maybe it’s the aroace in me but f/o’s are so much easier to deal w/ than real ppl. Were dating someone out of sys and it’s so draining and uuuuhhhrrrggg but f/o????? If I’m upset by a relationship??? Overwhelmed??? I’ll just press pause on the relationship and do smth else!!!! It’s great!!! And then when I’m in the mood again it’s like nothing even happened!!!!!

ive always wondered this as well bc im fictoaroace and the reason i came up with atleast is that with selfships, you have more control with the relationship and can take it at your own pace because.. well, its a fictional relationship, you control what happens in it most of the time. theres no pressure for requirements sometimes because its at YOUR pace, not on an agreed pace between a you and a partner but YOUR pace.

Selfshippers who do not want to share are not assholes or selfish btw.

Sometimes its just because, sometimes its for comfort, BPD, psychosis, autism, etc reasons. Its none of your business as to why someone doesn't want to share.

Sometimes its because they think they're the only one who understands that character/person.

Sometimes its because that character helped them in a way.

People who do not like sharing, most of the time, KNOW that character isn't "theirs", but its the very specific version that loves them Is, whether that character is Canon or an AU version, its up to the S/O.

So if they block you, or say to Do not interact, or interact with extreme care/caution because they don't want to share their f/o, please respect this.

"But what if they're saying they're better than the other self shippers or what if they all say they're the number one fan" AND????? LET THEM BE.

We are all the number one fan of something in our minds when thats not always the case. They can say they're better than the other self shippers of a character if they want to, even if i/you don't agree.

The version(s) of your f/o that you created LOVES YOU! you know whats best between the two or however many of you.
