chan watched people chatting excitedly around him, the little church was full of her family and friends, and for the first time in years he was wearing a suit, all the other men there wore the same, the difference between them and the musician was that while everyone looked elegant dressed in black he stood out in plain white.

the groom was already standing at the altar, waiting for the arrival of the woman who would soon be his for the rest of their lifes. and as the boy’s gaze wandered over the expression of the future husband of the girl he loved he felt destroyed, he knew he should have stayed home, but it was already too late to go back now, he would have to endure the torture of seeing her hand in hand with another man, smiling at another man, declaring herself to another man. the worst part was that deep down he knew it was only his fault. after all it was he who let the girl escape through his fingers.

soon the environment becomes quieter, people settle into their seats and prepare for the entrance of the bride that was about to begin, the heart of the composer began to beat even faster and he came to feel nauseous, he never had felt so weak in all his 21 years of life.

she was unique, chan knew this, so when young and beautiful by lana del rey begins to play instead of the traditional wedding music he isn’t surprised. she looked gorgeous, the dress she wore wasn’t fancy or anything, it was just a simple white dress, the silver heels highlighting the color of the girl’s eyes, and when his gaze meets hers he swallows hard, because he had never regretted so much in his life, and now he had lost her forever.

the ceremony took place in front of his eyes, chan was restless, his turbulent thoughts being reflected in his body, and he tried his best not to let his nervousness show up for his college friend whom he had taken as a companion, but then everything changes figure when the priest says the most significant words of the night. at least for him.

“will you promise to love and support their marriage in all the days to come? if so, please respond "we will”.“ y/n held the hands of her soon to be husband, both smiling as they turned to face the guests there, hoping to see in their faces the same happiness they should be feeling right now. chan felt his hands shake, and his skin that was already pale by the lack of sunshine seemed even lighter at that moment, he frozed. he simply couldn’t repeat those words, he couldn’t agree to it without at least trying one more time, so he made a decision.

"i’m- i’m sorry.” was all he whispered to the girl sitting beside him on the wooden bench, he didn’t love her, he would never be able to, the most he could feel for her was affection, and yet when he kissed her he didn’t felt any pleasure at all, because the only woman he had already loved, was there, at that altar, about to give her life into the hands of another guy.

he got up, the priest immediately stopped talking while the eyes of everyone turned to his figure in the middle of the church, he and the bride being the only ones standing in white, the whole scene seemed to be taken from one of those cheesy romance movies, but this wasn’t a movie, it was real, and he needed to have courage so that the words could flowed from his lips.

her gaze finally met his, there were people staring at him and murmuring in each other’s ears, the groom seemed tense and then he quickly sat down again, it was crazy wasn’t? he simply couldn’t interrupt his best friend’s wedding like that.

the priest spoke a few more words, the blonde sighed and ran his hand through his hair, it couldn’t be like this, he thought, he couldn’t be a coward again, not now, this was his last chance, after that it was game over. and he wouldn’t be the winner.

“i love you y/n. i always have.” he stood up once again, letting the words go free through his mouth without a second thought, if he stopped to reflect on his act he would just give up, and he couldn’t let the fear of rejection take over his being.

“i love everything about you. even the things i don’t like i love.”

the girl on the altar seemed to be in shock, as if the world around her were falling apart and her heart was about to come out of her mouth. chan didn’t knew if that reaction from her was something positive, but he still continued to speak, letting his heart guide him.

“i want you with me. i love you, and i think that you love me too… do you?” her hands began to tremble, she looked at all the faces there, they all looked as shocked as she was at that revelation coming from her friend. the groom now seemed to be filled with hatred, deep inside he knew y/n still loved her best friend, everyone knew. so what happened after the bride’s gaze met the one of the boy standing in front of the altar wasn’t a surprise to anyone.

they really did that, they ran out of the church hand in hand, without looking back or caring about the evil looks that some of the people threw at them, it was a complete madness, leaving everything behind, the party, the guests and the now ex-fiancé, but she didn’t regret anything, after months she finally felt happy again, and she knew that with the musician on her side that feeling would last for a long time.

but chan seemed to understand the reaction of the girl he loved in the wrong way, she was panting and her gaze was fixed on the road ahead of them, he got worried for a moment, what if she had regretted her decision? what if she was confused and realized she didn’t love him like before? he wasn’t sure of what to do and the boy felt like he was going to explode at any minute. after all it wasn’t every day that he interrupted his best friend’s wedding to declare himself to her in front of everyone they knew.

“you don’t want to do this anymore?” his voice was hoarse and although the car wasn’t moving his hands still held the steering wheel tightly as a way to aliviate the nervous that ran through his veins.

she turned to face him, her hair a little messy and the bridal veil still on her head, before he could process the event she glued her lips to his, contrary to what he thought their first kiss after almost a year wasn’t calm at all, she felt the need to prove to herself that this was real, that chan was right there in front of her and that she could finally touch him again.

the boy wasted no time either, bringing one of his hands to her neck while the other came to rest on her waist, his grip tightening there over the delicate dress, feeling her in his hands. god how he missed that, kissing someone he loved, someone who actually meant something to him, letting his heart speak for him without any fear at all.

she broke the kiss briefly, leaning her forehead against his as her gaze traveled over the features of her lover’s face. he was beautiful, his hair was out of place, and the suit that once seemed perfect now was a bit clumsy too, but she wouldn’t change a thing about him, he was all she wanted and she had no doubt when the next words left her lips before she could thought about it twice.

“drive the car.”

they had gotten a room in a cheap roadside hotel, it didn’t seem right to just go home now, things would be very messy and people would ask too many questions. they wanted peace, silence, a moment alone without having to think about the consequences they would face for their recent acts.

y/n got out of the shower, her hair was still wet and her face bare, the veil was thrown in some corner of the room along with the dress that was now useless, everything she wore was one of his shirts that was stored in the boy’s car for an eventual emergency, the steam coming out of the bathroom doors made the scene even more dazzling in his eyes. she was perfect, and he could only feel grateful for what he had done earlier that day.

“you looked breathtaking in that dress. but right now? you look mesmerizing.”

she smiled at his words, heading for bed and sitting on the lap of the shirtless boy, her hands embraced his neck as his went to cup her face, caressing the sensitive skin with the tips of his fingers, admiring the sight he had in front of him, she closed her eyes, wanting to make the most of that sensation.

“what are we going to do now?” her voice was almost a whisper, she opened her eyes, admiring every part of the boy she loved, he brought her closer, wanting to make their bodies one, and before he joined his lips to hers once again that night he answered with the only thing he could think of:

“now? we get married.”
