It's to the point where Alastor has found out a fun way to catapult Pentious into the sky 'Team Rocket'-style after destroying his toys. That's gotta have taken a bit of time.

ALSO: Pentious not only found out that Alastor was back before Vox, he managed to have TWO blimps ready within a week. I think we might be exceeding obsession levels hitherto known possible, lol.

I'm thinking about the stupid fucking parasocial dynamic between sir pentious and alastor. I have questions

the fact that sir pentious says "again" in the pilot and him saying they'd done battle "like 20 times" in episode 2, was this just like. a regular thing he did even prior to alastor's disappearance. where he would just come in every other week to attack alastor while he was casually doing stuff and alastor just forgot each and every time.

also keep in mind sir pentious is from the VICTORIAN ERA, he arrived in hell before alastor. how. how long has he known him. how long had he been DOING this.

sir pentious being one of the chronologically oldest major characters really makes you think about how much he has seen or knows about LMAO

also the fact that he says "for when I've slain you the almighty vees will finally acknowledge me as their equal" was he just thinking of alastor just being generally powerful that it'd be cool if he defeated him or did he know the specific significance of alastor in the context of the vees. I also find it funny that he found out about alastor's return BEFORE vox, yeah if he delivered a dead alastor to the vees after 7 years I'm sure that would've been one fucking hell of a shock

We know both of them are obsessive stalkers and Vox technically has more monitors around his control room and all the cameras are "Vox"-themed.

But I think there is something to be said about him needing an initial push to set it all in motion.

Valentino probably realised he could turn this into an advantage if he leveraged the info juuuussst right. And then his eternal failing of being a temperamental bitch got the better of him. Come to think of it, his obsession with Angel Dust led to Valentino knowing more things about the Hotel than Vox did. His whole speech about "going to that rancid shithole..." etc. was as much exposition for the audence as it was for Vox because it was pretty clear that Vox had no clue until Val told him.

That is such a spicy nugget of info. I love it!!

I Just Had a Thought About Something...

I see a lot of people commenting on Vox always stalking Alastor through the drones around the hotel and being a creepy voyeur, but something just occurred to me...

Vox didn't know Alastor was back until Valentino told him.

Literally up until this point, Vox has very little reason to want to spy on the hotel. But you know who does have a reason?

Valentino.

Who turns on the TV that instantly tune into the cameras pointed at the hotel?

Valentino.

Vox hasn't been watching the hotel at all. It's been Valentino. We know that Alastor has been back at this point for a week at minimum and that Angel Dust has been staying at the hotel for even longer than that. With how much of a control freak Vox is, there's no way Alastor's reappearance would have escaped him for a whole week if he was actually paying attention to those cameras. Meaning he didn't give a shit and if he didn't care, then why put them up at all? I think it's incredibly likely that Valentino asked Vox to put the cameras up around the hotel so he could watch Angel Dust. The bitch literally already had his TVs turned to the hotel feed. He's been watching Angel this entire time.

(Side note, that means Valentino could have known about Alastor for a solid week and purposefully did not tell Vox about it which is shady as Hell)

Demon summoning can get pretty complicated when you have a psychosexual crush on your best friend. Even more complicated when the demon is your best friend, sort of. Hey, Vox isn't complaining—since when is more of Alastor considered a punishment?

There is so much potential.

Think about all the dynamics that just come from being general manger and facility manger of the same hotel. I tell you now, these two do ALL THE HEAVY LIFTING in that place and we get so see none of it!!!

Besides all of that, Vaggie is the only person in Hell currently allowed and able to give Alastor orders. Do people even realise what that means? Not only can she give him orders but he follows them. We also see her enter his room via the skeleton key of the hotel and he doesn't even so much as comment on that. Other people would get their head ripped off for less invasion of privacy.

Also as shown in the Pilot not only does she know what he is capable of but warns Angel and Charlie of it (yes I know it's mostly exposition for the audience) and yet she faces him off anyways. She doesn't take any of his shit and she stands her ground against him like she fears no god.

I am all but convinced at this point that she has earned some form of respect from him by doing exactly that. I can't imagine he is getting much opposition in hell otherwise.

Vaggie has the potential to be included in the exclusive circle of girlboss besties that Alastor has crowded around him.
