do sickly couply things with, like dressing up in matching pjs” he teased, taking my hands in his own.
“Exactly”

Prompt: Day 2 - Going Shopping for Presents Together
Authors Note - As you can tell from the name of this blog, and if you follow my main, V is my main bias. So rather than writing separate time/member oneshots, I’ve decided to turn this challenge into a continual Christmas story :) Also, I know I haven’t been uploading each prompt on the actual date, but I do plan on finishing each one eventually :)

“So we’ve bought for Seokjin, Namjoon, Jimin, and your sister, we just now need to buy for Yoongi, Hoseok, Jeongguk, your brother and both our parents” I said aloud looking through the list on my phone. Taehyung and I were sat in a booth in the shopping centre starbucks (our mission to try all the festive drinks this year), enjoying a break from our Christmas shopping. “Have you got any ideas on what to get your brother?”
I noticed he was absently staring out the window “Tae?”
"I can’t wait until that’s us” he said randomly.
I followed his gaze to the outside window. As is done every year, the shopping centre had set up a small festive display of fake trees, animatronic reindeer and a crazy amount of warm coloured fairy lights. Within the area, children were lining up to meet Santa, one child currently sat upon his lap, surely listing a range of toys he hoped he had been good enough to receive on Christmas morning.
I looked towards Taehyung, his lips turned up into a small smile before turning to meet my eyes. When I didn’t answer he continued to explain further “taking our own kids to meet Santa.”
“You think about that?” I asked shyly.
“Of course” he said proudly, which quickly turned to embarrassment “don’t you?”
Of course I did. It wasn’t long after we started dating that I would picture what a future with Taehyung would be like. I knew he wanted a big family, and he knew how much I loved kids and wanted to be a mother. However, this was the first we had ever spoke about future children between us.
“I do. A lot” I smiled. “Christmas would definitely be more magical.
“We could get their photo taken with Santa. Even a family one, and send it to all our friends and family” Taehyung said “and spoil them with so many presents.”
I laughed, shaking my head “They definitely would be the most spoiled child at Christmas. Especially with you as their father!”
“But we would also do so many family things, like picking out a Christmas tree and decorating it just the three of us, holding up our child so they could put the star on top at the end... Putting them to bed on Christmas Eve, while we lay out milk and cookies for Santa, seeing their face in the morning when they realise he’s visited... Sitting around the Christmas tree in our pyjamas opening presents”
I smiled at the scene Taehyung was painting, a Christmas as a little family “I hope you know that nothing would make me happier” I smiled.
We both looked towards the children meeting Santa, just as a young couple, not much older than us, were at the front of the line. We watched as the dad placed their baby on Santa’s knee, the parents kneeling down next to them and putting their arm around each other. The woman taking the photo started shaking a small bell, in order to gain the baby’s attention for the photo. At the sound of the chiming, the baby began to giggle, and the photo was taken. At that moment I saw what could easily become my future. Taehyung must have thought the same thing, as I suddenly felt his hand reach over and grab mine.
“I can’t wait to start a family with you” he said.
***
“Do you want to call it a day?” I asked Taehyung, after we finally found a present for his younger brother. We still needed to buy something for both his and my parents, but having already spent the whole day shopping for everyone else exhaustion had finally hit us.
“Yeah. Do you want to meet me in the car though?” he began handing over the shopping bags to me “I just saw something - yes it’s a present for you” Taehyung said as I tried to interject “I just really want to get it now”
“Alright, I’ll meet you in the car”
***
I had finished packing the car with our gifts, and was only scrolling on my phone for around five minutes when Taehyung returned. He wasn’t carrying a bag, but one of his pockets was slightly larger than the other.
“No peeking” he smirked.
As we drove back to our shared apartment, my curiosity eating at me, wondering what sort of gift Taehyung needed to buy today.

Prompt: Day 3 - Deciding where you’ll spend Christmas
Masterlist

It was late afternoon, Taehyung was engrossed in one of his video games while I was attempting to catch up on some reading, only to keep getting distracted by the screen. Taehyung’s phone started buzzing on the coffee table in front of him.
“Oh. It’s my mum” he said, bringing the phone up to his ear, answering in Korean.
Since dating, Taehyung had been teaching me Korean, while his English had continued to improve due to my own speaking background. However, I was far from being a fluent speaker of the Korean language! I got up to grab a drink while Taehyung was on the phone to his mum, only catching the occasional word I recognised as well as my own name a few times. I continued to do a few small tasks while Taehyung caught up with his mum.
“How is she?” I smiled, once he hung up the phone.
“Good. She actually rang to ask what we were doing for Christmas.”
This was our second Christmas together, spending the previous year with my own family. Even then, Tae had already felt at home and a part of our family. I had assumed it would only be fair to spend Christmas with his this year, but we had yet to discuss it.
“I guess we’re still yet to decide. What are you thinking?” I asked.
“Mum said she’d love to have us come visit for a bit.”
“That sounds wonderful!” I had only met Taehyung’s family a handful of times, but always felt welcome around them. Plus the idea of spending Christmas in the town where Taehyung grew up really excited me.
“Really?” he smiled.
I sat down next to him, nodding.
“I guess I would just feel bad, you don’t get to see your family. I know how close you are.” He was always so considerate.
“They’ll be disappointed, but I know they will understand. You spent Christmas in Y/Country last year, so it’s only fair if we visit your family. And I would love if you showed me around where you grew up.”
“They’ll both be overjoyed, especially mum!” He smiled, pulling me in for a hug. “I can’t wait for your to experience a Korean Christmas!”
“Me either!”
“Maybe we can drive up a few days before?” He suggested.
“If the road trip involves Christmas carols then I’m in!”
“For sure! I’ll ring back mum and let her know we’ll be there” Taehyung smiled, as he scrolled to his mother’s contact on his phone, one of his arms still wrapped around my waist.

Prompt: Day 4 - The Last BTS Show Before Christmas

I was sat side stage at the last BTS show of the tour, my boyfriend and his band performing their final song to the Seoul crowd. The audience cheered as the boys said their thank yous and goodbyes, embracing each other as they came off stage. Myself and a few other girlfriends clapped for the talented group, beaming at how proud we all were.
Once they had finished congratulating each other I ran over to Taehyung and embraced him in hug, not caring how sweaty he was!
“Do I even have to tell you how amazing you were, and how proud I am of you” I said, placing a kiss on his lips.
“Yes, because I never tire of hearing you say it” he smiled, his cheeks still flushed from performing. “Sorry I’m so sweaty by the way.” He said, causing me to hug him tighter.
***
“Management has organised a meal to celebrate?” Namjoon informed the group.
“Sounds good!” Hoseok replied, as we all followed each other back to their dressing room for the boys to freshen up.
I sat down, talking to Taehyung while he got changed “how do you feel that another tour is over?”
“It’s always a little sad, but it will be nice to finally have a break for a bit” he replied, unbuttoning his white shirt and slipping it off. I couldn’t help looking down at his fit, caramel figure, even after two years of dating. He didn’t have the six pack that most girls would drool over, but he was perfect to me. If he noticed me staring he didn’t say anything, spraying himself before slipping a simple white shirt over his head.
“Everyone ready?” Hoseok asked, slinging his bag over his shoulder, a mumble of ‘yes’es from the boys. I stood up, grabbing my own bag from the table as Taehyung did the same. As we started walking he slipped his hand in my own, giving me a small smile as we headed out to the vans.
***
Their management had hired out a function room at a very expensive restaurant in the city, kindly supplying a meal for the band, their girlfriends, management and the tour crew. Everyone was enjoying a couple of drinks, following the very filling meal. I was sat catching up with Jimin’s girlfriend, when I felt the couch dip next to me and a head resting on my shoulder.
“I should probably go and see where Jimin is at” she said looking at Taehyung and then back at me, smiling, before standing up to find her boyfriend.
Taehyung lifted his head, as I turned to look at him. “Hello you” he smiled, a mixture of sleep and intoxication evident in his eyes.
“Hello there” I smiled.
“You know something, you’re the most beautiful person in this room” the smell of vodka hinted on his breath.
“I think that’s the alcohol talking” I laughed.
He took my own drink out of my hand and placed it on the table in front of us, grabbing both my hands and shaking his head “No. I could lose my vision tomorrow and you will still be the most beautiful person in any room.”
Before I even had the chance to answer his lips were pressed firmly against my own. Alcohol always seemed to make Taehyung more confident and become overly affectionate in public. Thankfully the room was dimly lit, and everyone else was too invested in their drinks and conversation to even notice us in the corner.
His lips tasted of a mix between the alcohol and the fruity flavoured lip balm he had recently put on. When we pulled away he placed his forehead against my own “I love you, Y/N” he whispered.
“I love you too, Tae.”
He smiled, resting his head on my shoulder, closing his eyes. I looked down at my phone which showed it was 2:30am. “I think it’s time we got you home” which received a sleepy nod in reply.
We said our goodbyes to the boys and thanked their management for the meal, before quietly slipping out to a waiting taxi.
***
It was after 3am when I had finished removing my make up and changed into my pyjamas. I walked out of our en suite to find Taehyung already in bed lightly snoring. I climbed in next to him, turning off the bed side lamp. Without waking up, he wrapped his arm around me as he felt me lie down next to him, always needing something to hold when he slept.
“Goodnight my super star” I whispered, before closing my eyes and snuggling into him.

