About the song ‘Klavier’: “Klavier is my favorite song on the CD. It’s about the passion and madness of a killer. I worked on the text for two years. It began as a harmless romantic love poem to a piano teacher and then evolved into the grotesque and surreal.”

About the song ‘Tier’ : “When a man sexually abuses a child, he steps down to the level of an animal. Incest, rape, sexual abuse are the most despicable crimes. I’m very close to the topic. I was shocked to hear about the abused girls in Belgium who were being murdered by this child molester. I have a twelve year old daughter myself. If I imagined that something like that would happen to my daughter, I don’t know what I would do.”

About the song ‘Bestrafe Mich’ : “However, I don’t believe that God exists. And if he exists and he really allows all the misery on this earth, then he should also punish me along with the many other sufferers. I would never pray to such a cruel god.”

About the song ‘Alter Mann’: “An ode to old age, to transience. On my recent vacation to the Maldives, I witnessed an old man sweeping the beach in front of the bungalows from dawn to dusk.
