KHR Reboot Petition

Okay, KHRblr. We need to band together. How many of us have been waiting for years for KHR to return to the anime scene. Shaman King has been 'revived' (I still prefer the original, but I know that the reboot is still really good), I think KHR needs to have a comeback, and so do many others. On FB, there is a kickstarter of sorts to get another studio to pick up where KHR was left off, and I'm sure that you guys want it as well.

That last post actually reminded me of something...

Why is it that Pidge can do one thing and get no backlash, but as soon as Keith does it, it's suddenly unforgivable? Like, Pidge tries to leave the team, and Keith is the only one who wants them to stay while everyone else lets them leave. Keith leaves and everyone hates him for it. Nobody even tried to stop him. What is this?

Sometimes, it's worse, in that people put down Keith's achievements, which are much more commendable than anyone else's, but build Pidge up so much that it makes me grimace. Pidge flies Green perfectly fine even though they only read manuals, and the fandom builds them up to be an absolute genius who can do anything. Keith flies a Galra jet with no manual and just pure instinct and the ability to adapt to any flight craft? Oh, it's just his Galra genes. Never mind the fact that he also does this with an ancient Altean pod and shows an affinity for flying basically anything. Keith is only good because he's Galra.

Fuck off.

Also, why is it that Pidge can be as angry as they want, but the moment Keith disagrees with a character, he's the worst person ever? This is why I hate this fandom. Because everyone has somehow tricked themselves into believing that Keith is the favourite of the fandom, when he isn't. Lance is. And even Klancers hate Keith. They hate Keith but they ship him with Lance because that's the dynamic that people want, never mind how toxic it would be.

Even Pidge is distorted so heavily by fanon. It makes me wonder if I watched the same Voltron as everyone else. Pidge is rude and self-centred. They aren't just 'feisty' or 'girl/non-binary/trans boss'. They're mean, okay. Especially in season 3. Fuck. Everyone but Allura and Keith were mean in season 3. Don't pretend like they weren't.

It's not that Sheith in and on itself is paedophilic. If it was actually a thing when Keith was 17, Shiro would not be a paedo, if the relationship was purely romantic and he did not fantasize about doing anything inappropriate. It's paedophilia if you date or take advantage of a minor with the intent to have sexual relations. This is something that most anti's do not understand. Paedophilia is about intentions. If anything, it's the fandom who fetishize Sheith who make it seems so paedophilic. I am not calling Sheithens paedophiles. I have never interacted with a Sheithen, so it is not in my right to call any single Sheithen a paedophile, when I have no evidence other than fanart or fanfiction.

The real problem with Sheith is that Keith refers to Shiro as a brother. Not just once, but twice. The second time he calls him that, it's not "You're like a brother to me..." it's "You're my brother." And Kuron, who still believes he is Shiro though clouded by Haggar's mind control, falters at that. Sheithens love to point out the "I love you" line, but that's mostly because they can't comprehend the fact that platonic love exists. Yes, Keith is of age. Yes, it is legal. But, no, it is not something you should indulge in when it's not in their dynamic nor interactions to be considered romantic.

Another issue is that Shiro knew Keith from when he was 14. 14. And I saw a post defending this, saying that, just because you knew someone when they were younger, it doesn't mean that you can't go on to enter a relationship with them, but that is just... wrong. The example they used is meeting someone when you're both of age who you met in middle school/lower secondary. This is a terrible example, because Keith grew up with Shiro and saw him as an older brother - the only person to never give up on him. To Shiro, Keith is the 14-year-old boy he watched grow up. This is not the same as having a childhood friend who is your same age, which is why I do not ship Sheith.

It's not the 'paedophilia' that stops me form supporting this ship, it's the bond they have.

To be honest, I don’t get how shipping 18 year old Keith and 25 year old Shiro is pedophilia like so many people say. I know fiction can have an impact on reality (look at 50 shades of gray) and that an age gap like that would have some issues irl, but pedophilia? When the youngest is 18?

when the reason you hate his apology is because there was no natural progression towards this apology. when the reason you hate his apology is because nobody else knows what he did and thus hasn't faced any consequences. when the reason you hate his apology is because it sounds like he's apologising to help him sleep at night and not for his victim.

i expect that antis will try spinning yet another bullshit narrative along the lines of “Deku doesn’t actually forgive Bakugo, he’s pretending to / Deku hates Bakugo / Katsuki and Izuku still and will always hate each other / bakudeku is still and will always be toxic.”