“Tae..?” I softy opened the door to his studio seeing he was still hunched over his computer, working on lyrics. It was nearly 11pm, and he had been working all day, only taking a break for dinner - which he ate quickly without saying much, in order to return to his desk.
“Tae” I repeated “it’s getting late, why don’t you come to bed and rest.”
He threw his head back, groaning “I can’t Y/N, this needs to be done!”
“But you might feel more refreshed tomorrow” I pushed.
“Management needs them by the end of the week and I barely have anything good” he complained, obviously stressed.
“I’m sure what you’ve got is fine, you’re just stressed and overworked. I really thin-”
Taehyung cut me off “I’m stressed because you keep pushing me to come to bed when I’m trying to work!” Annoyance in his voice.
“I’m only pushing because I care about you, and your health” my own voice starting to raise at him.
“If you cared so much about me you’d leave me alone to get this fucking work done then!”
Taehyung and I had our fair share of couple disputes, but they were usually about trivial things, easily solved with a quick apology and a good cuddle session.
“Maybe if you stop acting like a spoiled brat! You’ve done nothing to help all day!”
“No, I’m just trying to earn money so you can have a good Christmas!” he yelled.
“Which I chose to spend with you, Taehyung! Over my family.”
“Fuck Y/N, then go and spend Christmas with your family! I couldn’t care less.”
Taehyung’s eyes widened, immediately regretting the words leaving his lips, but the damage was done. Tears began to form in my eyes, and to avoid him seeing me cry I stormed out of his studio, shouting how self-absorbed he was. One part of me wanted to embrace him and help him de-stress, but that was overpowered by how frustrated I was with him. This was the first he had ever really hurt me, and I couldn’t even stand to look at him right now. I eventually fell asleep on top of the bed covers, my eyes heavy from crying.
***
I awoke a few hours later to find that I had been covered with a blanket. I turned to find no Taehyung next to me, but could hear muffled crying downstairs. I swung my legs out of bed, pulling down Taehyung’s shirt, which sat much larger on me. As my bare feet pressed against the carpet, I found him sitting in the lounge, his head in his hands. I sat down next to him, enveloping him into a hug, his head pressed above my chest.
“I’m sorry jaji” he sniffled, defeated. “You know I didn’t mean a word of what I said.”
“It’s fine baby, we both said things we didn’t mean”
“You know I wouldn’t want to spend Christmas with any one else. I regretted those words as soon as I said them” he sighed.
“It did really hurt me” I said, causing Taehyung to hang his head, ashamed of what he had said. “But I know you were just frustrated” I soothed, rubbing his arm.
“It was no excuse for yelling at you though, you only wanted what was best for me. And I knew that”
“I did. But I also shouldn’t have been so insistive when I knew you were stressed. I’m sorry I made it worse. Do you feel any better” I asked
He nodded “I’m sorry I made you cry yourself to sleep as well. I hate that I was the reason for that.”
I kissed his tear stained cheek. “If you feel like you’ve got too much pressure on you, you should speak to someone. At least talk to me. Please?”
“I put the pressure on myself. I wanted these lyrics done before Friday because.. I’ve had flights book for Saturday morning..”
“To where? What for?”
“Y/Country”
“Tae..”
“I’m happy we get to spend Christmas with my family, but I also want us to spend time with your family. Maybe have an early Christmas Day with them.” he smiled. “What I said earlier about not caring couldn’t be less true.”
“I can’t believe you did this” I could feel the tears forming in my eyes once again, but this time out of happiness.
“This wasn’t the way I wanted to tell you. It was suppose to be an early Christmas present” he laughed, sighing. “Your parents helped me organise it. We’re staying with them for a week.”
“I don’t know what I did to deserve you” unable to wipe the smile off my face “you truly are the most thoughtful person.”
Taehyung pulled me onto his lap, and I brushed his wavy hair away from his eyes. He softly pressed his lips against my own. We didn’t need a passionate make out session, we just needed to feel the other person, to know we were there for each other.
I rested against Taehyung’s chest, as he laid back on the couch. Silence enveloping us in the dimly lit room, allowing us to just be there together.
“Did you finish the lyrics” I asked softly after a while.
“I did actually” he laughed “I think all the emotions I was feeling inspired some creative flow or something.”
“What’s the song about?”
“Us” he smiled.
I didn’t answer, worried our fight had led him to write something negative.
“It’s about how much I hate fighting with you and how depressed I feel when we’re not talking.”
“Can I hear it” I quietly asked.
He grabbed a small pile of paper from the coffee table, I could see areas had been crossed out and written over until the perfect lyric was found. He quietly sang in his soft, deep voice, exactly how he felt, fully vulnerable in front of me.
I didn’t think it was possible to fall even more in love with him, but here we were on the couch at 2am, the only light coming from the lamp behind us. Both our eyes red from crying, and I had never loved him as much as I did in this moment.

Prompt: Day 6 - Christmas Baking
Authors note - does anyone else hear couple baking one shot and immediately think fluff and flirting 🥰😂

It was a lazy December morning as Taehyung and I were sitting on the couch, a bowl of oats in hand.
“Taehyung, I’m begging you, please just pick a channel” I whined as he surfed through countless channels while we ate breakfast.
He sighed “there is literally nothing on today.”
“Ooo there’s a Christmas special, leave it on that” I pleaded, causing Taehyung to shake his head laughing, knowing how obsessed I was with anything festive.
So we sat there watching lifestyle program, finishing our meal when they advertised after the commercial that they would be showing how to make gingerbread houses.
“Oh my god Tae, we should totally make a gingerbread house today!” I beamed, looking over to my boyfriend.
“Okay.. that actually sounds super fun!” he smirked, always on board to do anything creative.
“Come one! We’ll go get dressed and drive to the shops and get ingredients!”
***
Taehyung followed closely behind me, carrying a basket full of spices for the gingerbread and an array of lollies and chocolates for decoration, probably more than we needed. It was difficult going out to places such as supermarkets, with the risk of Taehyung being noticed. This was one of the difficult things about dating an idol, and something that I always sympathised with Taehyung about. It was hard to go out and do everyday tasks, and Taehyung often wore his facial mask and a cap to hide his face, which thankfully, was not that unusual in Seoul.
After spending way too much money on this gingerbread house, Taehyung and I made our way back to his car, each carrying a bag of ingredients and junk food, and chucking them in the back seat. It didn’t take us long to get back home, our apartment only a ten-fifteen minute drive from the shops.
Taehyung turned his keys in the front door, and we rushed into our kitchen, pulling out all the ingredients.
“Okay!” He announced, “what first”. He began looking through all the decorative foods.
“First we actually need to make the gingerbread.” I was definitely the baker in our home. Taehyung was always happy to cook a beautiful meal for dinner (including a few experimental dishes..), but I was always the one creating something sweet and less healthy. I asked him to get out a few bowls and utensils while I started pulling out the ingredients.
I stood up on my tippy-toes in order to grab the flour from the top shelf, suddenly jumping when I felt a hand against my behind, a small pinch causing me to yelp!
“Ow!” I turned around to be met with a cheeky, boxy smile, giggling back at me.
“Stop being a perve and help me with the flour” I teased, hitting his arm.
“Alright, come here” Taehyung smiled, before wrapping his arms around my legs, and lifting me up in order to reach the flour.
Propping up one of my festive cookbooks, I talked through each step, Taehyung and I working together to make the dough for the gingerbread. It wasn’t long before it was ready to go in the oven, giving us time to wait for it to bake and cool before putting it all together.
While we waited, we began cleaning up, dancing and singing around the kitchen as we played Christmas carols in the background.
“Wanna help me put this flour away” I asked, picking the jar up from the kitchen counter.
“It would be my pleasure” he smiled, picking me up against him as I placed it back in the cupboard. As he let me down, I felt Taehyung’s hand brush up along my thighs and across my hips. Someone was feeling extra flirty today.
“If you can’t keep your hands to yourself, Kim Taehyung..” I smirked up at him.
“You’ll what..?” he asked, raising his eyebrows at me. We had been dating for two years yet this boy still managed to call upon kaleidoscope of butterflies to gather inside me. I could feel his warm breath brush against my lips, his dark eyes darting between my own and down to my lips.
We both jumped as his phone alarm went off, indicating that the gingerbread would be cool enough to assemble. Taehyung smiled at me, pressing a quick peck against my cheek. I smiled, rolling my eyes as he dragged me to our kitchen table where we had set up all the decorations, he got distracted so easily.
Putting the house together was definitely the hard part! Both our hands were covered in icing as we tried to stick roof to wall and wall to wall, shouting and laughing in frustration every time it collapsed. Taehyung cheered triumphantly when it finally stayed put, only to be shooshed by me, worried that his loud voice would cause another casualty.
Taehyung was completely focused on the task of decorating, loving any activity that allowed him to be creative. I watched as his brows fused together in concentration, his eyes completely fixed on his decorations.
Once all the lollies had been glued with icing to the gingerbread (roughly half consumed through the process), Taehyung and I stepped back to admire our creation!
“I think this is definitely worthy of being featured on that show earlier” he announced.
“If not better than theirs” I agreed, turning to notice how much icing had actually ended up on his face, laughing at how cute he looked.
“What?” He asked.
“You covered in icing” I giggled, as I began trying to brush the set icing from his soft cheeks.
“Don’t you talk” he laughed “you’ve got icing sugar all over you!” I looked down to see my clothes dusted with what we used as snow.
I began to brush it off when Taehyung grabbed a hold of me, finally pressing his lips to my own. I smiled against the kiss “you taste sweet”
“So do you.” He pulled away, a playfulness evident within his eyes. “We can clean up this mess later. I feel like something sweet, and I’m not talking about the gingerbread house..”

Authors note - sorry this one is extra late! I had a lot of writers block with it. But hey, I think it’s the longest so far :)

