SECRETS AND SKATEPARKS.
— SECRETS AND SKATEPARKS.

pairing: tasm!peter parker x reader
summary: you have a sneaking suspicion about your best friend and will apparently go to any lengths to prove yourself right.
warnings: mentions of violence/bruises, kissing, basically just a bunch of pg13 fluff, friends to lovers au.
author’s note: very much enjoying the andrew garfield spiderman love recently (don’t know where you all were 9 years ago but that’s not my business) so here’s a fic for my favourite spidey! i don’t think i’ve written for marvel in over a year and my writing is kinda rusty, but enjoy nonetheless!! ♡

“I wonder what Spider-Man looks like,” you absentmindedly mumble, scribbling down the answer to the Calculus question you were working on.
This piques your best friend Peter’s interest and his gaze quickly shoots from his own homework to you. “What, why? Wh-why does that, uh, matter?”
“No, I’m just saying, y’know?” You shrug, not thinking anything of it until you catch his expression. His head is tilted in confusion and he resembles a lost puppy with curiosity painted plain as day on his face.
God, why does your best friend have to be so cute. Okay, maybe a slightly inappropriate thought to be having, but it’s not like you’re hurting anyone! Other than yourself, that is, by not having your feelings returned. Collateral damage.
“He’s, like, super strong right?” you ask, turning back to your homework. Mostly to avoid looking at Peter, but also because you aren’t quite as good at calculus as him. He hums in answer, prompting you to continue. “Which means he’s probably super ripped. And if he’s super ripped, he’s gotta be like…”
You trail off, thinking he gets where you’re going. But when you look at him again, his brows are furrowed and you can’t help chuckling. “Spider-Man is probably really hot.”
Peter chokes on air.

A Second Chance
Major Spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Please read at your own risk!
Fandom: Marvel, Spider-Man, Peter Parker
Word Count: 2597
Thank you to @babblydrabbly for beta reading for me!

