There is a lot of negative things being said in the tag about Jikook and doubt. What would it take for you to believe Jikook are 100 percent real?

They enlisted together. They are holding on to each other during a moment of great struggle and challenge. They are not doing it for us to see, they are doing it to endure. Endure a moment that must have caused so much uncertainty and anxiety and fear for personal arrested development. That's what makes me believe they are real.

Also: learn to live with uncertainty. You'll drive yourself off a cliff if you need 💯 proof for certain things. Especially from people on the internet. In real life, learn to give over to someone you trust even if you fear them failing you. Because living with fear must be the sadest thing there is.

I'm feeling emo today, so let's talk about this tweet.

This is my roman empire. For many Jikookers, too. But I feel like there's a slight mistranslation that always gets passed around and we sort of lose the actual meaning behind the tweet when, in reality, there's no reason to be ommiting words. JK's message is still as lovely, but let's revisit it, shall we?

For context, the translation I always see says: (...) you know my heart, you are me I am you. No matter how much I think over*, I love you.

(1) The subject of who knows Jimin is cool is not very clear here, I've gone for *I* because JK is the one writing it and posting the 'ugly' picture. 'Cool' in Korean is often used to compliment a man, and it tends to mean that he's handsome. At least in my personal experience, whenever it was used was when a guy was looking good or had a bit of a 'cool and mysterious' vibe.

(2) You know my heart is a direct translation, but I find that what JK means is "you know my intentions, right?" As if saying, I'm not posting this to make fun of you, it's because it was so funny I couldn't help it.

(3) A more direct translation (but wordier) would be: it was an inevitable decision made for the sake of laughter. 어쩔수없다 is 'can't be helped' or 'there's nothing you can do', 'inevitable'.

*The translation that always goes around ommits the last bit and it annoys me, so, so much. He says no matter how much I think about THE PICTURE, it is perfect (I'm sorry, I had to post it.)

So, yeah, it's a little different from no matter how much I think it over, I love you. But it's still so heartbreakingly sweet and funny. He took those pictures of Jimin without him knowing, saved them in his gallery for months, probably, and then posted them without Jimin's knowledge again to give him and armys a cute, funny surprise. Jungkook finds Jimin so cute and funny. He feels bad whenever he's teasing him a little (he's so gentle with him, most times I find that it's only with him.) Let me be dramatic for a second here and say that if hypothetically, you, a human, are a bit insecure while growing up, and you suddenly establish a friendly attachment to another person. One that makes you feel safe. When that person then also becomes romantically involved with another person, for you, this new attachment of theirs brings up feelings of abandonment and insecurity.

Now, in this dynamic between the two of you, you yourself don't mind venturing off from this special person to join other friends because that doesn't threaten your bond with this angelic person. You know how long the thether is allowed to be before you need it to snap back again. But when your special person, your angel, ventures off, and not just with friends but with this lover of theirs...well, now that makes you very afraid.

That lover could become more special to your angel person than you. So you seek closeness within this duo. You seek to remain near them in order to be the one to, once again, venture off on your own accord. So in this way you hold the reigns, contol. You're lucky because your special person is very understanding and caring and knows your insecurities even better than you do. They are used to accommodate for your 'irrational' behavior, and they accept your humanity. Their lover, however, while he holds you in their heart like a friend, is less forgiving and understanding. So, why should we fault our hypothetical 'someone' just for being insecure? Why should we fault the lover for being human? Why should we fault the angel for being selfless?

Is it because we recognize and hate these traits in ourselves? To be insecure. To be selfish. To be selfless.

People should really deal with their own selves before judging other's for living their own, in this hypothetical instance, lmao 😃, very public lives. Let them keep the particular dynamics of their relationship shrouded in the privacy they deserve because picking it apart from a distance only makes us look like judgemental pricks. 🙂