The obnoxious sound of my 4am alarm pulled me from my sleep, initially cursing Taehyung for booking such early flights. However, that feeling disappeared instantly when it sunk in that we were flying back to Y/Country to visit my family for a week. This would be the third time in our relationship that Taehyung has been with my family; including the first time he met my parents, followed by our first Christmas together. Taehyung’s busy schedule made it hard for him to see his own family, let alone travel overseas to see mine.
We were thankful to our past selves, having our suitcases packed the night before, our clothes for the plane laid out on top. Taehyung and I decided we would use the waiting time at the airport to grab something to eat, so all we needed to do this morning was to freshen up before our pre-booked car arrived to take us to Incehon Airport.
After checking in our luggage, we found a nice little cafe not far from our gate to finally get something to eat. I was keen to get some caffeine in me, so opted for an eggnog latte, while Taehyung ordered a peppermint hot chocolate. We managed to find a small table near the cafe’s open fireplace to enjoy a meal, perfect for this time of year.
“Are you excited to be going home” Taehyung asked once we sat down.
“Of course” I smiled, “I’ve missed my family a lot since moving to Seoul.”
He looked down at his hands “I’m sorry we can’t visit them more..”
I grabbed a hold of his hands, holding them between my own “Tae, I wouldn’t change a single thing. Yes, I’m thousands of miles from my family. But you’re my home now” I smiled. “Please don’t apologise.”
He brought my hands up to his lips, kissing them softly.
Hours had passed and we were finally ready to board. Taehyung always insisted on flying business class, and while I knew how expensive it was, I wasn’t one to object (the extra leg room really made all the difference!)
We were about halfway through the long haul flight. I turned towards Taehyung, grabbing his attention from scrolling through a photography feed on instagram. “You definitely feel more chill this time around” I laughed.
The first time we flew home to visit my parents Taehyung was a nervous wreck, eager to impress my family. Of course he had nothing to worry about. My family had immediately fallen in love with him, and not only thought he was charming, but that he was very easy to talk to. The second time we flew over for Christmas, he was excited to see my parents again, but nervous about meeting my extended family, as was I. But as soon as I saw Taehyung playing with my younger cousins, my nerves were quickly put at ease - although my maternal hormones did make him more attractive..
Taehyung smiled “I think it’s going to feel more like home this time around. You’re parents feel like family now.” I was thankful for facetime, allowing the relationship between my parents and my boyfriend to continue.
***
I was happy to finally step off that plane after hours of being confined in the air with a bunch of strangers. Taehyung held me close to his side while we stood at baggage claim, his protective side always appearing when we were in large crowds.
My phone vibrated in my pocket, revealing a message from my mother.
Hope you both had a good flight. We are outside customs, near the glass doors. See you soon, love you xx
I smiled as I texted her back, telling her we shouldn’t be much longer and that I would text her once we were through customs.
Thankfully it was only half an hour later when Taehyung and I made our way out into arrivals. I anxiously scanned the crowd of faces waiting for their own loved ones to arrive home safely, trying to spot my parents. Being much taller than me, Taehyung clearly had more luck.
“Y/N, there they are” he announced cheerfully, before we both walked as quickly as we could, wheeling our suitcases.
My mum pulled me into a tight hug, telling me how much she had missed me, while Taehyung and my dad shook hands, saying how good it was to see each other again. I then moved over to hug my dad tightly, while my mum pulled Taehyung into a big hug.
“You both must be so tired from the long flight” my mum asked.
“Yeah” I nodded “I didn’t really sleep much. Can’t say the same about this one though” laughing as I nudged Taehyung.
“Yeah.. I’ve learnt how to sleep anywhere now” he laughed.
“Well how about we go grab some dinner, then head home” my mum suggested, and we began walking to their car.
Later that night
Taehyung and I placed our suitcases in the corner of the spare room upstairs, once my childhood bedroom. I was about to unzip my bag to change into my pyjamas when I felt a strong pair of arms suddenly snake around my waist, Taehyung resting his head in the crook of my neck as he hummed.
“Is it bad that I want you right now” he whispered.
“Tae!” I turned around to face him “I told you last time it’s a small house, we’ll be heard!” I giggled.
“We can be quiet” he smirked, causing me to raise my eyebrows at him.
He pulled me back to sit on the double bed I slept in as a teenager, crashing his lips on my own. His hands rested on my hips, as mine found their way to his waist and the back of his head. I loved when he grew his hair out, as it meant there was more for me to grab a hold of in heated moments like this. It wasn’t long before he gently pushed his weight against me, naturally causing me to lie back as Taehyung hovered his body over mine, one hand grabbing a hold of my thigh while the other held him up. He pulled away, blinking slowly as he looked at me.
“I love you, Y/N” he smiled.
“I love you too, Taehyung” I replied, placing my hands on either sides of his cheeks, pulling him close, his lips once again pressed against my own.
The next day
The four of us decided to have a make-shift Christmas Day, including present exchange and a wonderful home cooked Christmas meal. So that morning we were all sat around the beautiful smelling Christmas Tree in our pyjamas (Taehyung’s and mine still matching ones of course) to open presents.
“These are from Tae and I” I said passing my mum and dad each a box wrapped in brown paper and ribbon, decorated with mini baubles and a lovely gift tag. Mum opened hers to reveal a pair of Tiffanny and Co earings and Chanel perfume, while my dad unwrapped a Rolex watch. Both of them gasped.
“Oh this is way too much, you two!”
“It’s not” Taehyung smiled, as I added “You deserve it.”
“It’s also a thank you for letting me into your family” Taehyung said, placing his hand on my thigh.
Both my parents smiled. “And we’re so happy to have you a part of it” my mum said, followed by thank you hugs from both of them.
My mum then pulled a present from under the tree, handing it to myself and Taehyung. We tore off the wrapping paper to reveal a beautiful grey book with the words Our Story written across the cover. I opened the first page to a picture of Taehyung and I, taken back in the first few months of our relationship.
“We left all the dates blank for you two to write about where each one was taken, but it’s a collection of some of your photos together so far, with some really nice quotes about love through out” my mum explained
“This is beautiful..” I said, almost speechless.
“And there’s still plenty of room to add more” my dad added.
“Thank you so much” Taehyung said softly, as we flipped through the memories of the past few years, unable to take our eyes off the gift.
“Thank you, I.. well we, absolutely love it” I said, smiling at Taehyung, before thanking my parents through hug. They also gifted me with a beautiful necklace from Pandora, and lovely skin care kit for Taehyung (after seeking out some ideas from me!)
“We have one more gift for you” Taehyung said, handing my parents an envelope.
“You’ve already given us enough” my mum replied, taking the envelope from him and holding it between herself as my dad. Taehyung and I grinned at each other, unable to contain our excitement as they opened it.
“What..” my mum said, as they both looked at us, shocked, as they held pieces of paper in their hands, including plane tickets to Seoul.
Taehyung looked at me, grabbing a hold of my hand “Y/N mentioned how you really need time away from everything. And you can come visit us during your holiday.”
“Do you like it” I asked, beaming. “It’s all booked for next year. Flights, hotels, even some spending money.”
Tears filled both my mother and fathers eyes, as they pulled Taehyung and I into a hug.
“Thank you” my mother sniffed through tears, although I had a feeling it was directed more towards Taehyung than me.
We enjoyed spending the rest of the week in Y/Country with my parents, taking Taehyung sightseeing and having family nights playing board games or watching Christmas films (and some home videos at my expense!) However my favourite part was when we just sat around and talked about each others lives, finally having all my loved ones in one place.
The Perfect Tree
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 9 - Decorating the Tree
Masterlist

“Let’s get this one jagi!” Taehyung shouted over to me, pointing at a ginormous Christmas tree.
“That’s too big, Tae!” I laughed back at him, walking over.
Taehyung leaned closer so that only I could hear him. “You weren’t complaining about that last night” he smirked winking at me, only for me to gasp and hit him on the arm.
“Shut up, Taehyung!” The blood rushing straight to my cheeks, in hopes that no one heard him.
He laughed loudly, apparently amused by my embarrassment. “But seriously, it’s so big and Christmassy, we need this tree!”
It was the day before December 1st, and Taehyung and I had driven out to a Christmas tree farm, wanting our apartment to smell of the real thing this year.
“It’s lovely, but you know it won’t fit in our living room babe. I’m sure we can find another one just as Chrismassy” I smiled, pulling him away from the new apparent love of his life.
We walked through rows and rows of pine trees, the smell absolutely heavenly. Some trees, to Taehyung’s sadness, were too big, others we agreed were too small. Some were lopsided, or weren’t full enough. It took us a good half an hour until were came across the perfect tree.
“Tae, look at this one!” I announced, inspecting the possible contender. It was around 6.5 ft tall, with it’s branches flourished, and was almost symmetrical all around.
Taehyung placed his fingers to his chin, squinting his eyes “Hmmm..” he said, as he walked around the tree, causing me to giggle. “Looks pretty good to me” he flashed his boxy smile.
“We’ll take this one please” Taehyung spoke to the worker walking by.
We watched as they sawed down our new tree, and I kept smiling up at Taehyung in excitement. Once it was done, and we handed over the money, Taehyung huffed as he picked the tree up and swung it over his shoulder. His arm and back muscles contracting as he did. God he was hot.
“Come on Y/N” he called out as he walked to the car, breaking me from my daydream.
***
“Turn it back the other way again..” I was sitting cross-legged on the couch in front of the tree, while Taehyung laid on the floor, rotating it until we found the perfect placement.
“Stop. Okay, just slightly to the left..”
“I swear we just had it this way” Taehyung groaned.
“Little more..” I said, ignoring him. “Stop! I think it’s perfect, come see!”
Taehyung stood up, brushing pine needles from his shirt as I stood up next to him. “Happy?” I asked him, brushing more needles from his hair.
“I think it looked better before” he said bluntly. I turned to him about to protest “I’m kidding” he laughed, nudging me. “Now all it needs is decorations!”
We opened up our box of decorations, taking out the warm coloured fairylights. Taehyung and I stood on either side of the tree, passing the lights around to each other until they covered the whole tree, me standing on my tippy toes trying to help with the ones closest to the top.
Taehyung then bought over the box containing the rest of the decorations. We had opted for a classy looking tree, going for clear glass baubles with items such as pine, feathers or fake snow inside, as well as some rustic woodland decorations such as little deer or foxes. We put a Christmas playlist through the tv, and both sang along while we chose were to place each ornament. Taehyung was just as picky as me, making sure that everything was evenly spaced.
“I thought I would save this one for last” I said, picking up the final ornament from the coffee table, holding it up by it’s red ribbon string. It was a white, marble plaque with the words Our First Christmas - 2018 inscribed. We had bought it while Christmas shopping last year, not even knowing whether we’d still be together, but Taehyung insisted that it would ensure we would stay together for many Christmas’ to come, which I thought was the sweetest thing.
We placed our ornament front and centre of our tree, and I turned to place a kiss on Taehyung’s parted lips, lingering against his soft mouth for just a moment.
“I’m glad we bought that decoration” I smiled at him.
“Me too, jagi”
“Now all that’s left is the star” I said, grabbing it from the bottom of the box. When I turned back around, Taehyung was kneeling on the ground.
“What the hell are you doing?” I asked, laughing.
“Sit on my shoulders so you can reach” he said, evidently.
“Are you sure?” I hesitated.
“It’s fine, I’ve got you” he replied.
I stepped over Taehyung’s shoulders, the star in one hand, balancing my other on his head. He held tightly onto my calves as he stood up, and I squealed as he wobbled while shifting his weight. We laughed as I tried to balance the star perfectly on top our tree. “Done” I announced, resting both hands against his fluffy black hair.
Taehyung stood back, me still sitting on his shoulders, as we admired our beautiful tree.
“It’s perfect” he stated.
“Best tree I’ve ever seen” I agreed, kissing the top of his head.
25 Days of Christmas Challenge - Update!
Firstly I just wanted to thank everyone who has read my work so far! I know it’s not perfect, and some have been better than others - but this is the first I’ve gotten back into writing after many years, so I do hope you have enjoyed my Christmas stories with Taehyung 😊
I know I have been behind on the days, and I’ve been doing my best to do at least write something each day. I also decided to combine some days as some of the prompts are very similar and I felt I could write one scenario with them, rather than similar stories. It also makes it easier to get more days out 😂
Finally, it’s a couple of days before Christmas and I still have a few prompts to write. I’m not sure how many I will get out before the 25th, as I’m organising a lot for Christmas, plus I may not be able to do much after. However, all the prompts should *hopefully* be out not long after!! So I will still be finishing the challenge (I’m determined!), it just might be a little late.
Thank you for welcoming me into the BTS writing community, for following this new blog, and for @writerofbts including me in this challenge!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas/Holiday/December 🥰💜🎄
The Festival of Fairylights
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 10 - Attending a Christmas Light Switch On Day 19 - Walking around Town to see the Christmas Lights
Masterlist

