He always left a fight alone when he thought it belonged to Spider-Man, like in the circus or with the Rhino... even though Foggy was his lawyer and him escaping would have messed up his case!... and he says he saw Spider-Man working on that one criminal as a chance to rest himself... and he wasn't going to go to the circus that one time to avoid third-wheeling with Foggy and Karen until he heard that Spider-Man would make an appearance...
