I Saw A Video Today Explaining How Barriss Offee Could Play A Role In The Bad Batch Show And As Much

I saw a video today explaining how Barriss Offee could play a role in The Bad Batch show and as much as I’d love to find out what happened to her, I think it’s unlikely.

The video said something about Dave Filoni’s plan with her character. Apparently, he was originally going to have her die in TCW season 5 finale arc but decided that he wanted to do more with her character.

TBB is really the only other Star Wars project I can envision Barriss in, but how?

I don’t even think it’s realistic that she’d still be alive. From other episodes, we know that traitors to the republic were executed. Why wouldn’t she have been executed upon her confession?

The last time we see her, Palpatine tells the guards to “take her away,” but where and for what reason? She was a Jedi, so did the council decide her fate? Was she kept as a Jedi prisoner?

Was she imprisoned with the other Republic criminals? If so, why didn’t the Coruscant Guard clones kill her during Order 66? I don’t know how much of pre-Order 66 we’ll see in TBB.

Did Palpatine keep her alive for the sole purpose of making her an inquisitor after his plan was carried out? If he did, Vader would have overseen her training. It wouldn’t make much sense for Vader to let her live when he could so easily kill her for what she did to Ahsoka.

What number inquisitor would she have been? I assume the Grand Inquisitor was 1st and then Trilla is 2nd sister. Wouldnt she be the first one (or second if based on skill, as the grand inquisitor had more experience and helped train the others) if Palpatine kept her alive?

I personally think it’d be cool to see Barriss as an inquisitor, solely for the purpose of seeing her as Vader’s apprentice. Let‘s be honest, she was jealous of Ahsoka. Anakin cared for her, protected her, sacrificed lives and important missions for her, and helped her grow into an amazing person and Jedi. Luminara was very strict, had high expectations, and was pretty detached from Barriss, following the code to the letter. I’m sure Barriss wanted to have Anakin as a master more than anything. I’m convinced that this is why she framed Ahsoka and not someone else. Seeing her as Vader’s apprentice would be bittersweet, at least to me.

Hera Syndulla and Han Solo are the same person and you cannot change my mind

They both:

Are headstrong

Have the initials H.S.

Are great pilots

Have iconic ships

Were captains and then generals for the Rebellion

Fell in love with a Jedi and had a son (named Jacen) with them

Hoping for this chaotic energy between them in Rangers of the New Republic. They already got Alden Ehrenreich to be Han once, might as well let him play Han again

So today in my history class we were learning about fascism and interwar leaders and it was made clear to me that Palpatine is Hitler...

Maybe this is obvious, but they both:

Were relatively small-name politicians

Got elected as Chancellor during a time of distress because the people were desperate for new leadership

(Started a war)

Used their Chancellor status to create a totalitarian state, making themselves a dictator, ruining the previous democratic system

Ordered the near extinction of a religion

Scapegoated said religion to be the cause of the problem so their genocide was accepted by most people

And, because I’m really gonna go all in on this, Darth Vader and the Grand Inquisitor were basically Kapos. They aided in the genocide of their own people in exchange for their death to be delayed or spared.

Also, ~6 million Jewish people were killed during the Holocaust. Order 66...

I don’t care what anyone says, Star Wars is about history/politics and George Lucas is a genius

Are the clones whitewashed in The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch? Absolutely

I support creators that attempt to correct their skin tone but I feel like I should address the other extreme.

Temuera Morrison, the live-action clone actor, is Māori. They are native to New Zealand. Tem is not white, but he is also not black! He is indigenous to New Zealand.

This is Tem as Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (2002):

Are The Clones Whitewashed In The Clone Wars And The Bad Batch? Absolutely

With this reference in mind, both of these images are concerning to me:

Are The Clones Whitewashed In The Clone Wars And The Bad Batch? Absolutely

Trying to bring justice to obvious whitewashing is one thing, but black-fishing is another. Both are harmful to POC communities and I’d just like creators to be mindful.

Thank you

I would just like to talk about this scene in TBB trailer:

I Would Just Like To Talk About This Scene In TBB Trailer:

Omega recognizes the Bad Batch, but they also know that their official name is Clone Force 99 and their individual names, and they say them with admiration. This goes beyond TBB being a ‘legend’ or ‘disgrace’, as clones and/or Kaminoans would see them. They obviously look up to them as role models and heroes.

But it’s TBB’s reaction to Omega recognizing them that really gets me

Hunter is surprised but he seems proud. He’s shocked that Omega knows about them but he’s proud that his squad has become so notorious, and in a positive light at that.

Wrecker is prideful and generally happy. He loves what he does and he’s probably happy that someone other than his squad members appreciates what he does.

Tech is pretty neutral about it. He’s probably not surprised because TBB has a 100% success rate, but he doesn’t seem the boastful or competitive type. He also doesn’t strike me as a ‘kid person’.

Crosshair is suspicious but, as usual, he’s trying to seem as impressive (and intimidating) as possible in front of a new person. He also doesn’t strike me as a ‘kid person’.

But Echo... Echo’s reaction hits me the hardest. He looks at Omega as if he’s anticipating an insult, but it never comes. He was probably expecting for them to skip over him and only acknowledge the other four members. But not only did Omega mention him, but they mentioned him second. I wish we could have seen TBB’s faces when they heard each of their names because I can just imagine Echo’s face lighting up with gratitude and surprise. Later in the trailer, we see Echo holding Omega’s hand and I think this scene is the start to their great platonic relationship.