“You are not going out in this cold without covering up” my boyfriend firmly spoke, pulling a knitted scarf off the hook and wrapping it around my neck.
“Fine, but I would still like to breath” I muffled, as Taehyung teasingly covered the scarf over my face.
“Aw, but I think you look cute. Like a little eskimo” he giggled.
I shook my head, fixing my scarf “we need to leave now or we’ll be late.”
Taehyung grabbed his keys from the hall, locking our front door behind him.
The sun was almost fully set as I slid into the passenger seat of Taehyung’s car, anxiously waiting for him to start the engine so I could turn on the heater.
“Have you got the address?” Taehyung asked.
“Yep” I replied, typing the location to his navigator. We were driving to the Pocheon Herb Island Illuminating Festival. Christmas lights being one of my favourite things about the festive season!
***
“Taehyung!” I yelled, causing my poor boyfriend to jump, muttering a Korean swear word under his breath.
“Oops.. sorry babe!” I laughed, causing him to do the same. “But look at that house!”
We were already getting a taste of the pretty lights, as Taehyung slowing down to a stop so we could observe the house covered in coloured flashing lights and a lit up Christmas scene across their front lawn.
“Wow..” I gawked over the extravagant house out the window “Imagine how this will look when it’s dark!” I turned to Taehyung to see his reaction, and my eyes immediately met his, as he softly smiled at me.
“What?” I laughed.
“I just love seeing you so excited” he said, the flashing lights reflecting in his eyes “It makes my heart happy.”
***
Taehyung pulled his car into the secure lot and shut off the engine. We were both fully rugged up to face the cold weather, Taehyung wearing a mask and beanie to avoid any extra attention. He ensured his car was locked, and then intertwined our glove-covered fingers together as we began to walk through Pocheon Herb Island to the main event.

The place was already swarming with people attending the Illuminating Festival, causing me to hold on to my boyfriends hand a little tighter, which he squeezed back in reassurance. We weaved through the crowds until Taehyung pointed to a small bench tucked away behind a tree. As it wasn’t up in front many guests were choosing not to sit there, but it was perfect for us - away from the crowd and still a great view of the lights.
As we sat down, Taehyung pulled his backpack off his shoulder handing me a thermos and keeping one for himself.
“We surely can’t watch a Christmas light show without some hot chocolate” he winked.
“Boyfriend of the year” I smiled up at him.
“Definitely the best award I’ve won” he said, wrapping his arm around me, pulling me closer.
The Christmas music playing over the speakers faded out and was replaced with a cheerful female voice over.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we are ready to begin the countdown for Pocheon Herb Island’s Illuminating Festive 2019!”
The crowed cheered in anticipation, and the surrounding lights flickered off in preparation as a countdown began to ring out over the speakers.

A single star illuminated in the centre, slowly followed by the flickering of random lights around it, looking like a starry night sky coming to life. A row of fairy lights lit up the buildings like a domino effect, reflecting against the moat that separated the lights from the transfixed crowd. My mouth was ajar, amazed by the beautiful show in front of me.
I turned to Taehyung, once again his eyes already transfixed on me. I could feel my cheeks turning a darker shade of pink then they already were from the frosty air. Taehyung’s face softened as pressed his forehead to my own, the bright lights causing his dark eyes to radiate different shades of brown.
“I am so in love with you, Kim Taehyung” I muttered from under the noise surrounding us.
“And I, you, Y/F/N Y/L/N” he beamed back. I wanted to kiss him hard, right there, but I new if I started I wouldn’t be able to get enough of him. So I rested my head on his shoulder, pressed against his warm body as we watched the rest of the light show in front of us. Taehyung’s arm was softly draper over my waist as he hand traced up and down my outer thigh.
***
Before heading back to the car, we decided to walk around the area for a bit and look at all the Christmas lights decorating people’s homes. We wandered, hand in hand, down a small residential lane that was completely lit up with the festive flashing of warm, cool and colourful fairy lights.
I pulled my phone out to try and capture the beautiful image in front of me, continuing to adjust where I was standing. I turned around to catch Taehyung holding up his own phone, smiling.
“Are you taking a photo” I laughed, giving him a cheesy grin.
“I’m not” he smiled, turning his phone around so both of us were in the video, our silhouettes contrasting against the warm glow of the street around us.
I wrapped my arms around his chest from behind, placing a quick kiss on his cheek as he showed his boxy smile. Before I could move away his free arm pulled me in beside him, allowing him to press his lips softly against my own, the two of us smiling into the sweet kiss.
“And now I have that captured forever” he said as he pulled away.
“Come on” I giggled, grabbing onto his hands “let’s go look at more Christmas lights.”
Mistletoe and Mr Right
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 11 - Cozy Nights by the Fire
Warnings - a little heated near the end
Authors note - this is not my title idea, it’s the title of a novel I read during this month and I thought it fit this story perfectly :)
Masterlist

Seoul was hit with yet another cold December evening. So after spending the day navigating stressed shoppers, ticking off the last of the Christmas gifts to buy and knocking out the grocery shopping as quick as I could, all I wanted to do was get home and straight into the hot shower.
“I’ll make a start on dinner, if you want to take a shower then, jagi” Taehyung offered after complaining to him about rude shoppers and my frozen toes.
“That would be lovely” I replied, pecking his lips lightly and forcing my heavy feat to carry me upstairs to our en suite.
I sighed as the high pressure shower poured the heated water over my body, the temperature something Taehyung always complained about if we shared the shower, saying I had it way too hot. Knowing he was just starting dinner, I took my time by washing my hair and exfoliating my face, being sure to look after my skin in the colder months.
After some time, I forced myself to turn off the tap and step out into the less warm bathroom, giving my hair a quick blow dry. Walking back into our room, I slipped on the Christmas pyjamas Taehyung gave me as my advent gift, grateful he knew to get me one size bigger so I could easily cover my cold hands and feet, as well as throwing on some fluffy socks.
I walked downstairs, expecting to be hit with the familiar smell of Taehyung’s home cooking. Instead, I walked into a kitchen that looked like it had barely been touched since I left.
“Tae?” I called out.
“In here” his reply coming from our living area.
I walked around the corner to be met with the room dimly lit, only illuminated by scattered candles and the open fire roaring. Taehyung was sat on the floor, tending to the fire, dressed in the pyjamas matching my own.
“What’s this all for?” A mixture of confusion and admiration on my face.
“No reason” he smiled, standing up to walk towards me “I always have such a busy schedule, so I want to make sure we have time for just the two of us” Taehyung wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling my hips against his own.
I looked around the room, taking note of two stemmed glasses sitting next to the bottle of wine and the array of snacks scattered on the coffee table. My head snapped back to his when our front doorbell rang.
“And that will be dinner” he said, dropping his arms and quickly walking to the front door. He returned within thirty seconds carrying two small boxes of pizza, sitting down with them in front of the fire.
“No phones. No tv. Just you and me” he said patting the space next to him.
I joined him on the floor, taking a slice of warm pizza. “Well you heard about my fairly shitty day” I smiled, taking a bite “what did you get up to today?”
We sat in front of the warm fire, nothing but our voices, the crackling fire and the faint volume of Christmas music playing through the speaker, filling the room. We spoke about our day, and caught up on each others lives. I told Taehyung about the plot of a novel I was currently reading, while he informed me of an art exhibition that would soon be in town that he really wanted to see. It was rare for Taehyung to have such huge breaks in his schedule which meant we didn’t get many nights like this, but when we did we always made sure to cherish them.
I tipped my head back, finishing my list sip of wine when Taehyung stood up, placing his own glass on the coffee table. “I have one more thing to make this night perfect” he spoke, forming an okay sign with his hand. “Sit down on the couch and close your eyes”
“Okay?” I laughed.
I felt the couch dip next to me, as he instructed me to open my eyes. I opened them to be met with Taehyung sitting opposite me, only to notice one of his hands hovering above his head. My eyes shifted up to see him holding a small plant. Mistletoe.
A smile spread across my face and I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Why are you laughing?” He pouted “do you not like it?”
I frantically shook my head “no! I just think you’re the most adorable person with such a unique mind, and I can’t believe you’re all mine.” I said, placing my hands on side of his face, wasting no time letting the mistletoe do it’s job.
Taehyung was quick to relax his lips against my own, disregarding the mistletoe behind him. His tongue glided against my bottom lip, begging me to let him in. My breath hitched as his hands moved up my waist and under my shirt, mine toying at the waist of his jeans, making him growl against my lips. I tugged against his bottom lip, causing him to whimper as I broke the kiss. His eyes questioned me, but I soon began leaving a trail of kisses along his bold jaw line before finding the soft spot below his ear to kiss and nip at. A low moan escaped from his mouth, a sound I would never tire of hearing.
I pulled at the hem of his white shirt, Taehyung finally getting the hint and pulling it over his head. I ran my hands over his smooth caramel skin, the light from the fire illuminating his complexion. “I must have done something really good in a past life, to be rewarded with someone like you, Kim Taehyung,” running my fingers along his prominent collar bones, draping my hands behind his neck.
“Let me see how beautiful you are” he smiled, helping me pull my own top over my head. Smiling, Taehyung ran his hand up the back of my neck, pulling my lips to his own once again. He shifted so he could lay down on the couch, pulling me down onto him, as the fire continued to burn well into the night.
Keep Me Warm
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 15 - Building a Snowman Day 17 - Messing Around in the Snow
Masterlist

