Πριν τους αλλάξει ο Xρόνος Λυπήθηκαν μεγάλως   στον αποχωρισμό των. Δεν τόθελαν αυτοί·   ήταν η περιστάσεις. Βιοτικές ανάγκες   εκάμνανε τον ένα να φύγει μακρυά —   Νέα Υόρκη ή Καναδά. Η αγάπη των βεβαίως   δεν ήταν ίδια ως πριν· είχεν ελαττωθεί   η έλξις βαθμηδόν, είχεν ελαττωθεί   η έλξις της πολύ. Όμως να χωρισθούν,   δεν τόθελαν αυτοί. Ήταν η περιστάσεις.—    Ή μήπως καλλιτέχνις εφάνηκεν η Τύχη   χωρίζοντάς τους τώρα πριν σβύσει το αίσθημά των,  πριν τους αλλάξει ο Χρόνος· ο ένας για τον άλλον   θα είναι ως να μένει πάντα των είκοσι τεσσάρων   ετών τ’ ωραίο παιδί.  Prima che il tempo li guastasse Assai si dolsero   nell'atto di lasciarsi. Le circostanze,    non loro lo vollero. I casi della vita    fecero che uno lontano se n'andasse –    a New York o in Canadà. Certo l'amore non era più     quello d'un tempo, poco per volta in loro      era scemata l'attrazione. Separarsi però,      non l'avevano voluto. Le circostanze agivano. –   Forse il destino  s'è rivelato artista,     spaiandoli proprio adesso prima che il fuoco si spegnesse    che il Tempo li guastasse. Immutabilmente      saranno l'uno per l'altro il bel ragazzo    di ventiquattro anni.

everything everywhere all at once is about intergenerational trauma. about depression and passive suicidality and the gravitational appeal of nothingness. about aging, getting older in your twenties and getting older in your fifties. about the specific hurt mothers can cause their daughters and daughters their mothers. about the harsh reality of the immigrant experience and the american dream. but it’s mostly about kindness and family and it’s about choosing to sit at home talking about taxes with someone who loves you, and it’s about telling your daughter that you’d choose her over the entire universe, and it’s about how even in the universes where life didn’t form, love can still exist. and it’s really all of that at once.
