When All The People Were Baptized, It Came To Pass That Jesus Was Also Baptized; And While He Prayed,

Jesus Christ in the Jordan River has his arms folded over his chest, slightly bowed, as the Holy Spirit as a dove descends upon him towards his right shoulder.

When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus was also baptized; and while he prayed, the heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven which said, "You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased."

- The Gospel of Luke 3:21-22

I was really working myself to the bone on this one a couple years ago. Sort of can't believe it's 2 years old now, but I still have a fondness for this one. The sketch is a bit older, though, as I drew it during chapel at Bible college.

The Shekinah is personified as a young woman, drawn in colored pencil and painted in watercolor. She has red wavy hair and eyes, brown skin, and she wears a white dress with long sleeves puffed at the shoulder. She interacts with the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove as a friend and companion. One image shows her sitting with the Spirit coming to perch on her hand. Another shows her sitting at a well pouring itself out while the Spirit hovers over her.

Some of my paintings of my friend @bielzabussy's design of the Shekinah from last year.

And Behold, There Was A Man In Jerusalem Whose Name Was Simeon, And This Man Was Just And Devout, Waiting

And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

A sort of old piece I submitted for my alma mater's student ran academic magazine. Really proud of my progress at that point.