“Taehyung!” I shouted, even though morning had just arrived. I had made my way downstairs, our glass kitchen door catching my eye as it revealed our back porch blanketed in white snow. The first snow of this December.
“Whaaat?” I heard a grumpy voice call back, clearly not wanting to get up.
“You have to come see!” I called back.
Bare footsteps made their way down stairs, dragging a sleepy boy with them. His hair was still a mess, as he rubbed his sleep riddled eyes.
“Look” I squealed, pointing to the kitchen door.
Taehyung stared outside until realisation dawned on his sleepy face.
“It’s snowing!” He announced excitedly.
I stood next to him next to the door and looked out at our white garden, the strong wind blowing the snow sideways. “Do you think the storm will settle down and we’ll be able to go outside later?”
“Let’s hope so” Taehyung smiled down at me. “I think a snowball fight is in order” he said, nudging his shoulder into mine.
“Ha! You don’t know what’s coming for you” I teased, going to switch on the kettle and make the two of us a hot drink while enjoying the storm from our warm kitchen.
***
The storm began settling throughout late morning, and after lunch it looked as if it had finally passed. Taehyung and I stopped the movie we were watching, to rush upstairs and put warm clothes on.
Taehyung pulled open to kitchen door, both gasping as we were met with the lingering freeze in the air. I run passed him outside, bending my knees to feel the snow in my glove covered hands. I squealed out suddenly as a heavy force banged against my body, pulling me onto the cold ground, Taehyung’s loud laugh in my ears.
“Tae! You’re such an ass!” I yelled, laughing, his grip tightly around my waist.
“Maybe. But it’s an ass you love” he smirked, winking.
I couldn’t help but laugh, playfully rolling my eyes. He was right, and he bloody knew it.
“Let’s build a snowman” Taehyung suddenly announced, as he pulled me up from the wet ground.
I giggled at him, reaching up to brush snow from his cheek. “Good idea.”
Having experienced many more snow days and trips than myself, Taehyung taught me how to build a snowman. We rolled up mounds of snow for the body, stacking it on top of each other until we had three spheres of snow ready to decorate.
“I’ll go inside and get a carrot” I said, as Taehyung searched the garden for any rocks to use as facial features.
I was about to open the door, carrot in hand, when I noticed Taehyung was focused on perfecting the shape of the snowman. The perfect opportunity for attack. I slowly and quietly slid the door open and knelt down to the ground to form my weapon quickly.
“Gotcha!” I shouted, as I hurled the snowball towards Taehyung, smacking him in the shoulder.
He shouted out in surprise, my gloves covering my mouth as I laughed. He looked at me in utter betrayal, before a cheeky grin appeared on his face. He bent down to form a snowball in his hands.
“No!” I shrieked, as the ball of snow hit me in the arm, Taehyung laughing at my reaction.
“Oh-ho you are dead, Kim Taehyung!”
***
We spent a good portion of the afternoon messing around in the snow together, finally deciding to come inside when the sun started to disappear and the cold was no longer bearable. Taehyung and I walked back inside, the two of us wet and shivering from being covered in snow. I took off my gloves and beanie, chucking them on the kitchen table only to be greeted by a pair of hands snaking around my waist.
Taehyung hummed into my ear “you know what I could really go for right about now? One of your relaxing hot baths.”
I raised my hand against his cheek “I’ll go run you one now.” I said, his boxy grin forming a reply.
I ran the tap until the perfectly warm temperature was met, pouring in some scented bubble bath and adding a soothing bath bomb. While the bath filled, I lit the candles on the side, as well as a few placed near the sink. Once I was happy with the level of the water, I placed a towel on the bench and turned off the lights.
I didn’t need to call for Taehyung as he was already waiting against the door frame, a satisfied smile sat on his face.
“There you go, love. I’ll have a shower while you’re in there so I can warm up too.” I began to walk when he moved in the door frame, blocking my way.
“You’re not going to join me” Taehyung smirked “seems like a waste otherwise.”
My stomach began to flutter at his forwardness, the heat already returning to my face. “Well, I would hate to pass up an offer like that” I smiled, struggling to keep eye contact.
Taehyung wasted no time removing his clothes, myself following his lead and doing the same. There was a different tension present. More intimate and vulnerable than sexual. We had slept together plenty of times, but there was something different about being exposed to each other this way. Once we were fully undressed, Taehyung walked passed me into the dimly lit bathroom and dipped his hand in to test the water. I stood behind him as he slipped into the water, and fully emerged into the bubbles.
He turned to me and smiled, beckoning me to join him. I lightly stepped into the warm bath and began to sit facing him, only to have him hold out one arm towards me and pat his chest with the other. I shuffled in the water to move to sit between his legs, my back pressed against his bare chest. I would never get used to how beautiful he looked in any situation. His cheeks were flushed pink and the hair covering his forehead was already beginning to become damp from the condensation.
He gently rubbed his hands up and down my thighs, and I immediately closed my eyes, humming in satisfaction. I didn’t know what was making me hotter, the temperature of the water or our naked bodies pressed together.
I rested my head back on his shoulder. His deep voice vibrated against me “we should definitely do this more often.”
And I couldn’t agree more.
Movie Night
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 14 - Watching Christmas Movies
Authors note - short (but sweet) drabble for this prompt :)
Masterlist

I was sitting on the floor, my back against the couch as I scrolled aimlessly through my phone.
“Wanna watch a movie” Taehyung asked as he made his way over, stepping over me to sit on the couch. He sat with his legs on either side of my body and started softly playing with my hair.
I lent my head back between his legs, trying to look up at him.
“Something Christmassy?” I asked.
“Of course” he rolled his eyes, smiling “it’s a sin to watch anything non-festive during the month of December”
I laughed, appreciating how he loved Christmas time as much as me. I reached to the coffee table in front of me grabbing the remote to scroll through the Christmas section on Netflix. After Taehyung argued against me that Love Actually wasn’t nearly as festive enough, we narrowed our choices down to Elf and The Grinch.
“They’re both one of my favourites, so you make the decision” I said, unable to choose.
Taehyung placed his hand on his chin, looking past me as he thought hard about the clearly tough debate. His eyes shot back to me, smiling “Elf!”
“Elf it is” I replied, hitting play.
Taehyung grabbed me under the arms and pulled me up onto the couch next to him. He reached down next to the couch and threw our favourite knitted, grey blanket over the two of us.
We hadn’t settled into the movie long when the sound of tiny paws trotted across the kitchen tiles and into the lounge room.
“Hi Tan” Taehyung cooed. The little pomeranian stared between us, tilting his head before hopping up on the other end of the couch. He turned in a few circles before curling up against a pillow. Taehyung gave his belly a quick rub before announcing he was grabbing us a drink and some snacks.
I paused the movie as he walked out of the room, and looked over to a relaxing Yeontan. I reached out and gave him a small pet “You comfy there, Tannie?”
Yeontan looked up at me, and quickly stood up to bound over to me. He sat down against my leg, gave a yawn as he stretched out his front legs, before curling up in Taehyung’s spot and falling right back to sleep.
Taehyung’s footsteps shuffled against the carpet as he walked back into the lounge room carrying two glasses of eggnog, and a bowl of popcorn under his arm. He stopped in his tracks when he saw his place was taken,
“Sorry babe, you’ve been replaced” I giggled, petting along Yeontan’s back.
“Tan what the hell?” he laughed, acting offended “are you trying to steal my girlfriend, buddy?”
“He might just be a better cuddler than you, Tae” I teased.
“I don’t believe that for a second!” Taehyung replied, as he reached down to pick up Yeontan. The small dog squirmed within his hold as Taehyung sat back down next to me. Yeontan jumped out of Taehyung’s hands and scrambled under the blanket, curling back up between the two of us.
“He’s such a jealous boy” Taehyung laughed.
“Just like his owner” I smirked.
“Hey!” Taehyung pouted.
I giggled as I pulled my boyfriend close to be, careful not to squish Yeontan. “You do give the best hugs by the way.”
“Tannie’s got nothing on me” he replied, putting his arm around me and squeezing tight. Taehyung smiled his boxy grin at me, gabbing the bowl of popcorn to place between us, snuggled against each other as we enjoyed the festive film and the sound of Yeontan’s faint snores.
You Just Can’t Help Yourself, Can You?
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 18 - Singing Christmas Songs Day 21 - Prepping food for Christmas Day
Masterlist

It was late morning, a few days before Christmas, and I was in the kitchen baking a handful of small desserts to take to Taehyung’s family for Christmas Day. Also planning on cooking a dish, Taehyung was currently at the shops picking up some ingredients.
I always needed something playing in the background while I baked, so while I had the house to myself, I decided to blast some Christmas music and sing along.
“Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree.. for me. I’ve been an awful good girl. Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight..”
I swayed my hips along to the alluring tune, doing a solo performance in the kitchen as the kitchen aid mixed the cake batter. The room was so loud that I failed to hear Taehyung walk through the front door.
“Think of all the fun I've missed.. think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed. Next year I could be just as good, if you'll check off my Christmas list..”
I jumped when an unexpected pair of hands grabbed a hold of my rocking hips, immediately registering the familiar scent of my boyfriend.
Taehyung pressed his body against my back, his fingers gently pressing into my hips, his warm breath against my neck. “Why would you tease me like that jagi..”
His hips were pressed against my own, as he rocked them in time to the suggestive carol. “Oh, I’m the tease am I?” I smirked, a wave of heat and nervousness racing through my body as I felt how turned on he really was.
“Don’t you have some cooking to do?” I questioned, knowing very well I had to get this baking done.
“Mmm. Just dance with me a bit. Please.” I could hear the pout on Taehyung’s face, even when I wasn’t looking at him.
I spun around to face him, as my playlist switched to the next song. Taehyung’s face lit up as a slow version of a All I Want For Christmas Is You came on, he immediately began to sing along.
“I don’t want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need.. I don’t care about the presents I underneath the Christmas tree.”
Taehyung’s solid brown eyes bore into my own, a soft smile etched onto his face as he swayed us back and forth around the kitchen. His arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me close, as my own were held around his neck. It wasn’t long before I joined in with his singing.
“Cause I just want you here tonight, holding on to me so tight.. what more can I do. Oh baby, all I want for Christmas is you”
I rested my head against his chest, resulting in him pressing his chin a top my head as he continued to sing.
“I wish we could just stay like this, forget about the rest of the world” I hummed, as the song came to a finish.
Taehyung pressed a kiss to my hair before tilting my chin up to face him. “Me too, jagi” he smiled, before softly slapping my behind, his smile growing wider.
“You just can’t help yourself, can you?” I chucked.
“I don’t hear any complaints” he teased.
“You’re family will complain if we don’t bring any food for Christmas!”
“Ah, good point!” Taehyung turned to grab the grocery bag he left on the table and I slapped his behind, resulting in him to jump forward as he ran into the other room.
“You just can’t help yourself, can you?” he winked.
I shrugged, giggling, as I turned back to my baking. Taehyung soon joined me, the two of us spending the rest of the morning cooking, loudly singing along to Christmas carols, and continuing to flirt with each other.
Our own separate, little Christmas
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 13 - Writing Christmas Cards Together Day 16 - Wrapping Presents Day 22 - Exchanging Presents with the Boys
Authors note - this ended up being more about writing cards than exchanging gifts, I think my inspiration has been running a bit on the last couple of drabbles. I have one more to write for this series, which might take a while to be out as I’m hoping it’s the longest (and one of the more detailed drabbles)