You limped slowly up the stairs of the school. According to the tracker you had secretly placed on this universe’s Spider-Man, he was somewhere in this building. And after what just happened, you knew he could use all the help he could get.
Ever since you had been pulled from your reality and thrown here, things had just gotten stranger and stranger. First, some weird wizard in a cape captured you and threw you into his basement dungeon along with a handful of villains. Then, you were reunited with Peter just to discover he wasn’t your Peter at all. This Spider-Man was a little younger, shorter, and slightly broader than yours. But he gave off the same wholesome, helpful, friendly vibe you recognized immediately and something deep down inside you knew you could trust him. So, when he offered to try and help everyone before sending you back, you were the first to jump at the opportunity.
The only problem was you had no idea what you needed to have “fixed”. You hadn’t fallen into anything, and you hadn’t been affected by a science experiment gone wrong. You weren’t an adversary or enemy of Spider-Man. In fact, you were his partner, in every sense of the word. What had started as a reluctant superhero team up had soon grown into a full-blown friendship which then bloomed into love. He had demons and heartbreaks that still haunted him from his past, but somehow, you thought you were able to help him overcome some of that.
But now you were here. Snatched away from that life you had created and thrown into a new world with new rules and a new Peter Parker. And just when things started looking up, like you might be able to go home, Osborn had flipped out and attacked everyone. Even with your gadgets, you probably wouldn’t have made it out of that apartment alive if Dr. Octavius hadn’t grabbed you with one of his metal arms and carried you to safety. But as grateful as you were for his help, you needed to find Peter.
As you rounded the corner, you could see a lone light glowing from a room at the end of the hall. Voices trickled out of it, but you were too far away to make out what they were saying. But then, just as you reached the doorway, you heard a laugh. A laugh you knew almost as well as your own. One that part of you had been worrying you would never hear again.
Stepping into the room, you whispered, “Peter.”
Three heads shot up as six eyes instantly land on you. The one to the left is the Peter you had met before, the one who actually belongs here. The one on the right was older than the other two, wearing a jacket, safety goggles and gloves as he worked on the experiment in front of him. But you only had eyes for the man in the middle. The one in the lab coat buttoned up over his Spider-Man suit. The one who looked older and more tired than when you were snatched from your reality but was still very much your Peter.
As he looked at you, he almost dropped the bottle he was working on before carefully setting it down. He took a hesitant step in your direction and whispered, “Y/N?”
You nodded and he hurled himself at you, sweeping you tightly into his arms and twirling you around. You squeezed him back just as enthusiastically, but you could sense that even though you had been apart from him for a few days, it had been much longer for him. He put you down and cupped your face in his hands, eyes scanning your face frantically. “How…When..?”
“I don’t know. I guess the same way you’re here. One minute we were fighting together and the next I was in this place alone.”
His face darkened. “What is the last thing you remember? Right before you got here?”
You closed your eyes as you tried to think back. “We were fighting Kraven. He had us trapped in the woods and we were separated. I was running then…. I was here. That’s all I remember.” You watched a look of absolute dread and pain cross his face as he pulled you tight against him once more.
You whispered softly in his ear. “I didn’t make it, did I? Everyone else I met here so far, they all were brought here moments before they died. Is that…is that what happened to me too?” You felt him nod softly against your shoulder and you sighed. “How long ago..?”
“Three years. I lost you three years ago.”
You gently ran your fingers through his hair just like you always did when you tried to comfort him. You felt him stiffen momentarily at the gesture before he completely fell apart. As he clutched wildly at your shirt, you could feel his tears splash against your neck as his lanky frame shook with his sobs.
You murmured softly, “I’m so sorry. I promised you I wouldn’t ever leave you like that. That I wouldn’t make you go through what you went through with Gwen. I should have been better and I’m so sorry.”
“No,” he sniffed. “It wasn’t your fault. I should have been able to save you. I should have been stronger, faster. I just let you down like everyone else I care about.”
“Listen to me, Peter. You could never let me down. I knew the risks when I started fighting alongside you. This isn’t on you. None of it was ever on you. You can’t save everyone but you tried. And sometimes, that’s all that really matters.”
He let out another wretched sob. “I forgot…how you could make me feel so much better with just a few words. How you made me feel more like myself with just a touch.”
You took a deep breath before asking, “What happened to you after I was gone?”
He hung his head, ashamed. “I let myself fall back into that dark place I was in when you found me. But it was worse because every time I tried to remember the things you said to help me last time, it made me miss you that much more. I did things….I went too far… I’m not that man you knew.”
You could see that. This version of your Peter was haunted, so much more even than when you had first met and he was grieving Gwen. He had lost too much and gained too little for his sacrifice. And it killed you that you were part of the reason for his suffering.
You placed one finger gently under his chin and lifted his face until you were staring into his eyes. “Peter, we all make mistakes. But the fact that you’re here helping with whatever all this is-” you gestured to all the science equipment and the other two men watching you “- that alone tells me that the man I love is still in there. Even if he got a little lost for a while.”
Peter cupped your face and brought it towards him. You could see the question in his eyes and you gave the slightest of nods. As soon as he saw your approval, he smashed his lips against yours. You could feel the years of sorrow, pain, and loss behind the kiss but more than any of that, you could feel his love. You returned it with all the love and life you could gather and even though the kiss was slightly different, it still felt like home.
When the two of you finally broke apart, Peter had the brightest smile you could ever remember plastered on his face. He took your hand and turned to the other two men. “Um, guys, this is Y/N. She’s my MJ. Y/N, this is Peter Parker and Peter Parker.”
You blinked in surprise. You had already met the one Peter Parker from this universe but a third Peter Parker? This was going to get very confusing very quickly.
This universe's Peter (younger Peter) waved awkwardly. “Nice to see you again. I didn’t realize you two…”
You shifted slightly. “Yeah, well, I thought it would kind of be a weird thing to bring up given the circumstances.”
The new Peter (older Peter) chuckled softly, “Well, I’m glad to meet you. He’s told us some great things about you already.”
You look up at your Peter. “Really?”
He blushed, “You know, just how amazing you are and stuff like that.”