We’ve got these presents to wrap for the boys, plus four for your family” I announced to Taehyung as I sat crossed-legged on the floor surrounded by wrapping paper, decorations, cards and a stack of presents. “Plus a card for everyone on this list.”
“I’ll get started on writing the cards, if you want to wrap?” Taehyung suggested, grabbing the Christmas card list I passed him.
I nodded, passing Taehyung the pile of cards as he sat in front of the coffee table.
The Grinch played on the TV as I wrapped and decorated the gifts we had bought for our family and friends. Taehyung occasionally asked for my input on a card, and read each one aloud to ensure it said everything we wanted it to. Once each gift was wrapped, I tied it with ribbon and added a small decoration of a mini bauble or fake holly. Then finally finishing with a large, festive tag, with love from Y/N and Taehyung written neatly.
I shuffled on my knees over to where he was sitting when it came to writing cards to both our parents. Family was a huge thing for both Taehyung and I, so each of us took the time to write how thankful we were to them, and how much we cared for them. As I finished writing my message to Taehyung’s parents, I turned to catch him reading over my shoulder, smiling.
“Hey!”
“Can’t I read it?” he smiled, innocently.
“Well, yeah I guess. It’s just kinda embarrassing..”
Taehyung squeezed my knee, before picking the card up.
Dear Mr and Mrs. Kim,
Wishing you both a very Merry Christmas, and wonderful new year. Thank you for inviting me to spend Christmas in your home, and for welcoming me into your family - I have always felt as at home as I do with my own family. I want to thank you for raising such a kind, caring and loving son. Taehyung is nothing but a gentleman, and always goes out of his way to make me feel loved. I know you’re just as proud of him as I am.
Looking forward to spending a Korean Christmas with you!
All my love, Y/N xxx
Taehyung finished reading the card, and looked up at me, fondness in his eyes. “Do you know how much they love you” he smiled.
I smiled back shyly, “okay, it’s only fair if I read what you wrote to my parents now.”
“Fair” he agreed, passing me the Christmas card.
Dear Mr and Mrs. Y/L/N,
메리 크리스마스 - Merry Christmas! Thank you for welcoming me so easily into your family. Y/N and I had a wonderful time visiting you earlier in the month, and getting to celebrate an additional Christmas! I know I do not need to tell you how amazing your daughter is. I love her with my whole heart, and would do anything for her. She is my entire world, and I want to thank you for allowing me to meet the love of my life.
새해 복 많이 받으세요 - Happy New Year!
Kim Tae-Hyung.
It wasn’t until I stopped that I realised tears had begun to form in my eyes. I looked up at my boyfriend as he spoke.
“Is it too personal?” he asked.
I shook my head quickly. “You’re going to make them cry, you know that?” I laughed.
“I just spoke what I felt” he smiled.
“I love you too” I said, pulling him in for a kiss.
Our moment was then interrupted by the ring of our apartment doorbell, indicating the boys had arrived for our gift exchange.
I placed a quick peck to Taehyung’s lips, as I stood up to answer the door, Taehyung packing up and quickly placing the boys gifts under the tree.
“Y/N!” Hoseok shouted as I opened the door to the six boys and Jimin, Jin and Namjoon’s girlfriends.
“Hobi!” I smiled, as he pulled me in for a hug.
I greeted the others one by one, letting them through our front door and hearing the yelling from the lounge room as Taehyung greeted his friends. The girls and I rolling our eyes at each other, laughing at how child-like our grown boyfriends behave when they’re in the same room.
While everyone made themselves comfortable in the lounge, placing their own gifts under the tree, Taehyung helped me carry out drinks and snacks to share, placing them on the coffee table and joining the rest of the group. Taehyung took the empty arm chair, immediately pulling me onto his lap and wrapping his arms around me. His friends still cooed and whistled at their younger brother, even after the two years we had been together. While it still caused my cheeks to heat up, Taehyung had come to ignore it.
“Shall we start handing out presents?” Jin asked excitedly, receiving a joyful agreement from Hoseok.
I could’t wipe the smile off my face, watching the boys open their gifts from Taehyung and I, with Tae always giving me a slight squeeze in excitement when someone would start unwrapping one of our gifts. It made me even happier seeing Taehyung’s reaction to opening a gift for us (which he couldn’t help but assist me with the unwrapping!) His eyes would always widen in wonder, as he initially tried to work out what the gift was, to which he would then turn to me and discuss where we could put it, or what we would do with it, his face scrunched up into a smile.
Afternoon turned into evening, the group of us having a wonderful time exchanging Christmas gifts, laughing, drinking and stuffing our faces - our own separate, little Christmas.
Christmas with Taehyung
25 Days of Christmas Challenge
Prompt: Day 23 - Driving Home for Christmas Day 24 - Going to Bed Christmas Eve Day 25 - Waking up Christmas Morning
Authors note - This is very late, but it’s finally the last in my 25 Days of Christmas with Taehyung!
I’ve written the interactions with Taehyung’s family in English, and obviously they would speak Korean. I don’t speak Korean, so it was much easier for me to write something that flowed if it was in English. But just pretend that it’s translated from a Korean conversation hahah :)
Also, if you haven’t read Day 1 and Day 2 yet, I suggest reading those first, as they are linked to this ending :)
Masterlist

“This is the last of it” I announced to Taehyung as I passed him two large containers of food to put in the boot of the car, along with our suitcases and a box full of presents. It was the morning of Christmas Eve, and finally time to drive the 3 and a half hours to Taehyung’s family home for Christmas.
We did a final check on the house, as Taehyung scooped up Yeontan and we made our way to the car. Taehyung strapped Tannie into his harness in the back seat, while I jumped in the front, turning around and cooing at the small pup.
“You excited to go for a ride Tan?” I stated in a cute voice, causing him to start wagging his tail.
Taehyung petted the tiny dogs head with his large hand “we’ll make plenty of stops for you too.”
I turned back around to clip my seatbelt on as Taehyung climbed into the drivers side. He pulled across his own seatbelt and started the car before turning to me and smiling.
“What?” I laughed.
“Nothing” he beamed “I’m just excited to go home with you.”
“We’ll see if you still feeling like that after three hours in the car with me and my obnoxious singing!”
As if on cue, Yeontan barked.
“At least we know someone is” I laughed, turning to rub Yeontan under the chin.
Taehyung turned his head to look out the rear window, placing his tanned arm on the head rest behind me. The sight still causing me to swoon.
It wasn’t long into the drive before I picked up Taehyung’s phone connected to his radio, and scrolled through Spotify. I grinned at him once Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) started playing through the speakers.
“The snow’s coming down” I sang loudly.
“Christmas, I’m watching it fall” Taehyung joined in, just as loud.
“Christmas, lot’s of people around. Christmas, baby please come home” we sang together.
I looked over at my boyfriend, admiring how the morning sun lit up his dark skin and the way his cheeks hid under his sunglasses when he laughed, wondering how it was possible to fall more in love with a person each day.
***
“You okay? You’ve gone really quiet” Taehyung observed as we drove through his hometown.
“Hmm? I’m fine” I smiled back, fiddling with a thread on my knitted jumper.
Taehyung glanced towards me and raised his brows, not buying my answer.
I sighed. “I guess I’m still a bit nervous visiting your family.. they’re wonderful! And so welcoming! But sometimes I worry that they’ll come to think I’m not right for you.. I don’t know..”
I immediately felt his hand reach to grab mine and squeeze it. “I already told you, they adore you. And if they didn’t it wouldn’t change how I feel about you. I wish you could see how much people love you.” Taehyung brought my hand to his lips, placing a quick kiss against the back of it before resting our joined hands back on the center console.
I couldn’t help but smile at how he spoke to me. I was still a little anxious, but Taehyung being right beside put my jittery tummy at ease.
The car finally pulled onto a long, stone driveway leading up to a picturesque country home. Taehyung turned off the engine and immediately squeezed both my hands, giving me a reassuring smile before we stepped out of the car and walked up to the front door.
Without hesitation, Taehyung wrapped his knuckles on the wooden door before opening it.
“Annyeong!” He shouted, slightly crouching as Yeontan squirmed out of Taehyung’s arms and ran into the house. I could hear rushing footsteps follow in reply,
“Taehyung!” His mother greeted as she emerged from the kitchen, pulling the towering boy into a hug.
“Eomma!” His boxy smile and squinted eyes showed how happy Taehyung was to be home.
Taehyung managed to grab the box of food from my hands just before his mother pulled me into a hug. “Y/N, ahh it’s wonderful to see you again dear!”
“You too” I smiled, hugging her back, all my anxiousness disappearing.
“Come inside, we need more hands in the kitchen to help prepare the food for tomorrow!” his mother urged, pulling us both through the hallway.
Taehyung and I glance towards each other and smiled - happy to be home.
Later that night
After an afternoon of preparing tomorrows meal, eating, and family board games, I was sat with Taehyung’s family in the warm living room, the tv playing in the background. My back was resting against my boyfriends shoulder as I listened to his family catch up on each other’s lives.
I could feel my eyes getting heavy as a result of the long drive and busy afternoon, and barely noticed myself beginning to drift into a light sleep. I faintly heard Taehyung’s voice utter my name and feel his body move as he chuckled.
“I think it’s time the two of us went to bed, this ones already fast asleep” I heard him say as he rubbed his hand up and down my arm.
It wasn’t until I felt movement that I reluctantly opened my eyes to Taehyung’s face, my arms draped over his neck as he carried me upstairs to his room.
“Hey sleeping beauty” he winked, laughing softly.
“I fell asleep” I admitted, before realising I had done so while socialising with his family. “I need to apologise to your parents”
“It’s fine” he smiled “they could see how tired you were. Besides, they’re happy you feel comfortable around them.”
I nodded sleepily as Taehyung sat me down on his bed, quickly changing into my pjs. I heard the tiny feet of Yeontan making his way into the room, and jumping up on the bed. He circled around himself before deciding on the spot at the end of the bed. Freshly changed into his own pyjamas, Taehyung crawled into bed and pressed his body against my own to create warmth.
I wrapped my arm around his tummy, pressing my head against his side, instantly sighing at his presence. “Goodnight Tae.”
“Goodnight my love” he replied, kissing the top of my head.
The next morning
I awoke to unfamilar surroundings, with a familiar arm clung around my waist. It took me a moment to register we were back in Taehyung’s family home and Christmas morning had finally come. It was the one morning I could never sleep in as I turned to face a sleeping Taehyung, lips slightly parted and pouting.
He must have felt me stir, causing him to grumble and slowly open his eyes to meet my own.
“Merry Christmas” I smiled, voice hoarse from hours of sleep.
“Merry Christmas jagi” he replied deeply, pressing his forehead to my own.
“Ah” Taehyung suddenly said, causing me to jump as he pulled away. He sat up from the bed as he looked for something in his bedside draw, his caramel skin and toned back on full display.
He handled me a small package, neatly wrapped in ribbon.
“Tae” I smiled.
“It’s your last advent present”
I couldn’t help but giggle, looking up at him in confusion “you do know you only have to go up to 24 days for advent, love.”
“I know” he smiled bashfully. “But this is a special one, and I wanted to give it to you on Christmas Day.”
I sat up on all fours, leaning over to kiss his lips softly “thank you” I smiled, as I began to gently unwrap his gesture.
I disregarded the fancy paper, revealing Taehyung’s gift. I held in my hands the cutest pair of baby booties and a confused look on my face. “Wha- Tae?”
He laughed, rubbing his hand through his messy bed hair.
“Did I miss something? You know I’m not pregnant..?” I laughed.
“No, I know!” He giggled. Taehyung took one of the boots from my hands and began to fiddle with it. “Remember when we went Christmas shopping and we saw all those children meeting Santa?”
I nodded at the fond memory.
“And I said I couldn’t wait to start a family with you. I wanted to show you that I meant that. And we will always have something to remember this moment.” He kept his gaze focused on the small boot, smiling shyly and cheeks slightly blushed.
I placed my hand on the side of his face, bringing his eyes to focus on mine.
“God dammit I love you so much, Kim Taehyung” I laughed as my eyes blurred from warm tears. I reached out for his hand, lacing our fingers together. “And I can’t wait to start a family with you.”
Without saying anything Taehyung immediately pulled me into a hug, singing as he pressed his lips onto the skin of my shoulder. “And I love you endlessly, Y/N Y/L/N”.
He pulled back to reveal a smirk, and whispered in his deep voice “but don’t make me wait too long” he winked, causing my lower abdomen to stir and my cheeks to flush.
We were brought back to reality hearing the sounds of Taehyung’s family waking up, unable to contain their excitement of Christmas Day.
“We should probably join them” I spoke almost in a whisper, still transfixed by my boyfriends gesture.
“I guess you’re right” he smiled shyly, gently moving the strands of hair falling over my eyes.”Merry Christmas, Y/N”
I learned over, pressing a soft kiss against his parted lips. “Merry Christmas, Tae.”

Puppy Love - Part 1

I had grown up in the same place my whole life, and over time it felt less like a small, humble country town, and more like being sealed inside a giant wall. As I grew older, I knew that if I didn’t leave that comfort and see the world, my life would stay exactly as it was.
It took me years, and even more courage, but the day finally came when I took that leap of faith (others might say ludicrous) and moved across the ocean to a new country where I knew nobody. Ensuring that I had a place to live, and a business to work in, I purchased a one-way ticket for myself South Korea, my best buddy(and dog), Kanna by my side. Thankfully, working for a large animal welfare company back home allowed me to apply for positions offered in other countries, South Korea included.
I went to see if I could set up my own life there. Something for myself.
***
A month had gone by before I started to feel that this could be home. I had made friends in my apartment building, and the feeling of longing for my old town had settled.
I tried to make the most of my days off by getting out of my apartment and appreciating my new city. I was sitting outside a cafe, sipping on a warm latte with my head in my phone, Kanna sitting nicely as always by my side.
Suddenly she started pinning and began furiously wagging her tail as a small black and brown dog appeared under our table. Neither dogs looked threatening towards each other, both seeming like they wanted to play.
“Hey there little guy, where did you come from” I asked, holding out my hand to the small dog.
I looked up as a young man appeared in front of me. I immediately noticed how well dressed he was in a grey turtle neck, hidden under a large brown coat. As if it were some form of disguise, he removed his sunglasses and black facemask, bowing his head and frantically speaking in Korean.
“Mianhajiman hangug-eoleul jal moshaeyo. Yeong-eo.” I smiled apologetically. (I’m sorry, but I don’t speak Korean well. English.)
The young man smiled in return “Oh! I also speak a little English” his accent immediately charming me. “I am so sorry about my dog! We were walking by and he must have been interested in your dog and he jumped out of my arms before I could even react! I hope we didn’t startle you..”
“Oh no no, it’s fine! Kanna is more than happy to make new friends, she is very good” I smiled, rubbing her back as she continued to sniff at the her new friend.
“Kanna, what a sweet name. What type of dog is she?”
“She’s a Japanese Akita”
“May I?” He asked, holding his hand towards her.
“Of course! She’s very friendly”
As the young man knelt down to say hello to my dog I came to notice just how handsome he really was. His dark, wavy hair, fell around his face and framed his soft, yet masculine features. The way his ears showed from under his hair, multiple earrings catching the sun’s rays (were they Chanel?) His lips curving into a boxy smile that spread across his face, and the way his eyes scrunched as Kanna licked his caramel skin.
I only realised I was staring when he looked up at me laughing, and I was met with his dark brown eyes. I couldn’t help but notice how kind they were.
I was snapped back into reality when his own dog yelped out playfully.
“Yeontan, don’t be rude!” They young man laughed, ruffling the fur of his small dog.
“Aw hello Yeontan” I cooed, allowing him to sniff my hand.
“He’s a bit of an attention seeker. Especially around pretty girls” he laughed, and I couldn’t help but notice he seemed more nervous.
I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks and immediately tried to change the subject. “He’s a pomeranian?”
He nodded, before raising his eyebrows “how rude of me, I haven’t even asked your name!”
“I’m Y/N” I smiled.
The young man held out his large hand, his wrist decorated with simple bracelets and two small rings on his fingers.
“I’m Taehyung”
His hand was instantly warm to touch, and completely enveloped my own.
“Your accent? Is that Y/Country?” He asked.
“It is!” I beamed “I actually just moved here about a month ago. New scenery, you know?”
Taehyung opened his mouth to answer, but something across the street had caught his eye, and I turned to see a group of people muttering among themselves in his direction, causing him to shift his weight uncomfortably.
He looked at the silver watch on his left wrist “Ah! I’m sorry, but I have to get going.”
A wave of sadness washed over me and I mentally slapped myself out of it - I hadn’t known this guy for more than five minutes.
“That’s okay” I nodded “Um.. it was nice to meet you and Yeontan” I gave his small dog a scratch under the chin as Taehyung scooped him up in his arm.
“Maybe we could meet up again..?” He quietly asked, quickly to add “I’m sure the dogs would love to have a proper play!”
“That sounds really nice.”
I exchanged numbers with Taehyung, something I probably would never had done back home, and we said our goodbyes.
As I watched his tall figure walk away, I looked down to my dog and smiled, giving her a pat on the head and feeling very glad she was with me today.
And I could have sworn I heard him say “good job, Tannie.”

I tried not to think too much about the handsome man and his dog that stumbled their way into my morning, but that was easier said than done.
I didn’t want to text him right away, maybe I’ll just wait and let him text me first? However that didn’t stop me from glancing at my phone every chance I could through out the day, to see if he had messaged.
It was later on in the evening, the day I had met Taehyung, that my phone pinged. I reached forward from the couch grabbing it off my coffee table so fast that Kanna jolted up in alarm, only to lay her head back down in front of the heater when she realised it was nothing, as if rolling her eyes.
His name read across my screen, the subject of the message only reading Attached: 1 Image. I unlocked my phone and immediately laughed when I saw what he had sent.