“No, you’re amazing.” You planted a small kiss on his cheek. “But I think you were working on something when I interrupted. Do you need any help?”
“From you? Always.” He took your hand and led you over to the bottle he had been working on. And as you worked, neither one of you could keep the smiles off of your faces.
The battle was over. All of the others who had been pulled through dimensions with you had been cured and that meant it was time to go back. It was a bittersweet moment because you had made some really wonderful friends on this adventure, but you couldn’t wait to get back to your life even if you knew there was a good chance it was about to end.
You walked over to your Peter as he helped older Peter who had been stabbed by the Green Goblin. It looked bad, but he seemed like he would survive once he received some medical attention back in his universe. They both smiled at you as you approached.
“Are you both okay?” you asked.
“I’ll live. I’ve been stabbed before.” Older Peter chuckled but it soon shifted into a grimace of pain. But you politely ignored it.
“I’m fine.” Your Peter said, wrapping his arms around you. “How are you?”
You shrugged. “A few cuts and bruises but nothing major.” You nodded up to the sky where the wizard was hovering high above speaking to younger Peter as golden magical circles swirled through the sky. “I guess this means it’s about time for us to be heading back.”
Both Peters nodded, staring up at the sky as well. You felt your Peter’s grip grow tighter around you, but before you could say anything, younger Peter swung down to where you all stood. He had a strange expression on his face, a mix of pain, sadness, and acceptance, yet when he spoke his voice was cheerful. “Everything’s all set. I just wanted to say thank you, for everything. I couldn’t have done any of this without you guys.”
Older Peter smiled at the younger man. “You know, it’s what we do.”
All four of you came together in a tight embrace, knowing that this will likely be the last time any of you would see each other. Even you and your Peter.
When you all pulled away, your Peter kept holding onto your hands. You knew the same thoughts that were running through your mind had to also be running through his. Within minutes of you going back, you would be dead in his arms. And once again, he couldn’t do anything to save you.
Just as younger Peter started to swing away, he turned back to the two of you. “Listen, guys. Aunt May used to always say that everyone deserves a second chance. Maybe this is it, for both of you. Maybe you can find a way to make things right. Or at least, I hope you can.” And with those final words, he was gone.
You smiled up at your Peter. “I wish it were that easy. But in our world, we can’t just say a magic spell to make things right.”
You watched as your words sparked something in Peter’s mind, and he frantically turned to you, grasping your forearms tightly. “Go left. Take the road less traveled.”
“What?”
“Please, I am begging you to just trust me. When the time comes, and you’ll know when that is, go left.” His hands gripped your arms even tighter to the point that it was painful. So, you nod, still not understanding what he meant, but recognizing it was important.
“Okay, Peter. I promise. I’ll remember.”
He looked deeply into your eyes one last time before pulling you into his chest. You both wrapped your arms around one another, securely holding each other in a warm embrace. You softly whispered into his chest, “I love you, Peter Parker.”
And he whispered back, “I love you, too.”
Then, one second you were holding tightly to Peter and the next there was a spark of gold light before you were running through trees at night. It took you a moment, but you soon realized you were in the same exact second you disappeared from. You wanted to stop and come to terms with everything that just happened, but you could hear Kraven closing in behind you. So, you kept running.
Just up ahead, you saw a fork in the road. To the left was a dark, unruly trail that looked overgrown and foreboding. To the right was a well-worn trail where the trees began to thin out and you could swear you saw a light at the end. But just as you were about to swerve to the right, you remembered Peter’s warning from before. Go left. Take the road less traveled. So, against every instinct, you switched directions and charged down the path to the left.
You could hear Kraven swearing behind you as he slowed to a stop right on the edge of the trail, but you kept running. Suddenly, you burst through the trees into a clearing at the edge of the woods. You saw a familiar red and blue costumed hero whip around to face you. As soon as he recognized you, he ripped off his mask, revealing the younger, less haunted Peter you remembered from your time. You barreled into his arms, letting out a shuddering sob of relief.
He squeezed you tightly before pulling away to check you over for injuries. “Hey, hey, hey, are you okay? Did he hurt you?”
You shook your head emphatically. “N-no! I’m fine but for some reason he stopped chasing me when I went down this path.”
He pulled you into another tight embrace once he was sure you were okay. “And I’m so glad you did. I tried to find and warn you before you got here, but I was too late. He set up a massive trap down the other one. You could have been killed.”
A small chuckle escaped your lips as a rush of understanding flowed through you. You stared up at him in wonder. “You saved me. You told me to go left. You gave us both a second chance.”
He looked at you confused. “What are you talking about? No, I didn’t. I just said I didn’t get a chance to-”
You cut him off by pressing a firm kiss to his lips. He seemed surprised at first but soon leaned into it. When you broke apart, he asked, “Not that I didn’t enjoy that, but I know when you’re trying to distract me. Are you going to explain what you meant by ‘I told you to go left’? I mean, what was all that about?”
You smiled at him as you ran a hand down the side of his face. “Nothing. I’ll explain later. Right now, I’m just glad I found a way home.”

This year would be your and George’s first Christmas after moving in together. The big day was getting close and the holiday atmosphere could be felt everywhere.
Your shared place felt truly like home.
You sat together, cuddling in your living room in front of a crackling fire, surrounded by Christmas decorations and you felt at peace.
George’s lips were pressed against the side of your face and he kept leaving the softest kind of kisses on your skin - while he held you in his arms like that, you felt your heart positively melt.
“Y/N/N…” George began quietly, getting your attention. “I have a little pre-Christmas gift for you…” You thought for a second, puzzled. “Pre-Christmas? Why?” “Maybe because I can’t really wait…” he replied, and sat a little straighter, so you shifted a bit to face him. “But I also wouldn’t want it to steal the spotlight from all the other presents you’re gonna get, so maybe it is better to give it to you now.”
You looked at him with your brows furrowed, unable to guess what he could have in mind. “But I have to ask you a question before that,” he said, and you nodded, prompting him to continue.
“Will you marry me?”
You suddenly found yourself facing that question, the question most people would dream of hearing just once in their lifetime, by their soulmate. And there he was, your soulmate, proposing to you, out of nowhere.
“Y-yes…” you let out, after feeling like you kept him waiting for ages.