Y/N: Awww 😍 what perfect company 😊
T: He’s not much for conversation though!
Y/N: Hahah more of a listener?
T: When he feels like it 😂 he knows all my darkest secrets though.. 😳
Before I had the chance to flirt back, I noticed Taehyung was typing again.
T: It was really nice meeting you today, I’m sorry I had to run off so suddenly 😔
Y/N: Don’t be! It was lovely to meet you too 😊 I hope you weren’t late for anything..
T: No, all good! But I did mean what I said about catching up again. I know this really nice park, that’s not too far from that cafe. Kanna and Tannie could have a proper play!
Y/N: That sounds great! I would love to 😊
T: How does tomorrow sound?
Y/N: I don’t work Sundays, so tomorrow sounds perfect!
T: Great! Shall we meet at the same spot? 11?
Y/N: 11 it is 👍🏻
T: I gotta run 😔 but I’m really looking forward to tomorrow, Y/N
T: 😘
Even as a grown adult, I could help smile to myself as butterflies formed in my stomach at the sight of the emoji he had sent.
Y/N: Me too, Taehyung x
***
I woke up early the next morning to give myself plenty of time to stress about what I would wear. I spent at least an hour in front of my mirror trying to match tops with boots, and dresses with hats. I didn’t want to look over the top dressed, we were going to a park after all, but I still wanted to look eye catching.
And was this even a date?
Thankfully, the sun was out for today, so I decided to go for a floral dress and denim jacket, and a pair of sandals. After applying a light amount of make up, I clipped Kana’s lead on and began the walk to the cafe.
I couldn’t ignore the nerves in my stomach that seemed to became more aggressive the closer we got to the cafe. We turned the corner and there he was, sitting on an outdoor bench teasing Yeontan as he sat on his lap.
He looked up innocently with big doe eyes only for them to crinkle at the corners when he smiled, realising we were here.
“Y/N” he beamed, allowing his dog to hop off his lap and greet mine.
“Hi Taehyung” I smiled.
“You look lovely, by the way”
“Oh, thank you. It’s nice that the suns out today!”
He dressed a lot more relaxed than he did the previous day. He wore a loosely fit white shirt, tucked into a belted pair of beige pants.
Taehyung nodded “shall we start walking?” He asked
“I must say” I added as we made our way to the park “you certainly know how to dress well”
He looked down at his ensemble “Thank you! I guess I’ve always found fashion to be a great form of self expression” he seemed shy at his statement.
“That’s wonderful! I’m not very brave when it comes to fashion, you’ll have to help me out there” I laughed.
I felt his eyes land on me, making me meet them as he smiled.
After walking for around five minutes Taehyung enthusiastically announced we had arrived. He let Yeontan off his leash, promoting me to do the same. Leading me over to a wooden bench under a tree, we watched our dogs play and investigate the area.
“They get on so well” Taehyung laughed.
“They do! I guess it would be awkward if they didn’t” I laughed in reply.
“Well, I’d have to have a stern word to my dog. Cause I’d still want to see you.”
I looked up to meet his eyes, his pink lips were curved into a soft smile. For the first time in my life, I actually felt comfortable with this lingering eye contact. He made me feel.. safe.
“So Y/N?” His voice would have startled me if it wasn’t so calming “what brings you all the way to Seoul?”
Taehyung was so easy to talk to, and was such a good listener. He looked deeply into my eyes, listening intently to everything I told him. The only time we broke conversation was to look out in front of us, making sure our dogs were okay.
I told him about my job working with animals, which made him very excited as he told me how much he loved animals himself. I learnt he was only a year younger than me, which was surprising as he presented himself with such confidence and maturity. I even found myself telling him (this still kind of a stranger) how I just needed to leave Y/Country and start a life for myself.
“I think that’s wonderful. I’m sure it was a scary thing for you to do, but you needed to! And look where you are now” he grinned.
I laughed at his enthusiasm, but noticed the wisdom behind his words.
“What about you? Are you working?” I asked “Or studying”
He didn’t answer right away, his brows slightly furrowed together as if deciding how to answer. He then quickly looked back up and smiled, and simply said “I sing.”
“Wow, really? That’s really cool!”
I couldn’t help but notice the faint shade of pink appearing on his sun-kissed cheeks.
“How long have you done that for?” I asked. For some reason, I felt he didn’t want to go into too much detail.
“I guess you could say it’s been my job for about 7 years. But I’ve always sung”
I didn’t want to make him uncomfortable so I simply smiled “well.. I hope I can hear you sing one day.”
There was that cheeky grin again!
My eyes averted to the ground behind Taehyung to see Kana and Yeontan curled up together, clearly exhausted form running around.
Taehyung chucked as he followed my eyesight “looks like they’ve worn themselves out!”
“We should probably get them home” I suggested, as much as I didn’t want to leave we had been out for a fair few hours now.
“Come on, I’ll walk you home” he offered as he stood up, holding his hand out towards me.
***
I had never felt so disappointed to see my apartment building. I slowed my walking to stop in front of the buildings entrance, causing Taehyung to do the same.
“This is me” I smiled “thanks for walking us home, even though you didn’t have to.”
“It was our pleasure, wasn’t it Tan!” He bounced the little dog in his arm, before putting him down on the footpath.
I shuffled awkwardly between my feet.
“Y/N?”
“Yeah?”
“I really enjoyed taking our dogs out today - “
I nodded in agreement, smiling.
“- But if you’ll let me, I’d like to take you out for a really nice meal. Just the two of us this time!” he laughed, and I couldn’t help but notice the nerves his voice carried.
“I would really like that!”
His boxy smile appeared once again, highlighting how cute he was. “Okay! Um.. I’ll have to check my schedule for next week, so text me what day suits you and we’ll organise something.”
“I will” I nodded.
Taehyung then glanced behind him, before turning back towards me shyly. “You have a good night, okay.”
“Thanks, you too. And thank you for today, we had a wonderful time” I said glancing down at my dog patiently waiting next to me.
I then felt myself enveloped in Taehyung’s hug. His arms were wrapped tightly around me, my head only just reaching his shoulders. My arms came to rest around his waist, as I took in his delicate scent. His hug was sincere, and ended far too quickly for my liking.
***
As I laid down in bed that night, I unlocked my phone and opened up the internet. Curiosity had got the best of me.
He said singing was his job for a while now. Surely he was a little well known then.
I typed in Kim Taehyung, shocked at the search that came up.
BTS? I've definitely heard that around the internet before?
The more I searched, the more I discovered how popular he was, going by the stage name, V. I could tell by the way he was dressed when we first met that he wasn’t short on money, but I could never imagine he would be a world famous performer..
And yet, he never mentioned it?
I closed my phone, feeling guilty. Maybe I shouldn’t have searched? There was obviously a reason why he didn’t want to tell me straight away. He probably wanted to tell me in his own time.
And I would let him.
I placed my phone on charge and rolled over onto my pillow, letting my mind replay the lovely day I had. Not with V, a member of a famous South Korean boy band.
But with Taehyung. The sweet, handsome boy with the cheeky smile, who’s hand fit in mind perfectly.

*Buzz*
I ran over to my apartment intercom, pressing the speaker.
“Y/N! Are you ready for dinner?” Taehyung announced through the machine.
“Hi Taehyung! I’ll let you up.”
I felt nervous around Taehyung before because he was a cute guy showing me affection, but now that I knew what a big name he was, my nerves skyrocketed as he approached my apartment. I just hoped he told me soon, because I hated the thought of keeping it from him that I knew.
He had messaged me a few days earlier to say the restaurant we were going to was quite prestigious, and suggested I should wear my best dress (it was a polite way of warning me that I wouldn’t want to show up in the wrong dress code!) After many outfit crises, I went for a laced lilac bodycon dress, with a square shoe-string strap top. I also went to the extra effort to loosely curl my hair. I sat down to put on my sensible, but classy, heels and waited for Taehyung to arrive.
Even the knock at my door matched his cool demeanour. As I opened it, I was amazed by how many times this guy could wow me with his fashion. He wore black pants and black slip-on dress shoes with gold trimming. Tucked into his belt was a subtle floral button up shirt, and I didn’t miss that the top button was undone.
“You look.. stunning” he exclaimed, as I noticed his eyes grazed up and down my figure, before quickly darting to my eyes as he smiled.
“Is it okay to wear?” I asked nervously trying to adjust the dress, unsure sure how to react.
“Definitely” he confidently smirked, heat rushing to my face. “Shall we head off then?”
I nodded happily, grabbing my coat from the couch and locking the door behind us.

We made our way into the notably fancy restaurant, my arm linked around his. A smartly-dressed man bowed as we entered, as Taehyung announced reservations under his name. The man led us past an array of diners until I noticed we were near the back of the restaurant. He stopped us at a table located at a full length corner window showing a stunning view of Seoul’s lights at night, and trees strung with warm fairy lights. The table was lined with a few candles, highlighting a place card reading VIP Only.
After thanking the employee, Taehyung walked over to one of the chairs, pulling it out and gesturing me to sit. Before I did, he placed his hands on my shoulders and gently removed my coat. I couldn’t help but notice his warm hands slightly brushing against my bare shoulders.
He smiled brightly as he sat down opposite me “are you comfortable?”
“Yes, thank you! It’s a beautiful spot” I said, looking out over the city.
A waiter appeared at our table, handing us each a menu and pouring us each a glass of wine. Taehyung prompted me to have a read of the menu. I must not have hidden my worried face after looking at the prices of each dish, because he was quick to comment. “My shout, Y/N.”
“I don’t expect you..” I argued, but he cut me off by shaking his head.
“It’s fine, I want to” he smiled. “Although, I guess you are wondering how I can afford a place like this..” he began tracing around the bottom of his wine glass.
“Well..”
Taehyung looked up at me. I smiled guiltily, causing him to chuckle. “I thought you might figure it out.”
“I was curious about your music..” I said, laughing in defence.
“It’s fine” Taehyung laughed “So? Do you like it?”
I nodded frantically “you’re incredibly talented! All of you.”
“Thank you” his boxy grin spreading across his face “you probably know the story of BTS now?”
“I’d much rather hear it from you than a bunch of internet articles” I smiled, taking a sip of wine.

“Can I ask you a question?” I said quietly, after hearing how Taehyung became such a successful idol. He simply nodded. “Why me?” I asked.
Taehyung looked at me, ever so slightly tilting his head to the side, unsure of what I meant.
“I mean, why did you talk to me that day? And choose to take me out to a place like this?”
He shrugged his shoulders, but smiled sweetly “I don’t know?”
Not really the answer I was wanting to hear..
“Sorry! I don’t mean that in a bad way! It’s just.. there was something about you. The way you showed love to your dog, I could see how caring you are. And that’s something I’ll always look for in a friend.”
I felt my heart drop into my stomach as that last word left Taehyung’s lips. I wanted to sink down into my chair and disappear, cursing myself for thinking he was actually interested in anything more. My eyes met Taehyung’s and he smiled, clearly unaware I was expecting him to say anything else.
“Plus it was refreshing meeting someone who didn’t know who I was” he said lightly, before looking down at his food “sometimes it’s hard to know who is your friend because of you or because of your fame.”
I could see the sadness behind his eyes.
“That is.. if you still want to be friends?” He continued. “I understand if this world is all a bit much.”
I was quick to shake my head “of course I do Taehyung, you’re a good friend and I’m glad I met you” I smiled, trying to hide my disappointment. “Plus, I don’t think Tannie and Kanna would be very happy!” I laughed, Taehyung agreeing as he laughed too.
“So.. what about Taehyung away from BTS? How do you enjoy to spend your free time?” I asked, still wanting to know more about Taehyung the person, not the idol.
“I like photography. And art” he smiled fondly. “I also like to learn the occasional instrument.”
“Wow, you certainly keep yourself busy. What sort of photos do you take?”
“Anything really. I like to capture things I love. Whether that’s scenery or people. I just really like having a snapshot of something beautiful.” He spoke so passionately, I could listen to him speak all day.
A main course, dessert and a whole bottle of wine later we decided it was time to call it a night.
“Thank you for dinner, Taehyung. I had a wonderful time” I said as we got out of his car at the front of my apartment building.
“Thank you for spending time with me tonight” he smiled softly, pulling me in for hug. “Let’s catch up again soon.”
“I’d love that” I agreed, slightly disappointed to know that this hug was only one shared between friends.
But a friend I was happy to have.
